You can see a touch of BMW here with the split headlights and the size of the grille increasing, but that's it. RR was more conservative about it, thank god
Man what a amazing looking car. It has to be the ultimate in luxury. Plush interior, smooth ride, and no engine noise. I bet who ever is lucky enough to get one won't be disappointed.
Before anybody compares the headlight design to the new 7-series BMW. This may share internals with the electric i7 however I would like to remind you all that Rolls Royce has had split headlights with the real headlight under the running light since 2003. That is way before BMW ever had it.
U cant change them in any car ‘as you please’. In all those cars it changes depending on drive modes. RR does not come with drive modes so you have to stick with one color.
@@shogunero3.6 alright "as you please" wasn't the right thing to say, but my point is they're still capable of changing colour. A 300k Rolls Royce not being able to is pathetic. And of course Rolls Royce have driving modes.
Interior is garish. Back seats have no headroom. When you own a Rolls and invite your guests to sit in the back you don't want to remind them to scoot forward so their heads don't hit the ceiling.
The actual Rolls Royce build jet engines, marine engines and nuclear reactors. Economical is very much part of their ethos. It very much makes sense RR Motors should follow their biological parent
Jay Leno did a video on RU-vid on early cars where he stated that in cars earlier days there was no set motive power for cars. There were gasoline, oil, electric and steam with no one car showing the future way, all had their merits. It is my belief the Rockefellers had a hand in forcing Gasoline as the prime choice. A sort of situation like VHS or Betamax of the 1990s.
Makes sense for Roll Royce to go electric, you don’t drive a roll Royce because of the noise it’s engine makes, electrification may actually take Roll Royce to a new level of refinement, love it.
So, basically, this is the new ev replacement for the Wraith, IMHO. If you didn't tell me it was an ev, I would not have known. Very well executed, Rolls!
It's an absolute beauty. The intricate detailing and craftsmanship is second to none. This car animates and projects it's superiority in the most serene graceful elegant way, with the presence assured to deliver on all counts, in firm keeping with the Rolls Royce tradition.
About bloody time. I would've thought all the high end Luxury cars would be BEV by now or at least further down the development road. Makes perfect sense. Serene quietness is a pre requisite of a luxury car..
Lights remind me of the new 7 series. Probs not a surprise considering BMW own Rolls but would've thought they should have gone in a different direction...
Years ago LA was full of all sorts of supercars, but Rolls seems to dominate now, esp. the Wraith and the new SUV. I thought those cars were nice, but OMG, this car is stunning.
Electric Rolls Royce's are far more understandable than even petrol powered ones. They're not supercars, the engine and sound isn't part of the car. This will be an astonishing car.
That's exactly what I thought! But also for the front (1:20), that silver grill with a black camera notch at the top makes it look like an added afterthought...
I saw that too 😅 looks like it was slapped on there from the BMW parts bin. Assume it was pre-production, so they'll integrate it into the bumper or something for production.
Why in the ever-loving HECK would they not let you change the dial colours from within the car?!?! The ENTIRE POINT of a digital driver’s display is that you’re not locked into a fixed set of dials!
The grill needs to travel to the bottom like the Phantom. To draw your eyes from top to bottom and give it a flow. It's just missing that aggressive look.
The back tail is just right. I think the infotainment screen should be 30% bigger. It's a nicely designed car except the infotainment screen which should be bigger.
Oh wow - that is frigging gorgeous! Electric power for a Roller makes perfect sense, but hope they have got the max charge rate to match that battery size…
I still don’t get why it makes sense to people. If you can afford one, you can afford the fuel. If you can afford one and the fuel, you can afford to put in zero emission fuel. If you can afford one and afford the zero emission fuel, you can probably afford to buy a couple of hundred acres to offset Co2 emissions it took to build the car. For all the superficial people it will go like this; ‘I’ll just hop out of my private jet I just took to holiday in Monaco, and I’ll just jump in my electric Rolls to make me feel better about the emissions I just made.’
@@reubs91 - you assumption here seems to be that the motivation to drive an electric car is purely some sort of environmental statement - having both an EV and Petrol car, the EV gets driven more just because it is generally more convenient and certainly far more relaxing to drive.
Looks awesome except these two cameras - front and rear. They are pretty the same as on cheapest models. I think they should have some special design for such kind of cars.
I can't seem to shrug off that RR picked the new BMW 7 Series and did a nip and tuck job to make it have a RR face. I'm talking only about the front of the car. Somehow, it doesn't wow me enough like Wraith or Ghost did, Phantom was in a different league altogether!
I really think rolls Royce has out done them self by makin an electric car ,,never thought rolls Royce could hav any better designs but they also seem to amaze me!
