After Tears of the Kingdom, the Zelda devs need to focus on PORTING THE REMAINING 3D Zelda games, being Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD, to the Switch before remastering the 2D games
Sure but Link to the Past is probably most like TOTK. I love the idea of them doing what they did to links awakening with it! And honestly before the others. Tbh I want them all now!!!
Back in 2018 or 2019 Nintendo said they were committed to releasing a Zelda game for switch each year. And as far as I can tell it’s been true. Links awakening, Age of Calamity, Skyward Sword, and now Tears of the Kingdom next week.
100000000000000000% agree bro. And to make it better, make Orre actually have wild Pokémon. I mean yeah it's a desert based region and back then they weren't making new Pokémon for every game or anything but still, it's time to rectify the fact that there's a second USA based region that gets absolutely no love and is considered a dead wasteland where plenty of Pokémon could still exist and flourish within
Its 2023 and two GameCube games are still BY FAR the best looking 3D Pokemon games. Only GameFreak’s incompetence and laziness could manage such a feat
I never played that one only gale of darkness mainly because of the updated everything but I do agree the first one was good as I saw gameplay of it and story
The two remakes I would love are A Link to The Past and Super Metroid. Would love A Link to The Past with Octopath Traveler graphics and Super Metroid looking like Dread.
I think the Oracle games are more likely to get a remake since they were based off the Link's Awakening engine and it probably wouldn't be hard to remake them using the same engine they used to make the Link's Awakening Remake. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they've been in production since the release of the remake as well, but Nintendo's been hush hush on them because they want the focus on Tears of the Kingdom until it releases. I also would not be surprised if they bring the remasters of Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess to the Switch or it's successor in the relative future as well. The only thing kind of making me think they'll probably not do the former 2 is that the original versions are on NSO, and Majora's Mask remaster wasn't received as well for some of the the changes they made to the gameplay, but I can see them putting them into a 2 games in 1 pack and fixing up the issues people had with Majora's Mask 3D. I definitely think Wind Waker and Twilight Princes HD are eventually coming to the Switch, but again they've been holding them back because of Tears of the Kingdom. We could see quite a few Zelda remasters/remakes release in the next few years with Tears of the Kingdom finally released. As for Metroid Prime 2 and 3 getting remasters. The rumor is they aren't getting the same treatment as Metroid Prime but will be more likely HD ports with the same control schemes as Prime remastered. That would be a bit of a shame, but I can see them putting most of their resources into the Prime Remaster and Prime 4, so if that's the case I think I'll be okay with it. 2 and 3 aren't as rough looking as 1 so they'll be fine if that's the case. I think what's likely to happen is that for every big Direct until Prime 4 gets released probably some time next year they'll shadow drop the release of another Prime remaster. I'm at least expecting a Prime 4 trailer at one of the directs this year. As for other remasters. Since we're on Gamecube games Skies of Arcadia Legends is rumored to be getting a remaster, and I hope that does happen. I've also been hearing Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door might be getting a remaster as well, I hope that's true as well. As for non Gamecube games I'm hoping the Baten Kaitos remasters means Xenosaga is getting remastered as well. With the popularity of the Xenoblade series I don't think Bandai Namco has the same "won't meet financial projections" excuse they had back in 2018, and I'd love to see everything included with that remaster. They need to remake Pied Piper and do something for a Missing Year as well, even if it's just putting the translated powerpoint files in the collection. Heck put the DS demake of Xenosaga I and II in there as well since that one is a bit more canonical to what they actually wanted to tell in the story, especially for episode 2.
To elaborate some more for people who haven't experienced MM3D versus MM64: MM3D specifically wasn't received well because everyone expected the same treatment as OoT3D: Minimal changes and a faithful recreation of the experience. However, they didn't just slap on a new coat of paint with a couple new features like they did with OoT, they went in and redesigned the game to basically remove a lot of what made it charming in the first place. I booted up the game the other day after having installed the MM3D Restoration Mod, and I hadn't realized how different the world itself was, even. The camera perspective feels different. Many climbable objects and ledges were changed to be unclimbable. The physics are entirely different feeling from the original game and OoT3D (which had seemingly original physics). I play OG Majora's Mask multiple times a week at this point via Randomizer, and MM3D just... it feels like picking up a different game. OoT didn't feel like that. They redesigned every temple boss, and they were all miserable in comparison to the vanilla versions. They moved convenience items so that you couldn't get them until after they would have been convenient (Stone Mask is the big one). They changed the literal canon of Anju being forgetful and had her remember that the guest coming was a Goron so that you couldn't get the Room Key as anyone but Goron Link. Actual parts of the original game that were intended and interesting were changed, just because they felt it was better to make sure the game was being played as they intended. They took the exploration, the discovery, out of the game. The way the Bomber's Notebook held your hand and could set alarms significantly reduced the attention you had to pay to time, as well as the ability to use Double Song of Time to advance to any hour before the next day instead of just in six hour increments. And who on earth thought it was a good idea to significantly reduce Zora speed unless you were spending Magic while also absolutely trashing swimming controls? Had players complained that Zora moved too fast and was too useful in water? The long story short is that they made a LOT of unnecessary changes to the game without asking if those changes should be made, or if they even improved the experience. It's like watching a certain M. Night Shamalan film adaptation of a certain Nickelodeon series: You can see the shell of where it came from, but so much is missing or changed just because they could. It leaves something to be desired and leaves you feeling just disappointed. I really do think it was detrimental how much hype built over the quality of the OoT3D remake. The anticipation that generated for MM3D to be on the same level buried it when it was kinda bad instead.
Same engine, yes, but the art style would have to be totally different. Though I'd like if they did the Oracle games and A Link to the Past in that engine but using an art style more like A Link Between Worlds but in HD, though using the same animated cutscenes as Link's Awakening had. I also think they should do a think where if you buy both Oracle game remakes, you get a brand new Oracle of Secrets game for free. Doesn't have to be full length, but at least a dungeon or two and some kind of linking story, to justify selling the two games at full price.
@@kevinphanhvilay8552 Since Nintendo owns the Zelda IP they would own the rights to the Oracle games not Capcom. Not to mention if there was a rights issue they wouldn't be putting the Oracle games and Minish Cap on NSO, so I don't think there's anything legal holding back a remake of the Oracle games.
@@PenneySounds I do prefer the Link Between Worlds art style, but I don't think they need to change up the Link's Awakening remake art style for the Oracle games. If they were remaking a Link to the Past they should definitely go with the Link Between Worlds art style though.
A remaster of Colosseum should at least include the same box count they had in XD to give it that update feel and a few other trinkets that let players get celebi and jirachi
Pokemon Collosseum is my favorite because of how different it is. It's darker and meant for a slightly older audience. The developers themselves didn't even know that much about pokemon and they still managed to make a great game! I'd pay whatever amount just to play a remake 😄
The GameCube games I really want to get remasters on the switch are Wind Waker and TTYD. For a while, I wanted the same thing for Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD. Even though it’s unlikely, I wouldn’t mind getting remasters of those games too. As for the Zelda games, A Link to the Past is an absolute must and the Oracle games deserve some attention as well. Fingers crossed. 🤞🤞🤞
Exactly remake not remaster. I don’t care for remasters like I do a fully rebuilt game. I feel remasters are just a money grab and a remake is a whole new perspective of a game you already love
Yes!! I completely agree. I'm sick of everyone crying over ALTTP when we already got ALBW 10 years ago. The Oracle games definitely deserve the remake treatment.
I still just want the ALREADY HD remasters of Twilight Princess and Windwaker on the Switch simply for the boon of having every mainline Zelda playable on the same console
You do realize that Nintendo is not working on a remake to The Legend of Zelda A Link to The Past simply because they already did one! Hello it’s called The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds. If they did that this would mean they made essentially a total of 3 versions of the same game. The original, the 3DS and then the one for the Switch. So let’s all put that theory to rest and say it’s definitely not happening.
Link Between Worlds a a very different game to Link to the Past. Its like saying Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild are the same game. Or Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Or Phanton Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. Or the Oracle games. You get my point.
One idea I always dreamt of is a remake of Kirby and The Amazing Mirror since it supported up to 4 player co-op, I think that game would be a blast to experience with online co-op support
Also have you Ben living under a rock? The long standing rumor of ports are 100% The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess from the Nintendo Wii U
Thousand year door number #1, for many, many reasons....it's a stone cold classic, post Mario movie hype, GameCube port trend, resurfacing paper Mario from the bad taste it's left recently, easy to develop, and well, instant profit for Nintendo, Boom!
Do you think they are still going to release prime 2 and 3 on the Switch even if it's just updated controls eventually like in prime 1 remastered. since their next console could be coming out soon.
Metroid Prime Remastered has been finished for years, and was just waiting for the right time to release it. Most likely, they are sitting on more finished Remasters/Remakes and like Metroid Prime Remastered, they're just waiting for the right time to release them.
Zelda could also receive Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask based on their 3D remasters. Also, likely going into wishful thinking, Twilight Princess. I'd love to see it in its original GC layout with its mirrored Wii version for a Master Quest. Also, I could see the Oracle games with Link's Awakening engine, and maybe A Link to the Past with the A Link Between Worlds' one?
I think it’s gonna be a link to the past + between world with higher quality graphics if they want a link to the past remaster. I think minish cap might be more likely though. However, we are getting ww and tp remaster port first
Ocarina of time is my favorite nintendo game of all time and I would love to see them do for that what they did for metroid prime remastered. . Mario 64, windwaker, symphony of the night, and pokemon gold/silver would be really cool too.
It's kind of sad that a single fan can do a proper Unreal 5 remaster of Ocarina in his spare time and the best Nintendo can do is keep re-releasing the same 90's era game over and over. I think the Wii-U remaster of Wind Waker is about as about as good as it needs to be. Now do Phantom Hourglass.
@@ieast007 I completely agree with what you said about ocarina of time. . That fan did an amazing job and nintendo should make a remake at least as good as that fan was able to. . I didn't have a chance to play windwaker, so, as a long time zelda fan myself, I'd just like a chance to play it on my switch and see what the hype was all about.
Would love to see Time Splitters 2 and the 1080 Snowboarding games get a port to the Switch along with the Acclaim game titles like Turok 1 & 2, Extreme G 1 & 2, and the South Park games from the N64. Conquers Bad Fur Day would be a welcomed port as well.
I'd rather Grezzo just make a new Zelda game using their experience from working on OOT3d and MM3d. Just make a sequel to MM with the same Link. People would love to see that version of Link get a new game.
We don't need another A Link To the Past remake, we already got that 10 years ago with A Link Between Worlds. Yes, it is a different story but it still serves as a remake in its own right. We need the Oracle games to get the remake treatment...Link's Awakening 2019 style.
The only reason they haven't rushed in, is because they want you to sign up for Nintendo Online. I think Turtles was smart with the Cowabunga Collection.

Pls no more remasters. Remaster means the original title will likely not come to NSO in a long time. N64 only had a very small library compared to any other Nintendo console, and Nintendo lost the rights to many of their titles such as Rare games or Disney/Star Wars games, putting their inclusion on the service up in the air. This includes 4 of the remaining Top 20 bestsellers (#8 Diddy Kong Racing, #13 Star Wars Episode 1: Racer, #14 Banjo Tooie, #20 Perfect Dark). After the current wave is over (Pokémon Stadium 2, Mario Party 3, Excitebike 64, 1080 Snowboarding), they can do one more wave of that scale with Smash Bros., Donkey Kong 64 and Hey you, Pikachu, and then they have to bring the GameCube, or face the problem of no longer having hype potential with home console titles for NSO. And if they remaster half of the GameCube's library beforehand, we'll be stuck with some Mario sports titles and Star Fox Adventures/Assault (which are great, btw) on NSO, and that's not enough.
It honestly makes more sense to make a Switch port of ALBW than Remastering ALTTP. The latter is already on SNES Online, and porting a more recent 3DS title would probably take a lot less time and money than remastering a 32-year-old SNES from the ground up. Plus, it just so happens to be ALBW's 10th anniversary this year, and Wind Waker HD, Twilight Princess HD, and Skyward Sword HD all released in their original games' respective 10th anniversary years. I honestly wouldn't mind getting a remaster of ALTTP, although I would only buy it if it came bundled with my proposed ALBW port, but that's just me...
LOL "Too much risk for the Pokemon Company". Even if they lost 50Mil They still have +90BILLION. hahaha I really wish PokeCo and GamefreakInc would employ more fans. Pokemon could be so fucking good with modern tech. I want an M15+ rated pokemon game with serious adult themes.
My Nintendo remastered game wishlist includes: TLOZ A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Metroid Prime 2 - 3, and as far as pokemon games. I'm wishing Nintendo gives us Crystal, Emerald, Platinum and a Pokemom Stadium Ultimate, which includes the entire 1,000+ pokemon roster.
The whole Metroid thing makes sense since “Pikmin 1 + 2” is being released before “Pikmin 4” comes out. That being said, I’m BEGGING Nintendo, PLEASE remaster or remake “Twilight Princess” and “Windwaker”.
Based on the Zelda fans I talk too they want ALL Zelda to be playable from the Switch with the exclusion of the DS Zelda's because its not really possible. Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD ports, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask polished and brought to the Switch. Maybe they could port the 3D versions and make them playable on the Switch. A Link to the Past done like they did Link's Awakening might be doable and profitable. I hang out in Zelda Discords and everyone is so pissed that people without a Wii U can't play Wind Waker or Twilight Princess. Many Wii U's have died in storage because there internal memory decayed. Gamecubes are an endangered species. It shouldn't be so hard to play two Zelda games.
I don't see any new/remasters for the Switch after TotK. I expect the WW and TP HD remakes to be available at launch for the next gen to help push sales since they've long been done/rumored to come and we'll perhaps a remastered LttP in the second year of the Switch 2's life cycle. In regards to Metroid Prime, I could see them being released every 6 months, with MP2 coming in August/September and MP3 just before the spring launch of the Switch 2 and then MP4 Christmas of 2024.
For as good as all this sounds, you gotta calm down a little bit, man. Two Zeldas in a year? If ALttP is in development we should be seeing it Spring 2024 at the closest, and 2 Metroids in 6 to 12 months is as plausible as squeezing lemonade out of a rock, specially since we just got Prime, even the simplest of games take at least a year to develop, even Majora’s Mask was developed in barely over a year and it is considered a miracle in the industry, not to mention the insane work schedule, the crunch and the way they had to cut corners, and it just gets worse when you consider release schedules and how one game can cannibalize another if it’s too close, even if it’s half a year. I know it’s all in good fun, but keeping expectations in check is necessary, I still remember people being irrationally upset that “BotW2” wasn’t released in 2018 cuz “Nintendo did it with Majora’s” or people sending death threats to Masahiro Sakurai because Waluigi wasn’t in Smash, and all because of RU-vid videos lik this. Keep it in your pants, people, these games are probably coming, just not right now, it’s okay to wait.
GameCube remasters are what I look forward to most. Imagine Melee Remix, that's what I want most. Thousand-Year Door too. As for Zelda, the Oracle duology is much more likely since it's most similar to Link's Awakening.
The problem with GameCube on Switch Online is that the games are around or more than 1 GB each. If you look at all existing consoles on Switch Online, the games are only up to a couple of 10 MB each: NES SNES N64 Genesis GB/GBC GBA So how will Nintendo solve that? It's about the limited storage on Switch and the need for very fast internet connection. I cannot see how Nintendo can solve this in a perfect way. So that's why I believe that Nintendo will re-release GC (and Wii) games on Switch as remasters. We already got some examples: Zelda Skyward Sword Super Mario Sunshine Super Mario Galaxy 1 Metroid Prime 1 ...probably a few more examples of ports. There's some GC games that I would love to see on Switch as remasters: Paper Mario "1000" Luigi's Mansion 1 Zelda Wind Waker Zelda Twilight Princess F Zero GX Super Mario Sunshine (re-release!) I would much rather see these games as ports/remasters than "Virtual Console" treatments or Switch Online. And speaking of Link's Awakening... That makes me ALWAYS think of the two Oracle games (by Capcom!). These two games would be perfect as a combo pack and same treatment as for Link's Awakening. On GBC these two Oracle games got the exact same graphical artstyle and so much in common, it's crazy! Before Metroid Prime 4 I really wanna see games 2 and 3 remastered! I don't care if that will delay the 4th game even more. I want game 2 and 3 before 4. But Zelda again... I don't expect any more Zelda game in 2023 after the release of TotK. Because TotK is THE game that Nintendo wanna sell before Xmas and they want as many kids as possible to get that game for Xmas 2023. In general the 2nd game on the same console will sell worse. There's at least one exception: Mega Man 2 on NES that sold better than the 1st game. BotW has sold almost 30 million copies and I expect TotK to sell around 20 million copies during the coming years. There's room for so many Zelda gap fillers between TotK and the next totally new Zelda game: Ocarina Majora Wind Waker Twilight Princess Oracle ALBW Minish Cap The two DS games I don't think Nintendo wanna remaster the first three Zelda games. They look really good as they do.
I think they should remaster A Link to the past,Earthbound, F-Zero X, Banjo and Kazooie, Golden Eye and Mario 64 and probably Super Mario All Stars but more importantly Super Metroid 3.
Dude. Don’t play with me when you mention A Link To The Past remaster. That’s like one of my favorite Zelda games!! EDIT: also I wish they added Super Mario Galaxy 2 to the switch 😞
This guy is talking about ALLTTP remastered but forgot A Link Between Worlds exists on the 3DS. The closest you will get is a port of that. What would be a real possibility is if they could use the Link's Awakening assets to remake Oracle of Seasons/Ages but that would probably require Capom to get a share of the cash.
I highly doubt they’ll release a remaster of A Link to the Past, as A Link Between Worlds, a direct sequel of ALttP, released in 2015. In reuses the same world as ALttP, and if they were to remaster ALttP, there would have to be major differences from A Link Between Worlds for me to even consider buying it.
I don't want a ALttP remaster.. there's no sequel coming up tied directly to it, and with it's darker theme, I think the art style don't transfer well to the Links Awakening style. We had A Link between Worlds, but the style is.. kinda lacking something. Hard to put into words. I will buy it though. Anyway, if you expect Nintendo to do something, they won't (most of the time)
Who else would rather have Nintendo focus their resources on a NEW top-down Zelda game instead of another remaster of something we already have/could've just been ported to the Switch? I honestly see no reason to remake ANY top-down Zeldas but it seems especially odd to want to remake Link To The Past which has aged considerably well and really has no reasonable need to be remade. Especially true when you consider its sequel, Link Between Worlds, which is already a soft remake of that game's world.
I'd like the Oracle games and a reimagined original LoZ/Zelda 2 to get remakes. Link to the Past can wait a while longer and I wouldn't mind Grezzo handling them all. Other remakes I'd love to see the Metroid games from Zero Mission through to Fusion get the Dread treatment As for remasters, Metroid Primes 2&3 and Wii Punch Out are on the top of my list!
A game that would need a port/remaster for the switch is KIRBY AIR RIDE istg. It's perfect for the switch, one of the best couch multiplayer games out there. So sad I couldn't play it on my switch.
I think you’ve severely underestimated the complicated relationship Nintendo has with Pokemon / Game Freak. Gamecube Pokemon games are likely never seeing the light of day again. Game Freak wants them buried.
No, I don’t think links of the past need remake The game has age really wow I would remake legend of Zelda 1986, and Zelda 2 adventure of Link I would remake them to and super Metroid does not need remaster. The game has beautiful graphics and the colours still look nice. Today super Nintendo games Don’t look out dated today. They still look really good today
I would most want all the Toon Link games to be on Nintendo Switch, whether it is via a port, remake, or remaster, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 as a port. As for additions to Nintendo Switch Online, Super Mario RPG and the 1st generation Pokémon games would also be a nice addition to the standard/basic Nintendo Switch Online Package.
There is a big difference in remastering a game and remaking the game and this guy certainly don't know the difference. One great example is "Zelda's Link's Awakening" that is a remake, a new game from scratch and not polished graphics. The game is totally different from the original, so please stop saying "Remaster" to mean "Remake" just say the correct word, "Remake".
Oh man.. don’t tease me with A Link to the Past remake. I still remember the moment as a kid when I got that game for Christmas. I remembered going to school and the other kids refused to think someone was cool until we beat that game. I remember playing it for a couple weeks and coming back to school saying “Hey I beat Zelda, do you guys like me now? 😂😂😂 being a kid
Just because I'm old school I would like to see a remake similar to Link's Awakening for the original Legend of Zelda NES version and a Super Metroid remake similar to the Prime remakes. Just my opinion.
They need to stay away from Pokémon remakes from now on they have been absolute buggy garbage especially bd/sp. the Zelda remakes have been good for the most part probably because they actually care. The Pokémon company poop out glitch filled 12 fps games
Why do people want to shove their hard earned money at a company that makes way weaker remasters than originals? I mean is Majoras mask any better on a 3Ds than on n64? No, they made to many bad changes. Do you think links awakening for switch is better than the old one? Maybe they polished up the look, yet they underdelivered on the game… it’s not running very fluent and it looks just cringe… They should either make games how they were or just leave it…
Metrìd Prime: remastered is a nasterpiece. For 40$ it's a steal. It's the same gamr but with much better graphies, contrôle and music. If is the best single player first person shooter ever made It beats Halo.
I know it would never happen... But if phantasy star online and Sonic Adventure 2 were to be remade I would quit my everything and never turn off my switch.
Metroid multiplayer needs two additions: - The host should be able to dictate which controls are allowed (so you can have gyro matches for example) - Each player needs to be able to set a health handicap like in Smash Bros. The Gamecube multiplayer provided way too much health to the players making every duel a tedious chore. If players could fight at 20% of that hp the game would be more strategic and maybe newcomers can be allowed some more.
It's actually a inaccurate to call Links Awakening a remaster. This was more a faithful remake designed to produce the same experience. In order for something to be an actual remaster, it MUST be built off of the original in some way. Yes built off of, not BASED on the original. The difference means a lot. With Links Awakening, it's based off the original, but doesn't use a single asset from the original, not even the code. In comparison games like Metroid Prime and Crisis Core, use their original counterparts as a foundation, or to be even more clear, the skeleton of the original is still present in some way. Whether that be in the code, the animations, or even a model. That's the very definition of a remaster, taking the original and sprucing it up. It's basically the same as giving a person an operation followed by a makeover. Underneath all the visual changes lies the exact same person you knew before, they just look better. I can understand the confusion and why people would call Links Awakening a remaster. After all the world layout, gameplay, and story are all the same. But those things don't have any bearing whatsoever on whether or not something is a remaster or a remake. The only thing that matters is if the game was made completely from scratch or if the devs took the original and adjusted it. If they adjusted the original then it's a remaster, plain and simple as that. It's just rare to see a faithful remake. Resident Evil 1 Remake is almost a faithful remake, but there are still deviations from the original that prevent it from being exactly the same in the way that Links Awakening is.
Remasters are pointless. We need sequels to old original games or added content. Not even trash master quests but actual content with the original style and story. Why would i want remastered they jist want to sell it to kids. They already ported most of it to there emulators. Pokemon colluseum was trash. 1 path with 40 trainers to battle. You got to be kidding me. If anything they need to update the damn games to not such and feel better instead of slow sluggish games for everyone instead of just kids. Otherwise why would i pay for nintendo games.
Playing Pokémon Colosseum with remastered graphics would be so cool. Finally we will be able to play one of the best spinoff Pokémon games ever made anywhere we want.
I've only played through Prime 2 once. It was right when the game released. Didn't even replay when I got Prime Trilogy. Only thing that would get me to fire it up again is a Remastered version to be honest. I don't think Prime 3 really needs anything done to it
I think Nintendo has announced everything for the holidays at their june showcase the September showcase will probably be an indie direct mini or something. When Nintendo did a September direct they didnt do a summer showcase so i think we know everything coming out 1st party this year
