Rebuild both motors twice the price but remember you'll have a sweet boat knowing that engines are running good as new and reliable so more time on the water less time in the garage= happy times
If you like to run it without rebuilding it on oil issue you can put a shut off valve on your oil line feed just dont forget to turn it on when running or delete oil injection but do not remove the oil line that lubricate your crankshaft just buy mine a week ago its a 98 i will be pulling my engines and replace it with my jetski engine good luck on your build nice boat
That is what I did on the latest video, I installed a shutoff and took it out on the water. It ran great, but I'm still going to replace the crankshaft.
Yes I had a Tigershark that the entire engine filled with oil. It was a failure of the oil pump diaphragm and the oil would gravity feed into the engine, fill the block and the engine wouldn't turn over. You may find a similar issue. That compression guage should still work.
@@papadonjetski9535 Tigersharks are known for having terrible oil delivery systems. Best to run premix on them. The thing ran great once I got that oil out and rebuilt the carb. Plus all that oil kept the engine nicely lubed. It took a LOT of cranking to clear the oil. You may find that you can run premix on that boat and delete the oil delivery system and it will run just fine.
look like it a common problem with this boat. my boat the exact same side engine not working. i pulled the dead engine out crank shaft is bad rotary shaft got chew off both engine carburetor completely rusted, I manage to get 1 engine running now just order complete engine rebuild kit for it
Same boat bought it used once and also having issues now a stripped thread where the carb bolts up ahh my head hurts but boat is also very clean one engine runs good the other well not so much I paid to much for mine tho
What a coincidence I’m seating on a ferry going to picking up an exact the same boat same Color and year. And it 3 hour trip for me too. Same story 1 engine not working and I have no knowledge about this type of engine I hope I can learn from you to fix it..
And maybe I can learn from you! I have 2 other jet skis to finish up with before I jump to the boat, so it will probably be next month. I know there will be differences compared with jet skis, but I hope there will be many more similarities. If so, I'm confident I can fix it.
@@papadonjetski9535 we finally got it home it definitely not looking as good as your we spent 3 hour power washing it. All the seat cover are gone 1 engine is good that what I been told but haven’t verify it. I’m looking for a service manual for this boat that the first things I do. And plan to pull both of the engine out for completely rebuilds.
There’s a Neutral switch that won’t allow it to rev in neutral put in drive and it will allow you to rev that’s how I tune out of water, I have 3 seadoo boats different models
Thank you for checking in on me, I appreciate it. I've been dealing with a pinched nerve in my neck since January and that has really slowed me down. I'm having a nerve block injection so I should be back to working on jet skis soon.
As a small engine mechanic of 35 years,I constantly have customers drop off machines not running and they state it probably only needs a spark plug. Guess what,it's rarely just a spark plug.I don't put much faith in any customers stories or diagnosis. I have to do my own "detective " work.If I don't do my inspection on a item I price it accordingly so I can make my money-back regardless. It's business. Great video and channel.

Well, let me answer you this way, I paid 5K less than the blue book average list price. I've been looking for this particular boat for almost a year and the ones I looked at were in terrible shape comparatively and they were asking more than what I paid for this boat. I got such a deal that even though I've spent most of the year looking for it, the is a temptation to seal it and pocket a good profit.
What I believe you are getting what they call hydrolock. It happens because the seals are bad in the oil tank. Replace those seals and that should at least solve that problem.
Someone ripped me off on a boat few years back, the engine took on water many of times he cleaned up the engine changed plugs wires and oil had no idea he disguised it so well went out took on water in less than 7 mins it flooded it was advertised as running did an engine swap runs once I get the impeller housing changed fast forward few years, the mechanic I pulled to the side that did my engine swap ends up ripping me off on a pair of jetskis lol fool me twice shame on me now I’m out on 1 Jetski n no mechanic 🤦🏻♂️
I hate to hear your story. I have to believe there are still good and honest people left that are not always looking to make a buck on people. Are you becoming a DIY guy?
@@papadonjetski9535 i guess i feel confident on a few things, but it certainly it’s a luxury to own watercrafts let’s be honest if you don’t do some work yourself or have a mechanic on the side shop prices are crazy
I have had nothing but bad luck with both boats and jet skis I have wasted so much money I can’t take it anymore I actually now have the same boat as this yeast as well and one engine is all messed up . I just love the water so much man I feel your pain .
It suxs the engines are blown. But the 787s are great engines. I sure no more than 500 in parts even if you go the complete strip and paint options. I sure after pulling and doing a rebuild. That boat will be lots of fun for your family.
