Are you familiar with Hyoyeon (Blond rapper here)? She was the main dancer in SNSD and has great solo music. I'd recommend Dessert and Sober.

Yep, that was BoA! It's about time to check her hahahah My suggestions are 'BoA - Only One', 'BoA - Better', and if you're curious about first gen k-pop (she be rockin since 2000, literally), 'BoA - No. 1' and 'BoA - Atlantis Princess' are timeless classics.

WABS ARE IN THE ROOM! Seulgi wavy hair. Deadly. Also the ALBUM! PLEASE! please album reaction - the bsides for this project are incredible. Karina really got my attention for the range of skills she demonstrated I was so impressed at her in particular holding her own in the GOT the Beat rap line and also vocals. So great! I have a couple favorite b-sides but I'll save my commentary until you get to check out the album.

Yay! I was so looking forward to watching you react to this. This time with GOT the Beat you will be able to recognise them much better. I love how they all bring different things to this group and they bring all four generations of kpop together as well (there isn't really another company that could bring idols together from all four generations like this and really just.... legends) Yes, you were correct, that was Boa (debuted in 2000). Talk about being over-powered as a group!

Thanks for this reaction! I love GOT THE BEAT, as well as SuperM. It’s such a good idea to collab your talents under your label, just like the SMCU PALACE winter album.

GOT (which stands for Girls On Top) the Beat is a special collaboration group, sort of like the female version of SuperM, which includes the top boys from all of SM's groups. GOT the Beat was formed at the beginning of 2022 and the group includes some of the top females from SM's groups -- legendary solo artist BoA, Taeyeon and Hyoyeon from Girls' Generation, Wendy and Seulgi from Red Velvet, and Karina and Winter from aespa. "Stamp on It" is the second song released by GOT the beat. By now, I'm sure you realize that switching up the beat and style of a song in the middle of a song is signature SM. SM does this in the majority of its songs. Over time you probably will find it's no longer that shocking because SM does it so often it just becomes an expected part of their music. BoA debuted in 2000 -- end of 1st generation, Girls Generation debuted in 2007 -- second generation, Red Velvet debuted in 2014 -- third generation and aespa debuted in 2020 -- SM's first 4th generation group. Fun fact: One of BoA's iconic classic songs also is called "Girls On Top." So this group's name and their debut song "Step Back" is based around BoA's iconic song and legacy. For fun you should check out BoA's "Girls on Top" MV. To get to know this GOT group better, check out all their behind the scenes and dance practice videos. It is no surprise that you are impressed by everyone's vocals and dancing because as you know, that is just something the company is known for. BoA's amazing vocals are one of the reasons why SM is now known as the vocal powerhouse of the industry, and everyone else follows after her. You literally can't be an SM artist without having amazing vocals and dance skills, even SM's rappers get intense vocal training, so all of SM's artists are some of the best singers in the industry. BoA is the ultimate Idol of Idols. Her talents are unmatched. This is why SM selected her to become a trainee when she was 11 or 12 and why she debuted when she was only 13 years old, because she is so amazing. BoA is one of the originals in the Kpop industry. she has been in the industry for more than 23 years now and she is only 36 years old. :D She was one of the youngest artists in the industry when she debuted and she is now one of SM's longest held artists. She started under SM and is still represented by SM. So she has been in the industry for more than two decades, and, yet, she is still younger than a lot of artists who have come after her. That's how much of a legend she is. :D BoA is an OG of OGs. There is almost nothing she can't do. Everyone regards her as more than just an Idol, she is so well respected that she is a mentor to most Idols in the industry. And she is even a member of SM's board of directors and she is now in charge of the health and mental well-being of SM's artists. She was the one who paved the way for Kpop artist in the Japanese market and she is the reason why Kpop groups and artists now produce songs in Japanese. She was one of the very first Korean Idols to focus on learning Japanese with the goal of bringing the Kpop industry to Japan. She is now one of the top selling artist in Japan. BoA was even one of the first Kpop stars to release an English album in America. Her English song "Eat You Up" was pretty popular and even made it on the American music charts. She was one of the first Kpop artists to chart in the U.S. -- the song actually was played on some mainstream U.S. radio stations. I recommend checking out her MV for "Eat You Up," it's pretty epic and her dancing is on another level. She even starred in the Hollywood dance movie "Make Your Move" in 2014 and it was all in English. Over the years she has become pretty good at English and she is mostly fluent now. Fun fact No. 2: In Taemin's song "Idea" the female voice you hear saying, "Killing me softly" is BoA. And she was the one that produced aespa's "Dreams Come True" project in 2021. To see what kind of influence BoA has had on the industry, check out her "202020" documentary, which is part of her 20th anniversary celebrations. You will get a chance to see BoA go from a cute 13 year old Idol to the corporate powerhouse CEO that she is now. She is actually looked at as a sort of mama bear to the younger idols and trainees -- such as NCT -- when she speaks, everyone pays attention. She has a very commanding presence, but is also very sweet and kind. She is everyone's surrogate mom and respected older sister -- even if they are older than her. :D

Unfortunately I don't think we will be seeing any more SUPER M or GOT THE BEAT comebacks. That was Lee Soo Man's brainchild and he's no longer with the company. A lot of Koreans boycotted this comeback, which explains why it's sales were so low and it ot didn't chart, as opposed to "Step Back" which did really well. Taeyeon's fans weren't happy because it had been a full year since she'd had a comeback. Red Velvet's fans weren't happy because SM had still not rescheduled their concert that got cancelled because of the pandemic. And Aespa's fans weren't happy because Aespa was doing collabs with literally everyone but still hadn't put out a full album yet. The prevailing mindset among Koreans very much seemed to be "Don' try to buy us off with another collab that nobody asked for. It worked once, it won't work again. Take care of the individual artists first."
