With a pocket. Best part of the vid the dog nose /co pilot. Had to carry into the vet my golden retriever they had him on and off for 3 weeks wanted to put him now the quality of life talk bla bla. Last time taking him to the vet he looks at me and i swear he said. You are kidding me right? So when is Andrew going to do a Fan Mail po box?
Me too man! I carry a vaccum in my truck because i can't stand dust. He's always looks so relaxed and care free, and, like he just managed to survive a mud slide! Lol
This man is my definition of living life comfortably: roof over his head, gas in the tank, clothes on his back and food on the table. Best way of life.
People may bust your balls about the condition of your equipment, but you know what, they all work, they are all paid for, No Payments. How many of them can say the same?
its people not understanding that line of business. that's a work truck plain and simple. I have never seen a work truck in that field of business be clean or dentless. As for tool if it works no need to replace them.
"Ok that looks good as new" laughed out loud at that. But hey it's a work truck it looks great. Alright let's go do something else. World needs more people with the drive to get things done like you
I dont understand how people are like oh its a work truck it looks good.... like no... just because its a work truck dosnt give the excuse of it being that big of a POS.... your first impression you make pulling up to a job says a lot... not saying he isnt a hard worker but kinda says how you do things...
@@lml6.653 - Wrong, I'm from the same area as Andrew and people don't want to pay for your new $60k truck. I show up with references of past work and a $2500 van. I always out bid the "big guys" with expensive trucks, because I don't have a payment and my customers know that. Your work speaks for itself, your ability to pay for a brand new truck, speaks to how much you charge. :)
I can't imagine Andrew being on a cruise for 5 days. Unless he was helping out on a crab boat in Alaska. Guy is so high energy I don't think he even sleeps. Love all your hard work putting out these videos Andrew. Thank You.
I've never posted a comment on RU-vid in my life, but when Andrew was talking about cornering in a "Bronco 2' I was hooked on his channel for life. LOVE MY BRONCO 2!!!
My yellow lab did the same thing when he got old. they do a stutter step until you help them. I really do think older dogs want it's humans help getting in, and they know they will get it if they stutter step.
Some people use a wide long board as a ramp to allow their family member dog to climb in under his/her own power - but it's really nice the way Andrew helps Levi into the truck. Something like the ones here: www.chewy.com/b/steps-ramps-449
Well, two things to say here - 1./ I think Andrew tossed a couple of Levi's emergency bones from out under the passenger seat before he discovered he didn't have to swap out the entire seat bench and Levi was confused and miffed for a bit; 2./ Andrew made an excuse for not lifting the back of the truck but I think he really didn't do it to be kind to Levi's legs but also Levi's feelings. @Sam Val, good idea that but I guess only useful at home and at the Andrew's Fortress of Solitude, you can't really toss it in the back to carry it around (and using it out in public would probably embarrass Levi - if some lady dog or punk puppy got to see).
I found your channel one day by accident .Thanks for inspiring me and sharing your knowledge with all of us .You have saved me $ 2500.00 since March 2019 Thanks
Yes, He can build a castle so he can make anything single handedly. I'm amazed by his acquisitions. Every next day he's something new and best thing is he don't let any of those go unused of rot.
From scratch, this young man has the karisma, why hes got a positive attitude, the strength, the power, the knowledge, of fixn vehicles one way or another, if theirs a will theirs a way, you my friend are on your way to success, why you've got the tools, not to mention you've also got a car lift hoist, you can replace fuelpumps, gastanks, mufflers, trannsmissions, rearends, replace brakes/shoes, rotors, drums, maybe replace engines, too, ect. Keep up the work, Thanks for sharing this with me 👌😊✌️😉👍
You are a BIG inspiration to all do-it-yourselfers out here in the world ..... almost a 'Get-R-Done' attitude that should be adapted by many Americans !!! Love watching hours and hours of your videos.... even out of order when I find them .... Thanks again !!!!
I really enjoy the get-to-it, fix-it and move on to the next thing attitude! Why waste a vehicle when you can get all it's life out of it. Great job Andrew.
I use chainsaw bar oil as underseal - creeps into crevices, stays nice and tacky, spray it on with an underseal airgun, cheap as chips, lasts at least a coupla years. You're always an inspiration man - big shout out from England!
Interestingly, South Main Auto posted a similar rear leaf spring repair yesterday, Eric O tackled it with a wealth of previous experience, but Andrew C arrives at the same pinch points and then solves them with intuition and good sense. Great to see Andrew's 'Make Do and Mend' philosophy in action, "...good as new...". Love the channel, best wishes from UK.
I added leaf springs to mine. Similar situation, just left the top leaf alone. Then the rear mounts went and i had to get new brackets and welded up new mounts out of old leaf springs.
Oh man, when my lab got around Levi's age I used to have to lift her up into the truck also. I could see she was kinda like, I want to go in there but I'm gonna need some help. Brings back memories.
Here in Western Australia I drive fertiliser spreading trucks which have a problem with lime, urea and superphosphate causing corrosion. We pull them to bits and liberally coat everything with Lanolin, which is natural sheepwool grease. It is excellent at entirely eliminating rust and is a lubricant as well - and for those that are concerned about the environment - is organic, natural and the sheep is not killed to shear the wool!
when you work in the business that Andrew does, you need things that will work, who the heck cares that are a bit beat up, they run, and he takes care of his stuff. Love it and admire Andrew for it and his work ethic..had to dig up a small dead tree here on our small little 3/4 acre, and my husband came up to me and said " Bet Andrew could of gotten that out in less than a minute... LOL Ok, Onto the Next Job...LOL
I have been in withdrawals for a "it is fixed video" as well. Andrew seems to have an exorbitant amount of common sense, and a can do attitude. Isn't it fun to watch him just go after the end goal? Anyways, God Bless from Phoenix.
I like the part, " you get on the gas and it goes one way, get on the brakes and it goes the other way, hey we've got 4 wheel steering! " . I laughed so hard on that one! Keep up the good work and positive attitude.
Nothing beats a hot cup of coffee and watching Andrew tell stories for a couple of hours. I could do that all day. In fact, I actually have. And I always learn something. Best channel on RU-vid.
When you get ready to replace the Dodge truck, come to north Texas. A third of the vehicles on the road here are pickups so a great selection. Also the best thing is you avoid the rust problem. I have an 2001 pickup and no rust at all. The underside still looks very good. Also you have restored my faith in young people, watching someone your age with so much knowledge is very refreshing.
The enemy of good is better. Andrew has the gift of knowing what a part or a tool is intended to do and improvising a strong safe fix. Really impressive.
You should get better mileage after cleaning all that crud off the pick up, it really looks good. That looked like a great job to extend the life of a good work truck. When will we get a new additions video, I look forward to hearing what you got the roller for. I love all your video’s your channel has been number one ever since I found you, stay safe and keep doing what you do ✌️Levi had that look of approval 🐕
I skipped around a lot but if I recall from watching at an earlier date that seat was giving you back pain that is no joke especially when you are older
Andrew, U'bolts are meant to be torqued and will stretch when installed. Once removed, you cannot safely re-torque them to achieve the correct clamping force. Just like those throw away head bolts. Re-use runs the risk of failure. That said, sure I've reused u-bolts.
I watched this to the end. I want to say thank you Andrew, Ive been one of your original 1000 subs. Glad to see the truck get some love, Watching the truck work over time has been one of my favorite parts of the channel. It embodies who you are as a person, hardworking and getting the job done, no glamor. Good for you man keep it up. To the people complaining about rust, I'm pretty sure there's a video with Andrew running a dozer and and excavator at the same time out there somewhere.... lol
Hey Andrew, When it's dry, coat the underside of the truck in bar and chain oil (you might need to thin it a drop first) and then go for a drive down a dusty road. It'll make a nice rust preventing coat on your truck and it's loads cheaper. You'll just have to redo it every now and again.
Mr. Camarata, you have superb skills, and a wonderful, relaxed attitude about the miracles you perform. Your work is typically very environmentally friendly as well. We should all aspire to be so capable and accomplished as you.
I swear Andrew is the most wholesome youtuber. you have gained a huge fan base because you make great content, have an amazing way at looking at problems, seem to have an unlimited amount of knowledge on pretty much everything, and have the best attitude for hard work. Love your videos Andrew never change. ps Im from lake placid.
After viewing about 80 video's, Andrew you still are entertaining and the knowledge you share is useful. Ignore the haters. Haters gonna hate, huggers gonna hug. Keep it up.
I hate it when other RU-vidrs will have a video showing you how to do something but will leave out how hard it actually is. Not gonna say I enjoyed watching you struggle but its nice to see it in there.
I remember when these trucks came out. I wasnt a big fan of the body style but they grew on me. Now i'd like to go back in time and get one. Before the time when guys started lifting them, folding out the "tow" aka grocery parking lot mirrors and putting big ass wheels with no sidewall mud tires that stick like 12 inches out past the fenders. They were good trucks and the right setup were real easy to work on. The 5.9 liter diesels were one of the best of the time and would be streetable and reliable with 1200 hp and 2800 ft/lbs of torque.
... love the story time at the end... I think I can honestly say... 'Andrew Camarata 348K subscribers' ... is my favorite YT channel of all time... don't change a thing
Once again, a rare find. An Andrew video that I had not yet seen. To me, it is just like he put out a new one. Love them. Love Levi. Love scenes of New York that are not all skyscrapers and concrete. Some of these roads he is on remind me of here in Texas. The farm to market roads.
Loved your story on steel brake lines...Ex father n law bought a 20' van body up north to use in our insulation business....Yup approaching an intersection to turn right, hit tha brakes...pedal to tha floor.... laid it on its side slid into parking lot of bldg supply in Coal Mountain, Ga....luckily no one was coming either way sure got a lot of strange looks from folks running out to see what happened....When po po showed up with wreckers...I explained situation and sure enough when I got back in and hit brakes fluid poured out of a pin hole from rusted out steel line....replaced line when we got back to shop and drove around with skid marks all down tha side till I sold it years later....Another life lesson.....
4:08 usually people: well, time to sell/scrap that thing Andrew: looks good as new! keep up the great work on anything you do, you actually inspired me to get an excavator license, wish me luck!
You are completely correct on your attitude toward fixing vs. buying New. I'd rather keep a vehicle going, rust and all rather pay for an overpriced vehicle. Your stories are hilarious!! Keep up the awesome videos Andrew
Buddy, you remind me of my dad! All his repairs were VERY functional but not so pretty! You always seem to find a solution to any problem, great content
I swear not even the federal government could stop this guy. Overtime's biggest nemesis; endless human machine. His work ethic is untouchable by anyone else I've ever seen, meet, or imagined.
Brings back memories. Busted springs on 3/4 Chevy hauling firewood. Took springs out of 1 ton and build our own 9 leaf spring pack. Rode awful unless you had 1000 pounds in the back but she could haul a cord of Green oak firewood.
Most people I know who own Dodge trucks always talk about how long they last, even though they break down. What they actually mean is the Cummins won't quit, and it doesn't. Then I see this truck. This truck single handedly shatters my view of Dodge trucks. It won't stop. Plus that tail gate gets me every time I see it...."just like new" he said once
