New Seiko Prospex Tuna - Ref. S23633J1 

Out of all the Tuna's this is by far my favorite. Really like the looks of it. I would love to see this in person. Enjoy it, you deserve it.

I'm a big Seiko fan. This is a lovely watch but it's just a design I never personally took to. I can completely understand the appeal though, and I really like that logo. It does look much smaller than the 47.5mm size, particularly with the short L2L. My Orient Mako XL at 44.5mm looks bigger than this. If you like, don't hesitate!! Go for it.

I have no problem with logo or the dial being totally painted. It is, after all, a tool watch. Oh yeah, I also love the handset.

That really does look like a keeper! The metal bezel insert adds a lot to the overall armored look of the watch and it sure is nice to see a watch with the seconds hand hitting the markers as it should. I don't think you can go wrong with that one, Bob!

Those Tunas are irresistible, aren't they? What I like about the new generation 300M Tunas: . Sapphire, wth AR coating! . Return to the gen 1 and 2 handset (mostly -- the minute hand is slightly thicker and less tapered towards the end than previous Tuna hands). . Nuclear lume. . Perfect snap of the second hand right on the index marks. What's a little disappointing: . No more domed crystal. . The price increase. . Same ol' Seiko bracelet. . What's up with the new catalog number? S23633? What happened to Seiko's familiar SBBN0xx nomenclature? (Yes, I know that the JDM version of this watch is properly named the SBBN045) Will Bob buy the Tuna? All signs point to "yes".

that’s really nice. I did not know about this version with the steel Bezel and bracelet. I like that hey went back to the older hand design. I have thought about getting a Tuna 300m. I was always worried there would be an issue with something. This is the nicest of the newer Tunas I have seen. The steel Bezel plus the bracelet really looks great.

It comes down to people appreciating build quality rather than than everything has to be automatic. Most brands in the 2000-3000$ price range still uses the inexpensive Sellita 200. And let's not forget the price of Heuer, Breiting, Grand Seiko's Quartz. Should this Tuna be 500$ less? Absolutely, but i see inexpensive brands getting expensive now and that's just something we have to accept.

The Tuna is a watch that has always intrigued me but like you I've never pulled the trigger on it. The shroud and the stainless steel bezel on this model is very cool. Nice piece, thanks for sharing as always!

You have excellent taste. They are superb. I moved my Tuna onto mesh and managed to transfer a branded Seiko clasp. It's never leaving.

Awesome watch. I have a feelings it would be a bit too big for me, but I'll have to try it im sometimes. 😄 Also, the fact that it is quartz and day/date is appealing suprisingly, cool watch!

Great video, Bob! I’m trying to decide between this one and the black bezel version. Once stores here in the UK reopen in a couple of weeks I’ll have to check them both out! Also, the music at the end beating in time with the seconds hand was a nice touch 😏

Ok, gotta ask. Did you keep it and if you did do you mind me asking how much you paid for it US? I love the Tuna's style but have a VERY hard time paying that kind of money for any quartz and especially a battery driven one where eventually I'll have to crack that case open and change the battery(just makes me nervous as hell...lol.). Great review as always!

I've been looking at the urban tunas. The street or the safarnie in green are definatly on my list this year. This would be on my list but its twice or three times the cost of this pice so thats just waay out of my range.

The black engraving on bezel is not as thick as the SBBN033 engraving.

That Tuna is fantastic! It suits you so well and when I saw your IG post I literally came here to tell you that this is the tuna you should get haha 😂

Bezel action is hideously bad! literally dangerous to dive with. What are they thinking at the factory???
