Our First President, George Washington, once wrote a book called "Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior." I doubt any politician or candidate has read that book, which is surprising given it's at every gift shop in D.C.

No offense here Bill, but did you actually LISTEN to yourself? You are calling for civility from the conservative side, yet your entire career is built on insulting and denigrating the other side, and it's exemplified in this video.

Bill is not a hypocrite. He's someone with comedic license doing what he is qualified to do. People in government positions do not possess the same qualifications as entertainers (or do they?😅). Government workers are engineers of civilization so it's not without reason that they should demonstrate civility.

I still remember what happened in Taiwan parliament back in the mid to late 1980s, and the last few footage reminds me exactly that ... constant in-parliament fist fighting that last for hours.

Respecting political etiquette is surely a good thing, but real civility comes from a convergence in political ideas. Countries have parliamentary brawls because they have intractable political divisions, not because they fail to respect protocol and etiquette.

and so can Canadians.

I can't believe I just liked a Bill Maher video, normally I find him annoyingly arogant, but he's just right in this video.

All I can say, is that: If you think you are winning by making your opponent and/or a CO-WORKER, "look bad", because you had a hand in it to make them look bad when they really weren't???? Then you are the bad guy AND NOT him or her. I say this from personal experience and I stand by it too. Unfortunately, I can't name names, and it is definitely not Hilary.

Not that I disagree with the sentiment, but it's a bit disingenuous to call for the end to the demonization of those who oppose your political views while you're busy demonizing those who disagree with your political views.

But the corporations want us to stay polarized so we're distracted from the fact they control both sides and win either way.

Sometimes I watch this show and think about how much better it would be with a musician on the sidelines laughing obnoxiously.

The guy in 4:58 should have been a judoka, not a member of parliament. I mean, that's a fantastic ippon he's carrying out there!
