Hi guys!
So I did a thing. :) I got a new reptile from undergroundreptiles.com. This is me unboxing her and setting up her new tank. Plus we see her being adorable in her enclosure. I hope you enjoy, because I'm super excited!

Don't own but I've been researching them for 2 years and finally found a captive bred breeder to buy from. But from my experiencer your Fire Skink loves his setup. They skittish but usually will be comfortable above ground if they have an above average decour setup. The more stuff in their tank to hide under the more they stay out. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stars on the setup!

@@lastname7498 I don't know yet, he won't have a clutch ready until about late March early April, also it's too cold to ship them out according to him. But I don't see why not so long as it's not too cold where you live :-)

Underground reptiles is pretty good if you're buying a Iguana(any species/morph) or a Tegu however I find he's really great at the Tegu morphs. Everything else seems to come in cold

Chris S I have gotten sooo many iguanas from there and they are wild count and all died dude to poor conditions and killed my iguana. It gave it some kind of disease

I just ordered the same thing , and I’m in Texas, they didn’t add no cooling packs and it came hours late, poor baby was over heated and passed away, they said they would ship another one tommorow but it is still very sad that it happened

Ember is a beautiful Fire Skink. He/She will give you years of enjoyable memories together. I have found that Underground Reptiles has a large selection of healthy and well keep animals (both captive bred or wild caught). If you ever have any problems with their animals call them and ask for Rian G. and he will see that your concerns are handled promptly. Usually you can tell the difference because when they are full grown the Females are slightly more slender in the head and body than males

I am going to a reptile expo today and for this past week I have been studying leopard geckos and fire skinks so that if my dad buys me one I will have knowledge at my finger tips (in my brain) I can’t wait it is about to start

Loisa Butera actually some are captive bred! It's not very common unfortunately but as they grow in popularity a lot more are going to be captive bred :)

Aww thanks 😊 Any of them really. My favorite are any that open from the front, so especially the exo terras and national geographic brands. I've been loving my acrylic one from I Heart Geckos, too. But those are all much more pricey than just plain tanks, so I've gotten a lot from petco's $1 per gallon sales, thrift stores, and craigslist, and they work just the same :).

A uv light is optional for a fire skink. They dont spend time out on there holes they make so its not needed.. good job though

Ok so I ordered a snake from them and I’m like super worried about his/her health and stress level. I’ve never ordered a reptile online before and I’ve read that their animals don’t eat and eventually pass away

Oh no 🙁. I had a really good experience with them - they even called me right after it was delivered to make sure that I got her and everything looked ok. If it's any consultation, I've had mine since Sept 11, and she's still doing great. She was eating almost immediately, and settled in very quickly. Definitely don't handle your snake immediately, give it lots of time to settle in. Also, I wouldn't offer it food for at least a week (as it could stress them out more if they're not ready to eat). I hope all goes well and congratulations on your new snake!

Agreed. I watched some videos from them, and some unboxings from other people, before I got her, so I thought they were fine. But after I received her and got multiple comments/messages about them, I did some more research about the company online, and they have a terrible reputation. I was definitely lucky.

JOHN Teixido I think a smaller container is better for shipping since it’s more secure and it keeps them from sliding during shipping. Also most reptiles are shipped, every pet store gets their reptiles from breeders all over the country.

I can't speak for other people, but I had a good experience with them. They shipped my fire skink out on time, and she arrived on time and very healthy. They even called right after her arrival to check that she made it okay and to see if I had any questions about her. She adjusted to her new home incredibly quickly, and so far, she's still doing great!

Idk if you have sexed yet but I sexed my skink by watching him poop his goods popped out while doing so. Another way to visually sex is the hips of the females tend to be significantly wider than male.
