It is so good to see you back looking happy and healthy. You looked so distraught in the last video of 2021 that I kept checking to be sure I hadn't missed an update. The time off seems to have served you well. Happy travels!
I’m no longer living RV life and have cancelled most of my RV RU-vid subscriptions. Your videos feel more like checking in on an old friend. Glad to see you looking so rested. 💚
Hi!😉 Congratulations on your Lance Camper! New fun, new challenges. We have a 2018 Lance 995 camper. A big boy but not as long as yours. Also on a one ton dually. We replaced it for full time living to a Lance 2465 trailer because I went to emergency falling out of the bed in the camper. Could not move my neck for 2 weeks. Fell off a stool trying to clean microwave above stove. If you are athletic and outdoorsy you will be fine ( and there is no good solution to getting in and out even when you buy new stairs, especially when on the truck.Too high) We still have our camper and when the stars are right we switch off for a vacation when we don't want to pull the trailer. I loved your last 5th wheel but for me, too much to clean and storage too high. My husband loves his camper and will never part with it and I hope you have as much fun with yours. Please be careful. Think I saw you in Hat Creek Ca at a truckstop for a moment. Maybe just wishful thinking on my part.
I am so happy for you! I made the same decision a couple years ago for the same reasons. I now keep my 40ft fifth wheel as a home base, but use the truck camper for all my traveling. At first I wondered if I was crazy, but now wouldn't go back. I LOVE IT. I can get into tons of places including parking easily. Here is my propane tip as I had the same problem: go buy 20lb bottles and use them instead of the big ones. Propane lasts a long time in truck campers so you won't notice the bottle size, but when you do have to fill up, they are so much easier to lift. Also, I got rid of my steps and bought a three step aluminum step ladder from Home Depot - wide steps, super light, and I can use it for doing things outside the rig. Anyway, have a wonderful time!
It's so nice to hear excitement in your voice again! You were my go-to person for all things RV when I first hit the road 3 years ago. I'm so happy you're back!
First, I have missed you ! Happy to see you well, happy n rested. I agree with you need to role with life n keep focusing on living the life you want. I totally understand that ! I know that sometimes we second guess ourselves but I wanted to say this to you… there is something very unique about you, your ability to share yourself with all of us. I never had so much fun n sense of purpose then sharing ourselves together in this journey of RV life. I am loving it 🥰 N I am very happy to see you again Living your life on your terms again ! God bless You never know we just might run into each other, plan on traveling this summer few trips in mind. Saving for gas ⛽️
It's so good to see you again! So many changes in the last 2 years. I'm happy for you with your new truck camper. You seem free and happy again! Live it up!
There are so many appealing things about a truck camper. I love the idea of being self contained, ready to go, and nimble. I’m so happy to have you back! Thanks for the video.
I'm so happy to see you traveling and enjoying your journey again. Sometimes we just need to hit pause, and reset some things in our lives. I love your truck camper. I know you will find lots and lots of beautiful places to explore and share with us. Happy Travels, be safe.
Your statement is so profound and so very true. It allows us to evaluate where we’ve been and where we’re going and to make necessary changes. Thank you
Robin, We missed you sooo much. I am so excited that you are back. I love your truck camper even better than that fancy fifthwheel. Looking forward to a lot more great content from you going forward. You were my first nomad that I learned from ( after Bob Wells)
Hi Robyn, we haven't commented much on here, but we watch you religiously. We watched you before we even had an RV and we still watch you now. Great to see that you are well and back on the road. So glod you are happy. See you soon!
Yay! Btw the convection oven would have taken the place of your air fryer. It's what makes your microwave an oven and the convection part means that it circulates hot air exactly like an air fryer : )
Robin, I’m so glad to see you back. It will be interesting to see how you change some of the things you aren’t fond of in Kermit. It will also be great to see more of your travels. The nomad life isn’t for me, but I DO like to travel and I travel on my own. So Veronica, my little teardrop allows me to more easily camp as I get older. Best to you. Susan from North Central Idaho.
Sweet rig Robin!! You will be able to get to awesome destinations now. Glad Big Boy loves his new home! Stay safe out there. Happy you are posting again after a much needed break. 🚚
Your hairstyle and hair looks the best ever. Must admit your last video did not surprise me at all when you stated you got a new rig that it was going to be a truck camper...many seem to be going that way. Or that you and your boyfriend separated, hopefully you can still be good friends. Nice to see you're having fun....that's what it's all about after all! Be well, take care.
This is INCREDIBLE!!! It’s essentially like a van! This is Super inspiring to know campers look like this, as I’m more acquainted with the pop-up style of campers, that are more like hugely upgraded tents.
I have missed you Robin!!! It is good to see you and Big Boy!! Love the new rig and looking forward to the future with you!! Take care and happy travels!!
YAY! YOUR BACK! LOOKING GREAT!! As you should notice, there are 72,000+ views on this page, cause we MISSED you so much!! So COOL that you are going the EASY WAY for a simpler life. Good to see THE BOY too!
Never would've thought of a truck camper!! Great that you can get to off road places tho!! I love the Lake Havasu area. :). Also love the boy's pass through. Perfect!!
Have always loved your channel with all the great, honest, & useful info! When we decided to get an RV, your channel really gave us the confidence to move forward and do it. Even though we thought, and even started the paperwork to buy a fifth-wheel, we ended up getting a truck camper instead. But we could still relate & enjoy your videos, nice. But now that you got a camper, we cant’t wait to see what you do & where you go, YIPPY!!! This is gonna be fun, we know you bought the camper just to make us happier, thanks!
Hey lady welcome to the world of truck camper living! I live in an alpine light on my three quarter ton extended cab Silverado. One of the most important of skills 😜 I have mastered is truly appreciating the customer service I have been given at tractor supply for taking fantastic care of me for propane. Mine are 4lb horizontal tanks and I am 4'11"and 100lbs at 67 years young. I just passed my 5yr mark ‼️ Happy trails and stay level AND don't drive in high winds.💪. 🤗🇺🇦💙💛💜
I love it Robin! I've long thought this would be my choice of rigs if I ever decided to pull the trigger. I REALLY like that you've got access not only for the boy, but for yourself if you need to get our if there for safety reasons. And, having a truck as a separate unit from your home is another layer of securing your home should your truck need maintenance / repairs. I say it's a winner winner chicken dinner!
Wow, I never would've guessed a truck camper! I'm surprised how roomy it is. So did you keep the 5th wheel too and just leaving it stationary? I'm looking forward to next weeks video. Thanks for sharing your travels!
This is so awesome! I was thinking that maybe you went for a truck camper.....since you had the truck. Nice choice! Just to let you know, I'm so so happy your'e back. You have been such an inspiration for me to start my journey. I've gone through all the different types of rigs, checked and rechecked all the pros and cons of each and finally chose my bus. For me right now, what i want to do with this whole journey, it was the best choice. I'm still converting and when its just about finished the house will go up for sale and I'll be living in it full time. Being a solo female and doing 99.9 percent of the build myself is even impressing ME! lol So thank you for the new videos! Can't wait for more. Hope to meet you one day so I can personally thank you.
Glad to see you back! Although we only P/T RV, we have learned a lot from your videos! Great tips and things we would have never thought of! Good luck with the new rig, and looking forward to future videos!!
Your energy and happiness is contagious. My husband and I have a 5th wheel as well and now that we’re older, we are thinking of downsizing. I’ve been looking at vans and yes, they are crazy expensive. The camper is a great solution.
I purchased a thick felt purse liner from Amazon. Its rectangular and it use it for toiletries in my rig verses putting inside a handbag. Lots of pockets for organizing, has worked fabulous. I also modified a cutting board to cover the bathroom sink, much the same way a kitchen sink would be. The added counter space is great when needed. Wood Insert tucks away or hangs up easily.
It's great to see you are doing well, Robin! Kermit already looks comfy and I'm sure you will make adjustments as you go along so the partnership gets even better. I love how you name all your "helpers"...Igor is perfect, btw. I can't wait to see your new adventures and new helpful videos! I put the same foam tiles (larger size) in my 35 ft trailer with a layer of thin tri-fold siding insulation under it, and no more cold feet! My cats and dog love it too, and it's so much easier than carpet to keep clean.
Welcome back and congratulations on your new Lance. My all-time favorite rig was a Lance camper on my old Dodge 2500 4x4. I am a displaced Alaskan and bought my truck from a former colleague and the Lance from the local dealer, who installed all the 'stuff' you will describe later. But that Lance was with me for years in all kinds of weather and topography, on- and off-road. I wish I still had it and will live vicariously through your journeys!
I love how your videos show the downside as well as the upside of RV living. Sugarcoating it helps no one. Even though you love your new rig, you acknowledge there are problems with it that you would like to see different. Real life, right?
Welcome to the truck camper life! We have a 2014 Northstar Arrow U on a 2012 F350 shortbed SW 4WD truck. My husband and I live in it now full time since selling our house last summer. Your camper is much larger than ours, so we have to be very selective about what stuff we carry. One essential for us is a Clam screen tent which we set up when we stay at a campsite for awhile. It serves as our dining room/living room. Enjoy going to those off grid remote places you can get to now!
Robin, I love your rig, and love your hair! Would love to know a bit about the gas consumption with/without the truck camper on board. Happy travels. Thanks for the video.
I cannot express how happy I am that you're back, and happy! I love Kermit, he fits you perfectly.. Well kinda lol Being 5ft even, I understand! & Glad to see The Boy is loving the new digs as well
Good to see you back on RU-vid. I know you like the new arrangement, but there are some things you aren't thrilled about. All they need to be is switched around (well "most" things can be) to your liking. God bless. Yeah, I thought that last RV you had was huge and not a lot of fun to move around...this is definitely better, and you are camping with friends...good! God bless, and I look forward to your next video. I'm glad I stayed subscribed!
Lance campers are the absolute highlight quantity and 4 season! You got a fantastic deal! I actually have considered buying one but my husband is disabled and couldn’t get up the height. Personally I’ve never seen one that didn’t have a wet bath, that is awesome! I have seen a few propane businesses that will open the door and just fill tanks but most businesses don’t. Hoping you continue to enjoy this set up and am looking forward to watching your future adventures! Just still happy to see you’re back! Toodles!
Hey Rockin Robin (that just popped in my head😀) I love it!! Can’t wait to see all your adventures & the modifications you’ve made with solar, etc. I know nothing about camping (yet) is it possible to install lighter propane tanks? Looks like you have enough space to get rid of propane & just run everything off electric? I’ll check the comments for other suggestions 😊
hiya, yes, i could get a couple of baby tanks. my fridge and generator run off of propane so I need to have some, BUT that's exactly why I bit the bullet and had solar installed. Now I can use more electric power.
Just a note on the propane. Same beef 4 me. BUT! I have had them filled while in the camper. Trying to find the adapter to do so. I'm sure that motor home tanks are filled in place too?
We owned a truck camper for years and towed a bass boat most of the time. Had so much fun in it. Now they come with bathrooms. Wow. So glad you are back on the road.
Awwwww love this I want to hit the road looks like many of us do if we all bought a camper & lived our dream the highway would be cra cra !! Thx for sharing safe travels ❤️
Hi Robin. I am SO glad you are okay. Thank you for your new videos. Retired early last January due to COVID risks and am finally hitting the road in July with my Armadillo fiberglass travel trailer. Really look forward to checking out your old and new videos for pointers. Take care, Kate
Robyn, it’s wonderful to see your old spark back. I hope Kermit is everything you hope he is. Maybe he needs you to paint a little green frog somewhere when you have a creative moment to spare? Love from South Australia. 🌈 🦘 🐨
I have a Lance 2018, and love it. We went from Texas to Alaska. Truck campers are perfect for Alaska. Ours came with a solar panel mounted on the roof and it works very well. When you fill with propane drive the truck there and have them load and unload for you. FYI, we bought a new mattress. Hubby told the salesman if he wanted to make the sale, they had to take out the old mattress and put in the new one. YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO THIS WITHOUT HELP! So I got an amazing pillow top mattress. You can also pull a small trailer for your bike and tubs and other misc stuff.

Wow what a terrible purchase! You must of been drunk when you decided to get a truck camper! Now the real bet is how long you keep it before trading it in. I give it 6 months!
I love your new rig! I met a lady a few years ago while we were traveling and she has been traveling solo for 12 years. She had a really nice truck camper like yours and then she towed a small flat trailer behind her with one of those 3 wheel motorcycle things that she used to run to the store or run errands so that she didn't have to unhook her truck every time she needed to go somewhere. You definitely have some fun times ahead of you traveling with your new rig!! :-)
Love the new rig ~ so happy for you Robin! And pleased to know you are back out on the road. I’ve been a full-time working nomad for a year and a half and I wish I could adequately express how much your videos, books, and overall outlook have inspired & helped me on this journey. See you down the road 🚐💨
Getting my 2003 Honda Odyssey ready to live in, camp in and my cat - dog Lily is my biggest challenge! 🤣 Love your videos sweetie! So happy you did not get worse than a concussion! 💜
Man before I even watch this, it is sooo good to see you! I have really missed everything about you - your bubbly spirit, your smile, your wonderful information, everything! Welcome back!! 🤗
Good evaluation of the camper, agree with a lot of your assements. mine is a 2015 and some of the issues still haven't been modified. The propane storage is tough, I'm 6' and strong and I still use a step stool to swap them out and the tie down bracket takes some practice and I've probably done it 50 times. Mattress swap out can make be a major improvement, mine was. I'd like to know more about your solar and lithium conversion, thinking about that change for mine. I switched to an F450 from a 350 OMG it's so much easier to turn. Thanks for the video, enjoyed you assement.
I love to see more people in truck campers, they have their problems like being very tall, having a high center of gravity, but you can fit so much in such a small space and go place no other campers can get to! Also, please give your cat a little smooch on his tiny forehead for me!
Great to see you back Robin. I knew from your teaser last week you got a truck camper. I actually like them. Many happy, safe new travels & adventures! Glad you’re well & reinvigorated! All the best!
