New power plants coming - KAPALA

Government has unveiled mid to long term plans to develop and diversify the country's electricity generation capacity to deal with the current power deficit.
Among these are developing the phase two 300 Mega Watt Coal Power Plant at Maamba Collieries and a 100 mega watt Solar PV power plant in Chisamba which will be completed in December 2024.
Energy Minister, PETER KAPALA has also disclosed at a media briefing in Lusaka that ZESCO and Ndola Energy Company are in negotiations to restart the 105 mega watt Ndola Energy Power plant by July 2024.
