It certainly is, only down side it does struggle on tighter curves but otherwise its brilliant

I do like it, the lights show up well for night-time running. Why don't you give up some of your models and free up some fiddleyard space? There is one type of unit train, which will easily go over the points without problems: the smaller 108 DMU. However, I still prefer steamies as you know. Happy steaming, whenever a steam engine runs on your railway.

Thanks and I am planning on having a little clear out at some point, I'll run some steam soon.

Looks like a great model. Have a few DMU’s as my layout is only 9X5. To new for my era I’m a few years behind…..Regional Railways. But looks great 👍 Subscribed 👍

thanks mate, am sure theyl do one in that era eventually, they are really nice models, the regional railway pacer might be a good one to look out for ;)

Hi Tom, I was quite tempted to buy one (but )when you said it won’t run over set track points I would say 90 % of layouts have set track points you’ve got express points in your station area have you tried filing down the plastic bits so the locos don’t jump I’ve done mine and solved lots of problems cheers Al

Hi Al it did confuse me at first as it states on there website when I ordered them, minimum radius 2nd and setrack points were classed as 1st radius so am not sure I did notice it looked abit tight on some of my curves and my minimum on the main layout is 3rd radius, so I didn't risk trying it on setrack points, luckily my external fiddle yard is express points, I now what you mean most people have setrack certainly to start with like I did, I think I'll have to do what you suggested with the express points as it does affect some locos, how did you file the inner bit down without damaging the sides, thanks for your input and for watching. Tom

@@northwesttrainsmodels hi Tom, I used a flat needle file on end just do a bit at a time and it does the job 👍 cheers Al

@@northwesttrainsmodels Hope you two don't mind me coming in on this but what exactly is a setrack point , I have a few Hornby standard points that don't give any issues with my 150's ..........Peter

@ChapelEndJunctionUK it's a bit confusing on real tracks website, they state that the minimum radius for the 156 is 2nd (438mm), but also states setrack points are 1st radius, I think its to do with the close coupling on the bogies, my inner track has a standard 3rd radius curve just before reaching the station and the 156 had derailed on that a few times and I could see it was struggling on that curve a bit, that's why I haven't risked running it into my inner track fiddle yard, we're there is 2nd radius setrack points

I'm quite interested in these but haven't dipped my toe yet, is that Northern DMU in the current day livery?
@northwesttrainsmodels
@northwesttrainsmodels Год назад
Hi yes current livery, the last shot of the real thing at the end of the video I filmed last month at Liverpool South Parkway, different route to my one as the 158s have taken over the Leeds to morcombe route, I can recommend them aslong as you have atleast 3rd radius curves.
