Hi friends. We completely agree with the advice to rent before purchasing. We rented twice, and then had a much better idea what we needed/wanted. Having an idea of your "must-have" and "wish list" items helps narrow things down. It also helps to know floor plans that are appealing as you start to shop. Great video, and wonderful guidance!

I realize this is 3 years old and you may not monitor messages but I just found your channel by accident while looking for fiberglass repairs to rv. I’ve watched 4 of you videos and enjoy them. We’ve been RVing about 16 years now. I’ve always said, sometimes you don’t know what you want until you know what you don’t want. Hope you were not too hard on yourself. It’s all a learning experience and just be thankful you could float the cost and get what you wanted. This first video was really good! Enjoyed your fiberglass repair and painting too. It’s giving me confidence for my repair.

@@RVFieldTrip I call us “Part Time, Full Timers”. We RV about 5 months out of the year. We have a small sticks and bricks home base in north central Kansas. We host Boondockers and are Boondockers also.
@@mikeweis5925 we don't do much boondocking but we are definitely not glampers, mostly city and state parks, as of right now we are weekend warriors but we do try to go out almost every week, I wish we could go out five months out of the year but we'll get there someday
Thanks for sharing your story, Allen. Good advice about renting first. We had a Roadtrek and loved it, except for the crosswise bed in the back. I can help you, there is only one way to choose which RV to keep, it is an incredibly old but well documented way to decide, use the “eny miny miney mo” method LOL, selling our last boat was hard to do, but in the end Rving is so much fun, and the RV community are a great bunch of people so much fun, We are glad you liked the video; we try to put something funny at end of all of them. When I was in RV sales and got a first time shopper I would tell them to rent first to get a feel for what you like and if you even like RV camping. I had a lot of used rvs on the lot with little to no use do to people not liking the unit or camping and losing a ton of money. We all learn as we go!
First time shoppers are exactly what we were, and we did learn our lessens, but you as a salesperson are a rear breed my friend telling first time shoppers to rent first before buying, you do not find many salespeople with that kind of integrity, my hats off to you. Thank you very much for watching
@@RVFieldTrip I could sell more rvs then others with honesty. If you came to me looking at a used unit I would show you any problems with it for if there was better coach even if the other one would coast less. I think it helps that I am a RVer where most salespeople don't have a clue what its like outside the dealer. I was even know to send them to other dealers I trust to make sure they got what they want. I could sell 3X more then my coworkers and make friends with my customers. It truly frustrates me how the RV and Automotive dealerships treat people.
That was a wonderful story. We got our RV like exactly 4 years ago last Dec of 2020. But before we bought it, we already made some research and even watch a bunch of videos on RU-vid just to get some ideas and opinions. We want a new one because first timers we don’t want to deal with any issues right away..So, we went to the local dealership and what a perfect timing that they had an RV show in Daytona so in short we went there and found the RV that we were looking for. It was a perfect RV for us, nothing fancy but we liked it right away..look better in person than we’ve thought:-)
Yes, our mistake was buying with knowing nothing about RVs not even watching a RU-vid video at that time, our second RV like yours was new, and we love it its perfick for us, sound like you bought the right one for you guys as well, thank you very much for watching

I hear stories like this all the time. It's hard to know what you want until you actually spend some time in it. We started 10 years ago and upgraded every 2 years until we got into our Class A. I wonder why your wife was creeped out by you standing over her bed😂 Congrats on the new rig!!
