As always, enjoyed the video. I ordered this saw last fall and unfortunately had issues with consistent tensioning when raising the arm to locked position and then lowering and continuing with next cut. Had to fiddle with the rear tensioning knob each time. Rikon graciously took the saw back and said they were working to resolve the issue. Other than that, the saw seemed well made and has many 'high-end' features. Price point is good for the features included. I hope they got the issue resolved. Rikon makes top notch gear!
So sorry you had a bad experience with the Rikon Scroll Saw, I have already done a few modifications to my saw and have at this time already filmed 3 videos on it and for me, It is a quality machine
@@ArtisanPirate Good to hear that tensioning is not an issue anymore; it's a beauty of a machine. Rikon folks are super friendly and pay attention to their customers.
Have seen other Rikon brand woodwork tools here in Australia, will be interested to see if they bring this scroll saw here too. Not sure if I'd be a fan of having to release that pin each time to lower the arm, but you'd probably get used to it
I'll be the first to say that this is a quality machine and I have already moved it onto the workbench as the primary scroll saw and I've came up with a simple solution for the pin
Thanks for the information. That looks like a great saw! It will probably be my next purchase when I see you at the Klingspor show in Hickory this October.
Congrats on the new Ricon . I’ve seen that saw before and thought at the time that the tilting head would be so nice when cutting angles instead of working off a tilted bed. I have a Dewalt and like it, am told your old saw is either made by Dewalt or will use the same repair parts if ever needed.. like anything new I’m sure will be a few things you’ll change to make it your own as we say. It’s always exciting to get a new tool. Mike
Good video. Personally, I like to make several mistakes while assembling so I actually put it together a few times. Nice saw but I think will stick with a Dewalt for now;
That's a great looking saw! Your shop has a little echo on the video so the saw sounds a little noisy. How is the noise level compared to your Delta saw? Also, what are the white covers on the sides with the black center piece? A place to lay blades in? Thanks for your review! 😎✌️
