Great video Matt. I'm gaming the G425 max and love it, for an upgrade I'm going to hold out until Ping releases the Ping BGT, (bad golfer technology) version
Love the idea of the leaderboard. You might want to consider fairway hit / r/l totals from the simulator. Just to give it some level of context as you rank al drivers. Also I love the idea of going over your favourite drivers on a budget ie from the last 5 years. Keep the viewers on a budget happy when comparing to the latest and greatest shank vehicle. Love the channel and love the leaderboard idea - very top gear ish.
Really enjoyed this type of video Matthew!👍 Helps us make informed decisions. When considering buying a new driver. As most of us don't have the resources, or time to get this information for ourselves. I look forward to seeing how other driver's from other manufacturers stack up against Ping.
I wish the Ping 425 worked for me like it worked for everyone else. I went 2 years and had a fitting and out of all of the drivers, the 425 had the worst dispersion. I'm about a 9 handicap. The Ping was dead last, then was the TM Sim2 and at the time, the Epic LS was the best for me. Shocked me.
Hi Matt, love my 425 Driver and excited to see your review of 430 , but how bloody expensive is it ? Not so sure that I could warrant laying out that much just to have the latest model .
I'm actually going to buy the 425 since I don't think the price point and especially the performance is not worth the extra. My suggestion is stay with what you have.
G430 is awesome. I switched from a Titleist tsi3 and couldn’t be happier. The 425 model is really good other than being a little loud but it did not bother me.
I was Always a Callaway Driver Man until Last Year when a Friend off mine Gave Me His Old Ping G 400 Driver to use 😮 I have never hit so many Fairway and The Length was Awesome Truly The most Forgiving Driver ever Will Definitely be getting The G30 👍
Was lucky to pick one up a few weeks ago here in Aus... Also gaming it with a Ventus TR Blue 6x, you couldn't have done a more personalised review for me 😂
Great review Matt , very in depth and executed fantastically 👍 Do you think a ball speed of 135 to 140 could use the LST ? Or is it just for you lucky 160 + ball speed 🙈, cheers
I have a ball speed of about 150+. I have used LST versions for years! However at 64 years of age, I have found I cannot keep the ball in the air long enough for this type of driver? Just ordered the 425 with a regular flex shaft??????????????
Matt i am awaiting mine , as regards which it is ? but like you say pretty much straight , in simulater my impression was not as long as the mavrik sub zero of which on course i gained 50yds i will have to see .? paul
I love my old Ping G25… but it’s losing pop (or I am 😆)… I’m due for a new one but I refuse to pay $400-600 for a single golf club… unless someone wants to sponsor me. 😀 I’m gonna look for a new 2021-22 model.
Matt, how a real driver review comparison for us with higher handicap or sub 100mph swing speed? There are many of us who would welcome this type of review
I think the real questions we need answering is What is the optimal size, density, material and floppability of the bobble on top of your winter hat to achieve the best carry distance?
Matt , paul , Am i supposed to turn through , or would my stance be wrong, you have just hit these clubs and somehow end up on your back toe , i tend to hit the ball well yet my back foot sort of is leaning right just off toe .
Unfortunately it feels like all the drivers year after year have the same selling points so now it feels like it’s all about looks and unfortunately ping lost me with this driver. 425 was gorgeous but 430 looks like a hot mess but that’s just me. Thanks for the review Matt
I agree. I love the classy look of my G425, the G430 looks like it's trying to fit in with the Cobra/Taylornade crew rather than hanging around with Titleist as the refined and understated bunch where it should be.
I just don’t understand why You don’t try the 425 in comparison and show us the data comparing 425/430. I’m sorry but all RU-vidrs do the same. Why not really compare the the/old drivers and give us as faithful viewers the exact data/truth. Now it’s just words. Sorry. // Erik
You're right, its eye opening if you go back and watch some old club reviews you realize the differences are not major, almost non existent. I watched some of Rick Shiels old Nike driver reviews and the target numbers and data he produced was not far off from his last two reviews. Marketing at it's finest
I concur, i also think had i not got a G425 last year then the minimal marginal gains the G430 gives over the G425 isn't worth the extra price. You can get a G425 max for around £350 now, even £100 cheaper than that if you buy used, why not just go for that?
first watch. im not convinced that the same amount of money spent on lessons would be worse than using a swing that needs needs new technology. or does the need to financially impress on the first tee overide the the technical good swing? thanks for the vid...
Those spin numbers look very very low. It would be interesting to see one of the shots coming high off the toe with a 1500rpm spin and seeing how it carried / side dispersion.
Said the same to Pete Finch but are you, him and Carter on a wind up? You seem to all be releasing your videos at the same time, on the same day on the same subjects. The thumbnails on this one are almost identical. I get you have release dates but this is a bit silly.
Non-disclosure agreements from the manufacturers. They can't release content they've had recorded for several weeks until a specific time. Their choices are either be late to the party and miss views or everyone release the moment the NDA ends.
Are you serious? All reviewers sign legal agreements with the manufacturers which give them the exact date and time they can release their reviews? It’s the same for them all… You could have seen other reviews online 2 months ago from Australia or Japan which have earlier golf seasons and review dates, or in recent weeks some US channels (who don’t work with manufacturers) bought and imported the clubs themselves from Japan and then did reviews
@@kevinhayes1975 your missing the point. I get there are NDAs but they are releasing them to the swme minute with the identical set up. It's unoriginal and lazy.
@@TJ-ss1up it’s fairly simple.. They are released the exact minute the legal agreement allows.. these reviews are filmed prior to Xmas and are on hold until the exact minute..Hope this helps.. you are also suggesting the reviewers are being influenced.. I disagree and Pete Finch and the 3/4 others that I watch all seem impartial. eg Rick Shields today gives a negative review of the new TM Stealth 2. Mark Crossfield also is negative in a driver review this week.. Pete Finch is actually saying in this review that the G425max out performs the G430max- The G430 sounds & feels a bit better he and all other reviewers say..I hope you get the chance to watch this review.
Anyone who buys any brand new driver must have more money than sense. I waited for this to be announced, and then on Monday I ordered the g425 for £150 less than this. Pretty much the same performance for a lot less. If you want the g430 wait until they announce next year's driver, and buy it then 👍
