$4k when you get all of the parts from the upper and lower. I like the idea of building a 416 clone, but that's a little too much over my price point. That $ could cover a crapload of mags, ammo and another training course, plus food and accommodations.
i don't understand why there promoting the BRN-4 (416) stripped lower receiver.. when they are nowhere to be found on Brownells or anywhere else as far as i can see.
This video is 4 years old. However, on the recent upper parts kit video, Caleb responded to a comment stating they will be bringing BRN-4 stripped lowers
They bought all of this hk stuff from zib militaria the forgings were 50% done and only cost 59 euro so they went ahead and marked the price up almost 4x. The parts kitsch also were fairly cheap at 999 euro and theirs are $3,500, in Germany the barrel is the registered firearm part so none of the kits they bought came with them. So most of this rifle parts kit they are selling is about 50% hk. If they were real they would buy the full barrel and gas piston setup for $1000 at hkparts.net. Not hating on them for anything they should just put it out there that it's not really a 416 clone. You can buy a complete hk 556 for $2400. I guess I may be a bit salty cause when I tried to buy 50 of the forgings brownells went ahead and bought them all, and don't even give other people a chance by selling them as 50s
My serial number is on the other side in the same spot the HK serial number "88-xxxxxx" is supposed to go, it ruins the purpose of a clone if you decide to engrave HK markings
Do you, or will you offer an 80% version of that HK lower without the Brownells engraving on the front? I'd like to do the full laser engraving, and they don't look right with that front engraving.
I tend to stick to Colt, BCM and LMT for lowers - which are closer to that price. The single time I decided to order a PSA lower, the rear hole was ever so slightly out of spec, but enough to make the rear takedown pin not work correctly, nor fit a standard upper - in that case a DD Mk18. So yeah, I'm sticking to quality now.
