I could've sworn that Klei mentioned Rock Lobsters being impacted by Acid Rain as well but I noticed zero changes. Still, if something snuck by me please let us all know in the comments! @@Cheer_maton Klei recently released a short animation (just on 14 February) called Tales from the Constant: Falling. It tells the story of how this setpiece came to be. It is on their RU-vid channel!
The last one about containers fills me with joy. I play public servers quite often and I don’t like dropping my items on the ground for even a second if there are people around
It cracks me up they can not stop buffing wormwood. Doesn’t bother me one bit, I’ve been maining him as a combat character for as long as he’s been in DST!
It’s very strange to me that early itself barely gets any attention 😅 sure his dishes are what people like but idk I feel like he is not interesting enough to keep playing with
I really like that rot washes away in the rain. I was always going around picking up all the seeds in my world so that they wouldn't turn into rot and sit there forever, now they will eventually decay by themselves
It's fine for what it is for sure! Again, my concern before it was out was how much of it was going to be late-game stuff and that's still my gripe now. Doesn't mean the content is bad but there is a lot that many won't even encounter still.
@@TheBeard777I think that early game shouldn't be changed too much. If there are people still not getting past 1st winter, adding a bunch of new things that they have to learn on top of the already massive learning curve will drive new players away. On the other hand, people who have played for a while and are now making mega bases are the people who have the time and knowledge to explore all the new content without it hindering their progression
Personally for me the best thing for this update (as an amateur player) is the fire staff change so no one can accidentally set my base on fire again. I didn't even know about anything that 90% of this update did or worked on. The only three things that were significant to me were rot washing away, a fire staff change, and a new set piece I might not even find for a while, with a boss I'll rarely fight. The rest went over my head. :l
I honestly think this update is really, really cool. I love the infinite chest thing and opening containers from you inventory especially. However the only other thing I could want is craftable wormholes and geometric placement built in for consoles.
hey, do you know if those new chests (the expanded ones) help to reduce lag? i have a world with almost three thousand days and someting i noticed is that at some point when you place chests and store stacks of items in there they start to lag that specific part of the world when you are in the area, i had to delete stacks of resources and other items because it was turning almost imposible to do anything in the place (my base).
@@sumanthapa3119 there are many workarounds. For example, you don't necessarily need a very powerfull computer, if all you're playing is 2d survival games like DST, which sometimes are even more fun than modern AAA games with cool graphics (and in most cases are much cheaper). If you want your PC even cheaper, you can assemble one yourself instead of buying a prebuilt one. It's not *extremely* hard to do, but i'd recommend getting involved someone who knows how to do it. Want to spend even less money? Buy used parts instead of new ones, but that's kinda risky because they can be almost broken. Yea, it's time consuming, but definitely worth it.
The werepig wasn't even working for me on the switch, no matter how fast I hit the pillars the first would always stop vibrating before I got to the last. I eventually just gave up, also I think the infinite storage is kind of dumb. It would have been cool to just bubble it instead of making it infinite. It looks like this is a base building update, which if that's the case they should just give us geometric placements. It is one of the mods everyone has been asking for.
I'll admit that a lot of this is more involved in the late-game than I anticipated however the ocean tweaks are a good sign in my opinion. More of that and continued touch ups to earlier-mid game stuff and things will look prettier come the end of the year.
hey beard! when telling us about new additions could you mention what it was before the update? e.g. “Pearl’s bundle of shells drop 8 now instead of _____” you did it for some but i’m just curious to see the comparisons :)
So is like a different werepig or is it the same one as in the ruins? If we got nightmare and scrappy, maybe a lunar one may come? (Three little piggies?)
Same guy, just isn't complete yet so the Story Arc progression with him is a bit out of whack currently. On the Stream they said we'd have to beat him in the Caves first but... that might change.
@@TheBeard777 i wouldnt mind them dragging out the end game if they actually expanded the world and the story. like, i never saw the fuelweaver fight as them dragging it out, because it was good on its own, and because it felt important to the story at the time. from togethers perspective, even unlocking maxwell is dragging it out, but its good and enjoyable on its own, so its just another plot point. they can drag it out forever as far as i care, as long as interesting things are happening to the plot, and more quests are added to the game that FEEL enjoyable and meaningful.
I bet the workbot would be great in combination with a field of twiggy trees and combined with an unlimited chest so that one doesn't have to worry about the chest getting full.
I sure Hope automatochanic picks up stuff and Puts it into fridges too, all these Auto farms like spider/bunnymen/bat/tallbird farms would be crazy! (in a Good way) imagine the bot refreshIng the spoiling food on its own until its a full Stack, and im not even sure i should bring Attentation to this... since lately everything thats cool instantly gets called op and klei "Balances" it (like woodie hp regen, yes im still mad they felt the need to Nerf that...) im in love with the little bot, a woodie woodfarm will get crazy now with someone picking up the wood for him (maybe even faster than Maxwell If the bot gets enough range)
well since the beta for this update is at its early stages it would be cool to get the Scrap werepigs handcannon as potential loot drop (when it can use the cannon) if klei decides to add like a mini version of it in the future
Is it me or are we getting a lot of focus on pigs in unique ways, like we got 2 bosses with different themes, a new short that has a set piece tied to it, and the fact we only recently saw inside their houses, make me wonder if this is foreshadowing something, or Klei wanted to give more depth to such a simple species?
It's 100% just a Console Players item right now, yeah. All of our Mods can do this and way, way better so I imagine Klei might give it one more thing to appease the masses.
This robot might bring poop farming to a real deal now just leave beefalos and tell it to stack poop as much for infinite poop Not sure of the practicality but I definitely would use it for that lol
I guess that means they updated every chest design to include an expanded version, I bet that took a lot of work. I wonder if they made any silly variations.
I don't think it was very hard. It's basically the same sprite, just taller. Also they are always making new sprites, so comparing one to another doesn't make very much sense.
aww the big chests really are an endgame thing. at least the werepig looks like an easy early-game fight. i hope klei adds more early game stuff for ppl like me who suck and will never beat CC
I found a new trick to storage and its movable, Backpacks! Does the same thing but can be moved. Please tell me if im wrong and there is something kind of down side i was not thinking of? I learned this trick because of shipwrecked.
I hope they give the new pig boss better loot. An helmet that does what I've been using a mod to do for years is kind of meh, tho the fight itself seems fine
That's an odd one the more I think about it, yeah. On paper it sounded kind of interesting but in practice I don't believe it was the best idea as it not only trivializes Moonstorms but makes them more boring somehow...
I want Terraria, Don't Starve Together, and Monster Hunter to all make a game together. These are some of my favorite games and they all have things i wish they all had. I want the same Boss battles from Monster Hunter Rise. I want the digging exploring and lot hunting like terraria and the day n night cycle and mob functions like DST.
Please suggest keli to make deadly brightshade become craftable, to plant at any place we want. They can add some downside for craftable deadly brightshade like adding more hp&damage but less attack range. It will be super practical for base design.
i swear if they update the loot on werepig but only when its after you defeat celestial im gonna be so mad. I don’t wanna fight the endgame bosses most the time, they’re a drag to do. Why do they keep making endgame content???
It's a good question, and one I've been asking for a year now. I was all for them "finishing" their endgame in 2023 after "setting the stage" in 2022 but then they went and introduced Skill Trees, branching story paths that have forgotten their setups, additional post-endgame stuff, and more.
That chest expander is stupidly expensive. Being able to craft only six per Celestial Champion kill is ridiculous. I really hope Klei changes the recipe :/
While true to an extent you also have to factor in your own experience and knowledge. Yes, challenge is not the name of the game anymore but many new players still struggle because they think the challenges they face are difficult when in reality it's an information game. It's the good and bad of Don't Starve as a whole because knowledge gatekeeps while also opening the floodgates.
Some of this is a good sign with a lot of it giving me the same worry I had all throughout last year. I get it, I don't have to care about late-game megabasing nonsense when I don't do huge bases late into the game anymore. That said, it's all just stuff still - bloat, if you know what I mean. Especially those moon shroom crafts, like, what?!?!
@TheBeard777 I think it's similar to minecraft where you don't *have* to do all these extra things, you don't *have* to fish or scavenge junk to beat AF/CC, but the extra content is still nice as a way to keep the game from getting stale, and I think the update succeeds in that department
@@launisch_ that is good thing if you can learn most of game lioe 9p pertence by exploring or in game hint guides ruins vibe of game early on later its requierment (seroisly how someone supposte to find celestial chanpion)
