I demoed a G430 Max and when i was done with my 18 hole went to the pro shop and bought one. I'm 76 years old and have been playing a Callaway Epic for the last 4 years. I hit the Epic well 220 yards but not always in the fairway. the G430 Max was down the middle and long. the shaft on the demo was a senior shaft Alta CB55 SR I ordered the new drive with a regular shaft. I felt the senior shaft got to much height. I have not gotten my new driver yet so hopefully the regular shaft works for me if not I will get fitted at the club with the pro.
Went for a fitting and figured the 10k max would be the winner. Surprised to find out the LST won, dropped spin enough to max it playable on missions and still long. Couldn’t believe some of the shots I saw on the sim!
I tested the 10k max when doing some free Callaway and Taylormade driver fittings. Didn't suit me. Later tried the Max and LST with Ping Tour 2.0 shafts and Kai'Li. The Ping shafts launched high and span a ton for me with both. The LST with Kai'Li 60X turned out to suit me best and is a bomber. Really nice launch and great spin numbers. The max spun up more for me with the same shaft. Funny how different people/ swings get different results! Great review- thanks.
Very tempted to go and pick one up. I can use some extra forgiveness, let the G410 out of my bag last week and played the best round of the year so far.
Great review and comparison based on Trackman. I am going to upgrade to the 430 Max from my current 410 but the shaft selection will be crucial. Already tried the 10.5 in the Alta shaft but ball flight seemed too high. Going to try the Tour 65 shaft next and the Kai Li from Mitsubishi which are options along with the HZRDUS Red. Also might need to see what the 9.0 head does in ball flight. Thanks Brandon.
I like your content, good luck growing your channel. Purely from a statistics standpoint, your min. sample size needs to be 25 to get a distribution and understand the difference between a great shot, a poor shot, and a typical shot. Just geeking out!

The open face and fade bias is what is giving you that extra spin. Closing the face with the max is what gives you less spin in the case…possibly presenting more dynamic loft
At 12:38 you mentioned you'd go for the LST. That's what I did at the demo. Reached for the LST having used the 410 and 425 LST, but the flight was too low spin looking. Someone else had the Max out, but interested to try them.
I can reply to my own comment now having owned the G430 Max for a few months. It's very draw bias. Feels harder to move quickly, and that tow in look at address really put me off, so I traded it for the LST version, which sits a tad open at address, and is so much easier to move quickly IMO. So easy to fade too, and for me a much better driver than the Max.

Kudos to Ping for fixing the awful sound of the 425, and I also like the matte grey color scheme. Not a fan of the turbulators though, although it's a great driver I'm sure.
Love the channel but I do not agree with your taste in driver looks at all. I think Ping drivers are so ugly! I hate the turbulaters so much. I also don't usually like the shape of Ping heads. The G430 lst looks a little better than usual but still no where near the Tsr3, Paradym, Sim 2, or the Aerojet. I don't like the Mizuno drivers either but they still look better than the Pings. Atleast the G430 sounds better than they usually do. Usually, Ping drivers sound like a Walmart bargain bin aluminum baseball bat! With them all performing pretty much the same distance and ball speed wise I could never bring myself to buy a 600$+ driver that was ugly or sounded terrible. Just my opinion. Maybe I'm biased because my last 2 drivers are the Taylormade M3 440 and the Titleist TSR3. They both look, feel, and sound incredible! I played the M3 for 5 years and I might play the TSR3 for even longer.
I played the M3 for close to 5 years. Loved that driver! I hit the Ping again today and like the look of it less than the first time I hit it. They need to bring back the sound of the G10. That sounded deadly.
As a fitter i see this all the time just had a customer hitting the paradym triple diamond with 120 mph club head speed but has better spin numbers with the paradym makes no sense but this is why we different choices with different heads........
