@@supersuzy1123are you referring to the consignment auctions? Where he sells other folks cards? I’m sure he’s not making 3-4x on anything compared to selling them on eBay.

@@commiehunter733 Comparible signed inserts have sold for no more than 25 dollars. I would fail to call that a good pull when you are almost paying 200 dollars for the item.

No surprise, its panini. Garbage product from a garbage company. Oddly enough, I woulda been happy with the shawn green as he was my favorite player growing up.

They’re worth like 20 bucks lol. Basically a low quality chip.

You're a collector. This is more about gambling on "products." I have the time of my life building vintage Pirates team sets. This is fun... but does nothing for me.

Difference is that you can get a life-changing card in football or basketball. A 7 figure card. You can’t get that in baseball. Not even a 5k card in baseball.

Never understand why modem hall of famers like him even appear in high end product like this. He signs thousands of cards per year. That isn’t even a hundred dollar card

pre-owned doesn't matter its just that these are very low quality and not expensive.

@@eric_in_florida I’m talking about the price of diamonds generally, not on baseball cards. Pre-owned matters very much when it comes to the value of jewelry.

@@TheOldSchoolExpert Nope still disagree. Diamonds and gold hold their value very well. Pawn shops make a ton of money by selling pre-owned jewelry.

Go buy a brand new diamond ring at Zales and then take it to a pawn shop and see if they give you over 20% what you paid for it. They won't. They'll pay for the gold, but the diamond loses something like 80% of its value. I have been buying precious metals for many years. I have about 1.5 kilos of pure gold bullion in my safe right now, and about twice as much silver. Yes, pawn shops will often give you spot or near spot for precious metals (even in jewelry) but they will laugh at you if you think your diamonds are worth anywhere near what you paid for them.

@@TheOldSchoolExpert You're confusing markup with value. The reason Zales charges so much is because of their insane markup not the fact that the stone is new. They're diamonds, they don't "go bad". A nice 1 ct diamond for example will always bring a decent price dependent on the current market. How many owners it's had is totally irrelevant.

Gambling is more about the thrill of potentially winning than actually winning, I think. How many are actually getting value in the end result? The value comes from the thrill of the chase. People like me would skip this and just invest in what they actually want.a
