Wow, this radio has some nice features plus a good retro look. I really like radios that have multiple ways to power up. This is one I would like to add to the collection. Thanks as always.
Started following this channel between 2018-19 with another account and bought the good ol' Tecsun PL-330. Unfortunately kind of lost track of the uploads and now that I have more time to watch i'm really glad you're still active, thank you for all the vids over time :) edit: that intro is timeless
You're Welcome! Glad to have you as a viewer. I've added extra items to the channel, since I have a hard time finding a new/old radios to review every four days :)
Love how you just sorted past a bunch of stuff for some good music... I got me one of these tonight, primarily as a survival item. It'll still be fun to check the local stations, for sure.
Not quite my taste in a radio but I love that the fantastic 18650 batteries are showing up in radios after taking over the flashlight world by storm about 10 years ago.
Beautiful !🥰🥰It’s just missing the Weather Bands I love the channel and content by the way 🤗💯🙏🏼🤴🏻🫡Keep up the great work Sir. I always look forward to the radio 📻 reviews.
I love that this thing can also play WAV. Flac would have been nicer but at least there's a lossless option. Also this TWS feature seem to be a nice idea but doesn't seem to work well because each radio has to be linked to as individual device to the Bluetooth playing device. Dunno how to pair them both so they actually do become twin speakers. Personally i don't really care for that feature as i never use Bluetooth audio at all but only Aux in if available. The radio is a real cutie and i love that it really can become a real Old time radio playback device with a good sound and a proper vintage look. Because that's half the fun :) For the whole retro Appeal i gotta this model and the J-160, that you kindly reviewed as well, are really a close match. And i love that the Battery is actually replacable and easily accessible without having to unscrew it.
Duffy's Tavern lol Is there a headphone jack included with this so I could hook up an external speaker? (I just saw that you mentioned it doesn't have that). Or, I really like the retro look, so could you possibly recommend any other similar models with same? I would also be interested in a lighted dial, but that's not really a big issue, I'm just thinking of night time listening, and it does look nice on the shelf. Not sure what led me here, I was just thinking about getting a radio over the past few days, and this is an excellent Channel. I've been watching videos all day.
Hi This radio has different name in UK Golon 3 RX-BT628 band radio with blue tooth but doesn't have solar panel , cost £20.00 Ebay. Good video bit too long.
People ask why I have so many radios and ask what the wires are that I have strung along the walls. I was used to hundreds of feet of antenna wire looped around my house when I was in the mountains for SW & ham band listening, now in the city apartment I have to string them indoors. If I get another radio it will look like a radio shop in here. I have the same thing going on with my cellphones which I use for anything but phone service. I like retro styled radios with modern features. Just added three cathedral/tombstone reproduction radios to the collection and am listening to an audio book through the Philco-Ford. The ones with line in on the back have the added benefit of connection with cellphone via RCA/3.5mm plug adapter for playing old radio show audio files through. The ones with cassette player instead of RCA input can be connected to cellphone with a cassette adapter. Just don't like using the old retro styled radios for listening to anything modern.
I'll do that in the needs to be improved section. Thanks. (Note, the MP3 Player remembers which track you were on, but not the position of the track. It will always start at the beginning of the saved track.)
@@todderbert Hey, thanks for that... I was just busting you... You do a wonderful job with all these radios and kit vids. You absolutely RULE on YT in this genre. No. 1! 👍👍👍😎🙏🐸
On the band selection switch it looks mislabeled. Like your switching to AM to get FM band. I’m looking at this for a 95 year old and it may confuse them.
Hi Todd, love the reviews. I have a 660, 880. 99700dx 7600gr. What do you think the best radio for ssb, shortwave and am is? I am kind of loving the s-2000 look, not sure if it's worth it. I had a satellite 800 that I sold years ago. My anniversary so it's no holds barred
I don't think anything was changed for 2024, maybe the battery? It will only run off the battery. The panel provides enough topping current to keep the onboard lithium battery charged.
The solar is for the 18650 battery. Only used to keep the battery topped off. When using Two D Cells, I recommend removing the 18650. I love this radio, and use it daily. I modded my positive terminal to accept flat top 18650s, which are plentiful..been working great on a battery pulled from a modem pack. An LG 2500mAh. Expect decent run times, since it pulls around 60ma at low volume.
