Honestly in this one sequence I can actually forgive Umbra for not moving. Whatever Ballas hits you with that knocks the Operator/Drifter out of him? Given how the two seem to pass control of the umbra body off and whatnot… It’s probably a shock to his system to have you *ripped out* Also the beam sends you flying so like… either way Umbra is concussed lol.

While I was choosing who to keep, I remembered that Natah chose to be The Lotus for our sake, and thought of her quote, "Dream not of who you are, but of what you want to be." It came so naturally thanks to the storytelling in this game. I had shivers.
@@maszkalman3676 It is not a lie when it comes from the character in a past decision. Any other choice for her other than the Lotus choice is letting Ballas win, and saying he has a point in his aggression, when he has none. Especially when every single messed up thing we have fought over, except for Rell, is down to Ballas. These were my thoughts when I chose the Lotus.
Lotus made the perfect sense to me too with reasoning very similar to yours. Given that this was a choice. I feel like being the Lotus was a choice she made. She cannot escape who she was. She cannot be someone that's actually already lost. But she *can* be who she wants to be. I respect all choices made by different players tho. Like embracing her Natah self. Or maybe even just a giant middle-finger to Ballas by picking Margulis anyway. Margulis chose death over Ballas. But she (kinda) emerges again but over his dead body. Haha
completely agree. Suppose its a credit to the Devs for giving us a choice that can make sense no matter which one is picked. Music has a different meaning to each person who listens to it so why not have a character that people can view and connect with differently based on there perspective and choose what they think is right.
I choose Natah because it was Natah who's maternal pain, brought on by void scars, sterilizing her. Unable to have children herself she saw the Tenno asleep within a dream, having no idea who they truly are. Natah's devotion kept the operator safe. Lotus isn't what she became, its what the Tenno call her, lacking any parental figure themselves. Primarily because "Lotus' is another word for center. Marglis is who Natah impersonated in order to gain access to the Tenno capsule hive on Lua. That is why Natah is a mimic. To infiltrate and kill the Tenno children, as Marglis. But the maternal pain I spoke of, stops her. It is in this that she enters a parallel state, similar to the Tenno, and loses herself in her role as the Lotus. That is why I couldn't choose Lotus, even though I found that to be the most fitting title. But, a title isn't a name. I spent an outrageous amount of time trying to decide which one to choose. I eventually came to this conclusion. However the point of this choice, which the devs grant us is that, there is no wrong answer. Or perhaps, it was the player that decides what question to ask, and the answer finds us. There are only a minute handful of games that dive this deep. I'm almost 50, and this is a story that I'll take with me into, well.... the void, I guess. I suppose there are many words to describe the grave.
It is simply amazing that a game can derive and provoke this much thought into a decision that doesn't impact the loop in any way. The raw emotion associated with the choice brings a weight to the game I don't think many saw coming, or at least I certainly wasn't expecting it to be so deep and rich. All manner of things, regardless of triviality, stress me for some reason. I've been playing for a very long time, and I'm MR32. There was a giant gap for us vets, between the Old War / Second Dream stuff, to the New War. So Lotus was away from us for a really long time. I wonder if that could possibly be why this decision took so long. I literally left the computer just hovering on that screen for days. Certainly wanting to move past it, but unable to. As you know. Its final. I hope you will post your time through the Duviri Paradox. It will answer many questions, but likely, will also produce new questions. "Wally" , or the "Man in the wall' has been a source of endless conversation for my friends and I. I have a dozen theories on this being. One theory being - You notice when Wally offers your operator a handshake, its actually the Lotus' hand. Some people think that this was to torture the operator. However, I strongly disagree. Remember, Ballas cut her hand off and it went into the void portal. I think this action was actually necessary. A link of sorts. To connect the operator and the drifter. The hand was a conduit. Between the operator and the drifter, not a link between the operator and Wally. I think Wally is going to be way stranger than we can understand at the moment. Lotus also went into the void. With her being a sentient, its unclear how she made it out. The void is utterly toxic to them. The drifter somehow collects her, but we don't see how they do this. This is either a massive plot hole, or part of Wally's weirdness. Yet another part of me thinks that he (Wally) may have been around the entire time. Just not in an obvious way. I've come to define evil has this. "A hunger that has no interest in being satisfied". I'm not sure Wally fits this, but I've been wrong before. I often watch people through the quests to perhaps gain insight into these theories. Others can sometime see what we can't. Apologies for the length. I just can't seem to shut up.

@@GergelyGyurics Yes, I've played through Duviri. From what I can tell, my original theory was correct and the hand is a conduit. Although Duviri didn't answer as many questions as I thought it would. It seems the drifter actually requires some physical connection to Tenno operators, which the hand does appear to achieve. This of course granting the drifter with various advantages. This could also be a way for Wally to captivate the drifter, since they never took 'the deal'.
@@originalprecursor yes, I agree. The Drifter has to be able to move the Warframes without the Tenno void powers and the transference chair, and having the Lotus' hand gives an explanation for that. We also see Ballas cuting down her hand, and see it on Wally. What are the odds that the hand just... fell through the void and arrived at Duviri? It had to be an intervention from Wally. I just wonder if the Sentients avoid the Void because of Wally. The only Tenno who was left behind by the Lotus was Rell, who is coincidentally the only Tenno standing up against Wally. The Lotus was wounded in the void, and denies seeing the Man in the Wall. I think the next part of the saga after Duviri will be us getting more information about the void. (Maybe including the Entrati family and the isolation vaults.)

First, you need to understand what a void is. The Void is the point of convergence of all probabilities of any event. It is cut off from our reality and exists outside of it. If an object or an sabject falls into the Void, then all possible probabilities of events that can happen to it - occur. The Void demon erased from reality all the possibilities of death of the main character - Operator. (Or just a child. Because there are several operators. So in different probabilities of events - these were different children. Which is logical.) Only 2 remained - a surviving child who made a deal with the Void Demon, and a sole survivor who somehow got stuck on the ship, and then got into the Duviri - a Drifter. Thats why the Drifter is a also a lot older then the Operator - he never made this deal, he made HIS deal with the Operator - other version of himself. And aging processes stopt in the Operator's body because ALL the possibilities of his death have been erased, witch includes dying from an old age. (Despite the fact that the Operators were immersed in a dream - the aging process does not stop from this. And yet they never age.) Something like that \_(O_o)_/ Hope it helps.
When the Tenno made a deal with The Man in the Wall, a side effect of the void powers means that all alternate timelines of yourself were collapsed into a single, true timeline. The only exception is the Drifter, who maybe couldnt be collapsed because they had moved into our timeline... therefor since they are 'you', they have as much access to your void powers.
@@ScorchHDTV Yeah everything in that comment is an assumption so it seems especially wacky. For instance, Drifter was not in our timeline when the deal was made, so this "couldn't be collapsed" part doesn't hold up. The "collapse into a single true timeline" happening at all is itself an assumption... because it has only happened to Baro Kiteer, a trader who used to bring different items on every console. The effects on Baro Kiteer are absolutely nothing like the effects on your operator. Alternate versions of the operator are shown to die, whereas alternate versions of Baro are unified, allowing him to bring the same gear for every console (alternate reality). If Baro's deal was like operator, then Xbox and Switch and PS4 would have no Baro at all. Baro has no void powers that came with the deal, either. A more reliable theory is that the deal to save you originally both involved you and Drifter, because otherwise you alone would lose the New War and the deal would not hold up. But still nowhere near confirmed. Now about the assumption required for this.... Eventually Drifter's version of that deal happened and they found out that they would also eventually get powers. That's why they are in the cutscene, shaking hands, that's why they tell Ordis "I don't have them YET."
I think New War brings closure to the original Warframe storyline, with the exception of maybe Duviri. Anything that comes after is, effectively, Warframe 2.0, in my opinion.

What a ride! Since I already played Duviri and I am not sure if you did, I won't mention the few little things I noticed while rewatching this quest. There are some things... that made me think. The result being bad or really bad for us as Drifter/Operator.
I haven't actually played it yet 😅 saving it for a reaction stream, I'll be announcing it in another video but life has been getting in the way, currently busy moving house from one side of the country to the other haha
I think they had Duviri written but hadnt pulled the trigger on releasing it due to trouble getting gameplay optimized and it was still buggy on release but a great add on nonetheless. Now im hearing "SOL" will be the next open world?. I think we finish the era in the Tau system. See you there Tenno.

I absolutely loved the New War. I can't wait for Duviri also in like 9 days or so. I decided to watch your playthrough of it so I can relive this quest because it was just that good!

You know a game has a good story when you have people feeling sorry for someone like Ballas. The more I think about it the more I can empathize with him, in his own mind he was betrayed and punished for something he thought was right. But unfortunately he was too proud to let go and too hurt to turn back.
I guess the thing that upsets me about him is his ego. No matter what, he always acted like he was steps ahead of us when we're so abnormal were always able to counter him. He underestimated Natah and the Tenno/Drifter. On second thought, maybe he is a well written character since he was able to evoke hate and contempt for him from me.
