The rope tied on Tyr is most likely Gleipnir, the very rope/string crafted by the dwarves to bind Fenrir himself. Seeing as even Fenrir couldn't break free from it, Tyr most likely don't stand a chance to break the rope until Kratos comes along and cut it with his Blades of Chaos. The Blades of Chaos is the very item that breaks all the rules in this Norse mythos, seeing as it belongs to a foreign pantheon, the rules of the Nordic pantheon likely don't apply to it (such as being unable to create a blaze in Helheim), and thus is able to cut the supposedly unbreakable fetters. Also, on the part where no one worships Kratos, that is simply untrue, since he was worshipped by Sparta as the God of War for a brief period of time in the game. Sparta was likely destroyed along with the rest of the Greek pantheon and Mount Olympus, and is unknown if he still has worshippers after that, but we do know there are human survivors from after the destruction of Olympus. Whether or not Kratos is still worshipped by these survivors is unknown though, but we can assume that the pottery depicting Kratos's rampage on Olympus was made by the survivors, so he does have a place in the Greek myth lorewise. The person that Kratos is carrying and running @11:27 is likely Freyr, Freya's twin brother, seeing as how he is defended by the Dark Elves. Alfheim is a realm that is supposed to be governed by the Vanirs lorewise and so he is the God that the Elves worship in Alfheim (Mimir mentioned this briefly and fleetingly in GOW4 when you revisit Alfheim). He is probably the last Vanir God and is supposed to be overseeing Vanaheim and Alfheim but he goes missing, probably imprisoned by the Aesir, which causes Vanaheim and Alfheim to go into decline. My guess is that he is severely weakened and dying, for the light of Alfheim likely comes from him (Freyr is the Vanir God of Light), hence the Dark Elf King saying we made a mistake by helping the Light Elves. They might be trying to save Freyr, which is how the War for the Light in Alfheim comes about.

man i love how basically everyone said something along the lines of “Kratos saved the Valkyries in the previous game so they owe him a favor and will save him if he dies in Ragnarok” then this shit happens lol

Keep in mind, many of those scenes, if not all, probably take place at the beginning-mid story, as did the scenes from gow4 trailer, rarely did they show something from later, which may explain the blades and Mimir missing, he may have lost his powers from the previous game somehow etc etc One thing that caught my attention was Atreus meele fighting a light elf in the background, when Kratos is bashing one with his shield. Looks like he's using a sword? Or that may just be his bow but somehow enchanted

About the dual-wielding, I think it's gonna be the way it was in the previous games. No matter what weapon you had equipped, you would automatically use the Blades to swing from a point. So I think it's just that, but in this game there's the added animation of him holding the Axe. About the area with the red and blue sky, I first thought it was a place overlooking Chaos, the primordial entity from Greek myths from where everything sprang (if I remember correctly)

Zesty comin' in with a clutch, as always! The first person to make a breakdown of this trailer! Anyway, I want to address several questions you asked 1) This traveller looking enemy looks like some sort of elite Einherjar unit. You can see how Birfröst (rainbow) glows from swings of his spear/naginata looking weapons. You can also see other Einherjar across the chasm, who are shooting projectiles at Kratos and they have trail of Bifröst behind them; 2) No, I don't think there will be dual-wielding in the game. He uses one blade to grapple across the chasm and slams with Leviathan Axe. What they wanted to show you, is that Kratos can attack with axe too, using this grappling mechanic; 3) As you could notice, they show a new shield and I think it will be your favorite one (unless there is more)! From the looks of it, Kratos charges the shield (or it is already charged) and then rushes him (runic attack style) and launches him in the air to be juggled. MEANING this shield will be another way to launch and juggle enemies, maybe some enemies which can't be juggled with other weapons. EXTREME combat potential 😄😉 4) I believe Kratos is carrying Freyr (Freya's brother). Let me explain. As we know from GoW 2018, Elves worship Freyr and they are searching for him, because he was trapped somewhere (Kratos, Atreus and Týr travel from Svartalfheim to rescue Freyr - get more allies for the final battle). Look at his hair. It is THE SAME HAIR OF WOODEN FIGURINE FROM COLLECTOR'S EDITION (they are called "Vanir Twins"). AND NOW THE FACT THAT DARK EVLES DON'T ATTACK KRATOS, AS YOU MENTIONED. Basically, Kratos rescues Freyr and Freya is chasing after them, trying to stop them using Seidr magic (roots); 5) No, it is not Valhalla. Audio description says that these birds are ravens and area itself is reminiscent of the World Tree - only now it is frozen, due to Fimbulwinter and upcoming Ragnarök; 6) Personally I don't think that giant jellyfish is Atreus, but we'll see; 7) I don't think you asked this question, but many people do. Kratos doesn't have his blades in some scenes. It makes me think about the beginning of the game. What does it mean? I believe Eric Williams or someone credible mentioned that Blades of Chaos are still a grim reminder of Kratos' past and he doesn't like to use them that much (unless absolutely necessary) a year ago or so. It means that Kratos will have fair 1v1 with Thor. Leviathan Axe VS Mjölnir (remember that axe has "eitr imbued" from World Serpent). Now, where is Atreus and Mimir there you ask? We can judge by the trailer that Atreus and Mimir are somehow at home. THIS is the moment Odin comes to their home, while Kratos is busy with Thor. There Odin manipulates Atreus to make a blood oath - the same mistake Kratos did with Ares centuries ago. Only Kratos did it out of desperation, but Atreus did it out of fear, to protect his last living family member. This whole blood oath is a wild card for the story and probably will be the catalyst of Kratos and Atreus parting their ways in the end of the game. Where does this blood oath info is coming from? In Norse Mythology, Odin and Loki made a blood oath. I don't remember the details, the important thing being, is that they had to somehow implement this in GoW story. Atreus: "Everyone keeps their secrets. Sometimes it is the ONLY WAY to protect those you love". Kratos: "What is it you will not tell me?" Atreus: "I can't tell you but you just have to trust me!" Kratos: "All that matters is that you are safe". Atreus: "But it isn't. What about you?" Kratos: "I do not need you to protect me" Atreus: "You sure about it?". See? Sorry for wrong quotes though; 8) Last but not least. Kratos' face when he drops his weapons. His expression... he is not giving up, but he is deeply discouraged by something, this solemn look screams something has happened, like he regrets something. Maybe it is after he allegedly kills Freya (the scene where he is in blood he looks down in regret and above him is a red leaf tree from Freya's forest) or something else... Perhaps new weapon? New ability unlock? Rage upgrade GoW 2 style? Playing character change? So many questions, so little answers. Phew, I think that about wraps it up! I am deeply sorry about any typos or maybe misconceptions, I tried to be as elaborative as possible. Hopefully you read it Zesty and other GoW fans and tell me what you think! EDIT: Forgot to add. It is NOT dragon Kratos & Atreus ride in. It must be one of dwarves' cableways. Remember Game Informer teased other means of transportation? Well here it is! If you still don't understand, remember the lifting platforms from the beginning of GoW 2018

The scene with two Valkyrie look very similar the realm Ares sent Kratos in GOW 1 when he had to fight copies of himself to protect his family

i had a lot of problems with previus game and its generic snow enviroment but this trealer is something else. So many different scenes and places, makes me hyped for the game.

This trailer is very revealing! They only know of Kratos from the stories told by the gods. "What do you know of godhood... Have you ever been worship... could you imagine that much love"- Odin. Odin don't know Kratos was a full blown god when he was younger that received worship & love, praise from his worshipers. Kratos also experienced all of godhood (sitting on throne after killing Ares) and lost it all as well(GoWII when Zues kills Kratos, after he seen Zues killing "almost" all his worshipers his final words was "you will pay..."). Kratos experienced all of godhood and lost most of what the Nordic deities consider godhood. None the less Kratos is still a God-Titan hybrid. The ashes of Prometheus are still bonded to his skin, seed of the king of the gods"Zues" and still have the power of hope after giving it to humanity. The rage mode of GoW 2018 and GoW Ragnarok the fire aura in rage mode is the same as "Rage of The Titans" the only difference is Kratos isn't molten lava. This game will be basically GoW III

I'm pretty sure that "dual-wielding" is just you being able to use the grapple points without having to go out of your way to switch to the blades, it's just the animation taking into account that you already have the axe equipped and can lead into an aeriel attack. I'd love to see dual-wielding in a combative context but I doubt it.

Yes!!! You're the first one who talks about it, where's Mimir?? Also, yeah, the Spartans worshipped Kratos, we see that in GoW 2 and in Ghost of Sparta, when we actually go to there, in the city of Sparta, everyone worships you and they're even destroying Ares's statue to make yours. But I just don't think Kratos ever gets to enjoy or manage that life beyond his vision as a Spartan leader.
