New Registration Process for IENs/ECA/NCAS/BCCNM 

Thanks so much for this video, some clarification. If I want my report to be sent to Bccnm, do I only send my nursing qualifications or I have to include my secondary school qualifications

@chosengeneration382 for your report, you need to use ECA( education credential assessment) such as ICAS, ICES, WES etc to evaluate your transcript first, the result will then be forwarded to NCAS for final evaluation before BCCNM receives it. For ECA evaluation, you'll need your O'level result and nursing certificate with transcripts

There's nothing to worry about. I'd just advise you to call Ncas assessor to verify if they've received your evaluation report, then wait until they issue their final report and finally send it to BCCNM regulatory board

RN licensure is different entirely from immigration, BCCNM is responsible for licensure while IRCC deals with immigration.

Which province do you intend to reside in cos Ncas is basically for whoever wants to practice in British Columbia

Yes ma,I intend work in BC . Even after passing the NCLEX doing still need to go through all that you have explained.

@suzanigbokwe1306 in that case, I'd advise you to contact BCCNM via email or phone call first to ask if you can apply directly with their regulatory board without going through NCAS since you already passed Nclex. Otherwise, I'd advise you to register with CRNA without going through any evaluation body, get your license as Alberta RN then transfer directly to BCCNM.

There's no specific time, though. It all depends on when they receive your documents and reports from ECA, then the NCAS team will assess your reports, send it to BCCNM , and finally decide on when to schedule you for CBT and SLA once you've had the proof of visiting visa.

Thanks for watching 👀 CBT can be taken in any part of the world once there's a Prometric centre that conduct such exam. It's only the SLA that you need to travel to Vancouver to take. Time frame in between the two depends totally on your preference Lastly, NCAS completion doesn't guarantee you to write NCLEX, final decision to write nclex solely depends on the nursing regulatory board if you've met all requirements

You have to wait for NCAS ASSESSOR to give their report. While waiting for the report, it's advisable to create your profile with BCCNM so that it'll be quicker to forward your NCAS report directly to BCCNM

You can verify this with BCCNM. I'd advise you to apply with either CRNA or NSCN for easy transfer of your registration. I'm not sure if BCCNM will take your Nclex results to bridge any education gap( s) like other provinces

What I can say is that if you do need any exam completion in canada, it's the exam invite you'll tender at Immigration to apply for visa, this might be granted or not. 2. You actually need 0.5 more for reading but I'd say you can submit this to NCAS like that and see what they'll suggest. You can message me on ig @ o_funky1 and discuss about other options

You can proceed to do the cbt aspect from Ghana in any Prometric testing center and apply for visitors visa to Canada for the SLA part. If you're unable to challenge the assessment now due to any personal reasons, you can email them to know how long your profile can remain valid for so you can plan accordingly. On the other hand, I'd suggest you register with other provinces such as NSCN or CRNA but you might possibly need credential evaluation as I'm not sure sure Ghana is among the expedited countries that were exempted from credentials evaluation. SLA requires you to be present in Canada. You can try applying for job once you've initiated your immigration application such as PR, this can also boost your chances of getting nomination while waiting in the pool of you've secured a job offer

You can write it in any country that administers the exam e.g UK, Australia, Canada, US, Philippines etc

You'll indicate the body you want WES to send your report to when applying. You can put NCAS ASSESSOR for the requesting body. You don't need wes report for BCCNM

@balogunoluwatosin7091 for sure, you can add a new recipient but if it doesn't allow you, contact WES via email to change the receipt

For nova scotia, I'd say NO if your country is on the list mentioned on their website. Also for Alberta, there are various ways through which you can proof your language to CRNA, check out my latest post on that from my community post.

@ifeyinwaigboanugo6785 you have to create an account with NCAS then you'll have those documents send directly to them. Basically for NCAS, you need an online application, proof of English proficiency and credential evaluation report. Also, you'll create account with BCCNM which is your nursing regulatory board, a member of the regulatory department will contact you of the required documents and that's when you can now request for your verification of license and information from your previous employer. @ifeyinwaigboanugo6785 for NCAS, you need proof of English proficiency either celban or ielts, report of your academic training evaluation from either WES, ICAS, ICES, CES and you'll need Nursing skills and knowledge assessment through NCAS assessment ( this is in 2 part) 1. Cbt which can be completed at Prometric test centres 2. Simulated lab assessment which needs to be completed in Vancouver, BC, Canada- this will require you to travel to Canada 🇨🇦 Nothing like awaiting English result, once you create your NCAS application, you can send in documents as you have them at hand.

Once you've completed the form to request your transcript and certificate from your school, your school can either mail or courier the documents back to ICAS.

Thanks Nurse O for your clarification, it's easy to have my nursing qualifications sent from my institution but hard here in Uganda to have my o level and A level results sent since they are national exams and certificates only awarded by uneb. How do I go about that. Thanks in anticipation

@chosengeneration382 well, if you have a copy, you can upload it to your profile then ICAS can verify same by themselves. Although I know ICAS and CES usually don't request for O'level except for WES so just proceed with your nursing transcripts and certificate.

*The NCAS assessment* has two parts: a computer-based assessment (CBA) which can be completed at Prometric test centres around the world, and a simulated lab assessment (SLA) *which must be completed in Vancouver, BC, Canada* (Meaning you must travel to Canada) This is basically use to assess your nursing skills and overall knowledge

You'll need to create your NCAS application so that you can quote your NCAS ID no on your WES application. You need academic ielts, I've dropped the link to access the required score by BCCNM in the comment section. Let me know if you need further assistance

It all depends on the need in the area but overall, getting psw won't be an issue as long as you have permit to work. You can search for job on Indeed, LinkedIn etc

Most PSW jobs on indeed or LinkedIn needs someone who’s already in Canada my question is easy to find job after moves into Canada without a work permit

Thanks for the compliment 1. Yes you can use employer reference form but if the assessor isn't satisfied, you may be required to provide more proof, so get prepared for this. 2. WAEC is mostly recognized compared to NECO but there's no crime in trying. You may be required as well to provide more document(s) to support it. 3.
