I've lost 6 shrimp tanks, usually feed my babies and then start at a first one sitting and take some time checking every animal and look for any abilities. So Monday two weeks ago, I washed my claws and started feeding. When I reached my 4th tank of my set of 10, I looked at the tanks I fed. The shrimps went crazy jumping in all directions. Some of them lying on their backs kicking. None of the other fish or snails had no issues. I lost about 100 + shrimps, very, very good lines, popping babies at least. I couldn't figure out how this tragedy happened. Did 50% water change.. Rinsed filters. Crying about this disaster. Then I sat down in Sherlock mode. I put Bravecto on my dogs. Really sticky stuff. Had to wash with benzine and everything else...I pet one of the dogs on the head walking past. Then the penny dropped. I put my hand in the food I was busy to feed with. Obviously the dog still had the Bravecto on them. Every shrimp tank was flopping around. It was neurotoxic reaction.. I could only watch them die.. I always become OCD when but I froze. Please tell the rest of you people to avoid situations like this. Have a good day my friend! ⭐
I have heard of this happening with everything from soap to lotion to petting dogs with flea meds ... I'm so sorry to hear about this 😔. I've lost some of my colonies suddenly from "radom" events like that also.i know the frustration and pain. Again. I'm so sorry to hear you are dealing with all that. Activated carbon/aquachar/ Charcoal is really the only thing other than a water change that will reverse toxic things in a tank unfortunately
Sometimes we learn the hard way.... Last week i lost 70 CW10 fry (gold laser corydoras), because I let a L-10A (red lizard whiptail) male hatch his egg in the same aquarium 😅 He looked happy when he came out after hatching all the eggs 😝
I can't believe you kept my interest in the beginning without talking about nature. I think your videos should continue to embody your unique vision - which is more evolved than modern day corner cutting and razzle dazzle editing. I think you're worth supporting, and I feel uniquely motivated to support you before anyone else since you so humbly provide the channel with so much. Happy to say, I'm an OFFICIAL Lurker 😎 PS I'm so excited about the FinDig, already preordered my shirt and ticket! 🎉
Football - you nailed it 🤙🤙 On the topic of keeping "rare fish". I feel like every time someone promotes rare fish, it is more like a promotion more then they are rare. For example, L-46 was really rare but many have them in Europe and are really easy to buy/get. They are expensive tho 😅 I think it needs to be clarification of rare: Rare kept / rare bred / rare in nature. Love the longer videos. Keep it up :)
Me again. May I ask how the tests went. Ignore if I overslept boundaries. I am going through a really difficult time having terrible pain. My fish helps me to focus on something else. Tuning in and listening to your channel does me a world of good and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Thanks my friend!
Sorry to hear that my friend. Pain is vicious. I know it all too well, also. The tests went okay.. I may open up more about things, but basically I'm waiting to form a game plan with my dr.s about some health issues. And as of now I'm still waiting on more tests in 3 months before we compare the pace of an issue I've got going on. Thanks for asking though
I've come around on the vertical streams. They suit streams like this where you can chat about random stuff and walk around showing us your tanks. IMHO
Wanted to share: I'm breeding blue Mozambique tilapia and bass in 11 dams on my farm. Interesting that South Africans don't eat tilapia, but higher up in Africa it's staple food with okra.
Tell me about it! I don't mind guns, I have hunting guns, but they're killing tools... fungi are food and or break down all the excess crap on earth lol
Agreed lol. To be clear, because I was adding up the life of the 30 yr loan...the house was 580k lol ( not much different since we got a loan at 2.25% thankfully). But anyhow, I agree with you, and the wild part is that in 3 years here the house is now appraised at 700 to 750 already. ( we live near a brand new subway line, that is the first metro line to actually service the suburbs of the city, and I researched the location for a full 2 years before we bought anything. The whole idea was to find a place with a monthly mortgage about the price of our rent cost prior to moving.
If you remember the specific isopod species you were referring to with the "giganteus" I'm curious. Like the deep sea one of is there some freshwater one I'm unaware of?
It's a freshwater...only a tentative ID By some professors I emails with photos... but they get a cm or so ....I know lake bakal and the ocean has like 18 inch species too lol...
@@Fishtory Ooooh yea I love the lake baikal amphipods, wonder if they can be kept and bred well in captivity, if so that would be super rad. (Same with the deepsea ones but as far as Ive seen they can't be kept/bred in captivity well)
I caught you right at the end. I’ll watch the whole thing though I love you man keep up the cool work all that shit, blah blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah blah blah blah blah blah.
Is there a way to make notifications for your lives make my phone ring differently than the other zillion notifications I get from RU-vid? I keep missing the lives 😢
I think I did an episode on it....or it's in my centerpiece plant list video with info if It wasn't a full on spotlight. But I love that plant...great plant...also it gets huge if it has room
help please and thank you…. in your video at around timestamp 102 you mentioned a Cichlid. What is the name of that Cichlid? (((Im super dyslexic, but I’m sure other people have the same issue as me))) I know you mentioned it in the video but I don’t know how to spell that and here’s an idea. I don’t wanna make your job any harder but I think this would help a lot of people who watch your videos if you could put in your description a list of the fish that you talked about and also a list of the plants, I believe a lot of people would appreciate that….you do a lot for us already. I know this is one more thing…. appreciate it thank you so much for everything you do keep it up.
So I truly appreciate it. Thanks for your support. But the membership on youtube that has slightly different perks...mostly just that I ask polls to members and share photos or clips of extra stuff or content I'm watching unrelated to fish that's interesting to me, from time to time. That's 1.99 a month and you have to go to my youtube channel home page and say "join" or "become a channel member". During live streams you have to exit the chat to find it...it's different on mac/android laptop and phones lol....terrible system honestly. I unlocked all the audio Playlist content for you manually via email on the PayPal. But if you want to be in the youtube specific system then yeah it'd 1.99 a month and clicked while on my channel's home page of just my past videos or during live streams. Again. Sorry they make it confusing
