Wow Proboat are killing it lately with the rereleases of these older boats, and making it longer gives me hope the UL19 will be redone but bigger too if and when they do the right thing.
@@FEboats I am kind of hoping that it will be fiberglass like the OG but yes it could very well be polycarbonate, which is a polite word for plastic but lets hope not.
@@waynesbutler7834 honestly I’d almost rather an ABS hydro because of how brittle fiberglass is. I’m always so nervous driving my UL because I’m worried I might crack it, like I did my Geico, Veles, and Impulse.
@@waynesbutler7834 all proboats will be plastic now cause it cost $1 to make a hull once the tooling is paid for. Plus they don’t need to warranty chips and cracks in the fiberglass. Proboat has no competition so no reason to make anything other than something that looks good for newbs.
@@PigglyWigglyDeluxe You do raise some valid points, i tend to sway to carbon or fiberglass but they have issues too as you pointed out . Maybe i am crazy, and some say i am, but i bought the Zonda because the UL was out of stock and yes its a crazy fast boat but i love Hydros and would trade for a UL19 any day of the week as long as its still fiberglass ignoring the obvious issues you mention.
Big B , you blew my mind . I was super excited , I came to your channel to tell you about this boat . What did I find !!!!!! Your video on the boat !!!! You are ahead of the curve , my Man . So happy to see your video . My friend , 50 mph on a big boat like this , with so much real estate inside , is not doing it for me . Let’s get started on Ironclading it , putting in 8s and higher , high rake props , castle ESC, etc etc . I’d love to see you blast it . Let’s get to 86mph and higher . Really looking forward to your series of videos on this one . Go for it , buddy ! I am routing for you !!
Yesterday it was about small size monos, and the next day, its the release of this 48" Pro Boat! I love the smart engineering of the lipo tray and the rudder integrated in the strut. I cant wait to see you upgrading this boat to reach some real speeds. Man, I need to build a big mono myself some day, too 😎
I've been waiting for a good big v bottom rtr boat to come looks like pro boat did their home work. And the perfect rc boat dude to world premiere it! Your the best rc boat video producing human being.your work is appreciated! Great video, fellow human being.
I've been holding out for something like this. Just got a Recoil 18" but looking for something bigger but self-righting (especially after I tried out my rescue inflatable boat yesterday---want to reserve that for emergencies). Yes there is the Recoil 26", but too close to the 18" for the money. Blackjack 42 looked appealing except for the heat and the need for me to use the rescue rubber boat, so this could be it.
Man Big b, Pro Boat nocked it out of the park again!!!!!! Been waiting for something from them, now all we need is a Ul-19 in a larger scale, come on. And as always awesome review.
That’s a badass boat Big B, made for running in choppy waters. Should make for some great air catching videos 👍 and of course at some point we might just see how fast it can go, nah that will never happen 😉
That's cool they made a big boat to have fun with. I think all boats if possible should have self righting . One less thing you have to worry about when retreaving . Are you going to modify this boat for high speed. Also think the lights are a cool factor.
It's a great boat. I mean, look at this size and this speed is really impressive, especially considering the weight and compared to smaller RC boats in this class I got my hands on this Supersonic Wake 48 two weeks ago. But here in Europe the factory speed is only about 40/41 mph. I see it on other RU-vid channels in Germany and France. So far I've only measured mine at 40 mph, everything as factory with two Spektrum 4s 5000mah 100c Do you have any idea what the problem is?
Well I definitely got to get one but with that super low kv motor I think 12s is where it's gonna be at I can't wait it's just a little pricey I hope it's worth it. I'm sure you got yours given to you. You're lucky, Big B . Your boat inventory is really getting to be quite impressive 👍
Big B i didnt even know this was coming out man. Woooooow I'm going to order one asap. I was always wishing the sonic wake was a little bigger. I'm truly blown away. Wow man. Can't wait To see everything you do to it and the props you run.
Hey Big B. just curious but, Do you think the XlX2 hydra / pro marine esc Would provide better output power / Response for that 950kv motor? I can't wait for you to do your testing But, something has me thinking they should have put a 200a+ esc in the super sonic wake Instead of borrowing the Black Jack 42 160a esc due to the super sonic wakes aqua coefficient drag from its mass which is less on the black jack catamarine. Please let me know your comments. Im preordering one right away But I just feel like it needs some more push from the esc... That's a massive boat. Let me know what your thoughts when you can. 😊
So far the esc has been up to par, I've been running some huge props on it with no issues what so ever, does it need an upgraded esc, no will we put one in IT YES
Looks great, great performance, handling (as you already know) can use a lil work. Overall, excellent. My only 'question' will be how the polycarbonate hull holds up over time (compared to the ABS hull of the SW36).
Very nice you had the premiere B (as far as i know). It is a nice addition for people who dont know how, or want to build a boat BUT: i think these people also like to go fast. I think they were lazy at horizon. Very low kv motor so they didn't need to design any new electronics. Im curious to see what prop would get it to some decent speeds...
Great video. Can’t wait to get one! Question, how easy it is to to remove the flex shaft for greasing? The Blackjack was a pain and oh man that Jetstream (different boat of course) real PITA. Speaking of trim and sitting down, at least the blackjack cat, I found with trim and a little extra weight it helped it sit down albeit I lost a few mph top speed…
im still a newbie to boats. lovin them. im trying to watch all your vids. Back in the day, when i was a young lad. Using full sized boats, The group that we hung together, one of the things we did. Was polish up the bottom of the boat to slide faster. using fiberglass polishing compound, etc.etc.. i don't know if it did any good or not. im curious... wondering if you tried something like this or not. just a passing thought;. little on the ADHD side of me. keep up the great videos. there awesome and im learning a lot. Have Fun.
Decent looking ProBoat that’s already got the dual line cooling, the stainless prop is promising, I wonder 💭 if it has a lot of lift ? My concern is that a 950kv motor is way too low of rpm and would be a upgrade for the Harbor Tug 😂😂, ProBoat should of stuck with the 1350kv motor from the BJ42, awaiting further reviews 🧐☺️
If I hadn't recently picked up a 46" hull and built it up (thanks to your vids btw! Appreciate all the info you give and glad to see companies showing you love 👍) i'd be getting one of these lol... also safe to say I might have went overkill, 300a 6s-12s ESC and TP 5860 1440kv... 74mm 3 blade... pray for the first run it's about to be a handful lmao 🥲
Seems about 2 videos so far n it's a beautiful boat indeed but thing it could use more power for that size of a boat. Can't wait to see what upgrades u put in terms of esc n motor
A interesting entry from Proboat, with some unique and cool features. However, fundamentally I feel poly hulls should remain in the sub 30" hull length category. The amount of rippling on this large poly carbonate hull just screams it needs blueprinted. Not to mention I'd rather see a rudder mounted straight into the transom. A hull this size will be putting large loading on the rudder and that Z bracket will be leveraging that mount like none other.
Nice looking rig for sure, only thing I would rather see is a flat deck at the rear. So that you can tape the hatch all around, I see why Proboat did that reccess at the rear to let water out of the gully around the hatch, personally I would like the option to tape 100% around the hatch rather than obstacal's around the hatch edges like a lot of manufacturers seem to like to do. Small personal gripe though.
I gotta pay and wait for mine but I’ll have it soon. I like the speedmaster style rudder blade. Too bad they made it hard to tape on the back of the cowl area since I run in saltwater.
I pre-ordered this boat and it's been sitting in my living room for about 2 weeks now and finally took it out before it's made in run today..... can't believe how slow it is even with SMC 8600 150 C batteries. No way it hits 50. Maybe 40, but feels slower given the size. What prop does this thing need? It's so heavy it almost needs more power. My 36 is awesome amd fast. This was disappointing for a first run
Still learning what props this boat likes. I have a list of proven props in the description of this video with the speeds I've gotten with each prop ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zZ9_-ceUlZY.html
Agree, fiberglass looks nice, but eventually, spiderwebs, cracks, fades, fiberglass can be fixed painted and matched, where polycarbonate is tough to fix and match up.
Why doesn't it look 12" longer than the og sonic? It also doesn't look to be faster. I love the upgrades though. Wish they would come out with a V3 36.
Ya good thing !!!! We all want a 2000 dollar rtr boat lmao , lots of carbon and fiberglass boats but most of us don’t want to dump thousands in toy we play with a few times a summer .
Voltage telemetry on a boat is so annoying. The damn radio beeps within 2 or 3 minutes telling me that my batteries are dead but when I bring it back to check my voltage, it is not even under 4.0v per cell
Proboat DOES say what receiver is in it. Check horizon’s website. Yes, it will work with a DX5. PRB is the three letter abbreviation for “proboat” that is used to distinguish their part numbers.
Hey Big B!!! Ronald bay area ca Need a 24" .187mm flex cable For areo marine hydro and help With a fast electric set up. I have trouble finding the CG ,please help It ran best with a 4092 850kv on 8s.please give suggestions
It's nice when companies pay attention to their market base. That thing's a freakin' beast bro! And the self righting is a huge plus. Love that livery and the rooster lights, that's just icing on the cake 👍 BG4L 🚤💨
There is no one I would rather see introduce a new rtr boat than you bro. And you didn’t disappoint. Thanks Big B. 14:59 And that blue hull light ? Been running one since my 36” V1 SonicWake
Is this what you said we would be shitting about like a week ago? Hopefully HH hooked you up with those batteries. Thats like $1000 in 4 batteries. I expected over 200amp esc for a boat this big! Looks lie it was designed on the edge of performance like the SWv1 and v2 :(. Granted on 8s and a 950kv motor maybe it will be okay! hard to make that jump to 10s or 12s......
