They are available now on the Microtech Gear site. Available with s/e or t/e with partial serrations. I chose the s/e and they have already shipped mine to me. I have not seen one bad review on these. Microtech would never put their name on a piece of junk.

Mine just arrived today and its a beast, a highly functional high end cutting tool...this totally pisses on PM2's, ZT's, Benchmade, etc...no contest...worth the money...go buy one

In his response to the outcry Marfione mentioned that they needed to outsource in order to expand. Why China though? Could have picked Italy or Taiwan to produce this.

I dropped more than 1K for my custom Socom thanks Tony for selling me out! This model should be called the backstabber.

I'll be adding one of these to my Socom collection. My Deltas have been my favorites for a long time, but I'm really liking the look of these!

I'm truly disappointed. Aerospace, and precision machine shops all over the USA would do anything for this contract, but instead have to close their doors as the work goes to China for a bigger profit margin.

this rike made knife comes in at the same price point as the socom elite used to. Knowing it was cheaper to manufacture in china, this maximizes profits for microtech. They will sell this model for a while and then release the USA made socom elite for a $150 premium....

Its ironic to me that there are official Microtech videos on how to spot a clone Microtech from China on some of their models, speaking on how they use lesser materials,etc. and now the "infamous" SOCOM "colab knife" is being made in China?...just makes me cherish my USA made SOCOM manual even more now. People can say," its like having a $2000 knife for $350 if Microtech made it here in the States"... but It's Not, Its made in China. Microtech doesn't actually make it. So my question now is how much does a "Good" knife cost in China, comparable to a genuine USA made Microtech?that it what I'd wonder...either way Goodluck Microtech🙏

Hopefully no one needs to warranty their knife in 12 years or so. I have a 2008 Ultratech, I called asking about paying them to replace the blade and broken main spring. They won't do it because it's too told. So apparently "lifetime" really means "until we change the geometry" or "until we decide it's too old". I distinctly buying a product with a lifetime warranty. I have other Microtechs that old and older that are still operating, so they're still within their lifetime. I've spent thousands on Microtech products and was about to spend more. However, I will NEVER purchase another one of their products again after the girl I talked to told said they can't help me.

I had a DNA kit made for myself and I have Chinese DNA. Also, Japanese, Vietnamese and Peruvian, among others. I don't care where a knife is made as long as they are knife makers.

The truth is that it's impossible to not buy products that are made in China (mobile phones, TVs, computers and most other consumer electronics, plus tools - so many tools). However, there are items in which we in America do have a choice, and pocket knives clearly are in that category. Each U.S. knife maker must decide what it will do when it comes to China, and we as consumers get to choose, as well, by either buying or not buying that knife. I won't be buying, because I expect Microtech to be a 100% U.S. manufacturer. I wouldn't buy a "Made in China" Stitch, for example. I wonder what Greg Medford's take is on this?

The last Socom Elite didn't even use real carbon fiber inlays, it used carbon fiber stickers. (See 20:42 on the Neeves Knives video "MICROTECH SOCOM ELITE REVIEW HARD USE? SHARPENING!") Microtech is tricking customers into thinking that they're still using the highest quality materials. They're not. They're taking inspiration from Chinese counterfeiters in designing their knives now.

Guys this is made with titanium and carbon fiber. The usa socoms are aluminum. This is way better materials unless you want to pay for a marfione socom that's $2000+ with titanium and carbon fiber :-) materials have different costs.
