Not gonna lie I've been holding out on Session cause it just kinda looked janky with the physics but it's looking a lot better after this update, great step in the right direction. Might have to support the game especially because it's a skate game that's actually being updated with gameplay features.
My thoughts exactly. Hope they focus their efforts on improving gameplay/gamefeel, the game looks promising but the animations still feel a bit jank compared to SXL. Definitely a step in the right direction like you said.
@@WinterNix I hope Skater XL doesn't do anything so eventually people will stop playing it. It really doesn't deserve all the love it gets. The only people that deserve it are the modders and look how they are treated.
@@vebbquit5795 I'm not gonna stop playing the better game just because! I already paid it and with the mods is still far better. I just tried Session again and it still feels like a PS1/PS2 game, a bit better but long way to go.
Yes been waiting for that jankyness to be fixed and it’s so much smoother since last time I’m definitely buying. I’ve been putting up with skaterxl the past 2 years on console but I didn’t complain because let’s face it we hadn’t had any decent skate game for a decade now I’m looking forward to Session and EA SKATE 4!
What a solid update! Spinning has improved, grinds and slides for some reason look much better and the physics based animations are very promising, probably my favourite feature.
one thing i can say that session does alot better than XL is: how involved the devs are. They've added everything that players have asked for, taken player's feedback into consideration and just ultimately seem more interested and hungry for success. meanwhile for skater XL... its quite literally like talking to a child.
This game looks absolutely incredibly I love how the skaters body reacts to the big impact landings great looking physics as well im very excited for the game!!
I bought sessions when I got my pc in 2020. I've kept this game installed waiting for it too be updated to where it is now. This last update has grabbed me and I've dug it been just dumping time in to the point I like the controls. I kept trying too use legacy controls like how it was with skate but now since I've been able to understand I love it.
It looks and feels so much nicer now. Definitely a huge step in the right direction! Seems like most people finally see the potential of the game now. So stoked to see that the devs finally get the respect they always deserved. By far the best Skateboarding game I've ever played! Thank you, creature studios! ❤️
It's insane that this game have way more updates than skater xl and updates that actually add new things in the game, not things that should already be implemented in the game (hum hum easy day)
wow just checked my steam and it's been 2 years since I've played session. Now that I have a new pc, and this update release I think it's time to check it out again. Thx for the vid NS.
I think that something that would improve the atmosphere of future session would be better ppedestrian ai, like pedestrians have a point a to b system and can enter stores.
When the skate game renaissance was starting, I chose this game over Skater XL. Not 100% why but I just vibed with it and what the devs were doing. So stoked to watch how far its come and how well it's shaping up. Skate 4 has some serious competition if and when it comes out.
Should be out next year or late this year but I think skate 4 will blow them out the water because the amount of die hard skate 2 & 3 fans will stampede the purchase button
Woke up at 3 A.M. randomly, turned my Xbox on, n noticed Session had an 8 GB update. As I waited for it to install, I hopped on RU-vid n to my surprise, Nightspeeds already had a video up covering it. 🤣 Looks like some improvements were definitely made to the game, w/ more to come in the near future. Gonna check it out for myself in a bit. 💯
It looks like a skatespot level in Manhattan from Tony Hawk Underground and Pro Skater 2 might be dynamic than the other side to get a great fresh start when he is landing a rail close enough to next to the rail and jump to the landing of the whole landing line! He doesn't have any money to purchase a new board yet!
I'm so sick of not having much to do in skater xl on my PS4 and now seeing that PlayStation logo in that session photo at the beginning, has got me hyped. Ty for putting that in their, I can't wait
This is what I want from Skate 4. A grounded, realistic skate sim with apartments, local skate shops, and fun missions. No 4th wall breaking, no objects falling from the sky, or any more bullshit.
Very nice improvements to the game! One thing that still feels off is the impact (or the lack thereof). Landings feel kind of weak and you're not really stomping your tricks. There's a mod for skater xl that replaces the skate sounds, which helped a lot with the same issue. They should just replace the SFX with something punchier and landing tricks would feel much better...

Good lord ... FINALLY decided to move on from skate 3 and jump into one of these new games. Ended up trying skater xl first. Caught on pretty quick and fell in love. Feels great. Physics feel good. Board control feels awesome. Individual foot control feels good. Everything just feels SO much more smooth. Tried session and it's like.... It just feels so impossibly clunky in comparison. Obviously getting better with the controls does a lot to help cover up all that stuff. But it just absolutely doesn't feel as fluid or smooth as skater xl. Session feels so stiff and clunky, it feels like playing a tony hawk game. But without all the arcady fun. I will say, everything else about session I like more. The maps, the open world feel, getting off the board... If i could have everything that is session, but with the physics, controls, fluidity and overall feel of skater xl... Then that would be perfect.

Loving the look of this now! With the ridiculously slow/none existent updates for Skater XL I believe Session as actually taken over finally with this update! I think I'll be buying it very soon!
Session is feeling great again. I tried to play SXL 2 months ago but the lack of controls/options and the acrade-y feel was too off putting for me i had to refund it.

I genuinely cant wait until this comes out on PS4/PS5.I'll be getting it for PS5 but its a long ass wait until Fall.I love the Zero and Fallen merchandise.Always loved Zero because of Jamie Thomas and Chris Cole.I love that they added things like pedestrians,it actually feels like a living city.I've almost given up on Skater XL for console.Daewon is my favourite skater so thats a bonus.I'd love to see Jamie Foy added to Session.
Wow this game looks good now, the landing are much more natural than sxl and almost everything looks smoother than sxl now still looks a bit janky when switching animations like when you first land it feels like a cut but damn session is killing it
Hi, guys. I'm literally new to the skating world and with that comes the fact that i'm completely alien to the terminology. I was wondering: i noticed that Skater XL gives you the option to hold your skateboard during certain tricks, mostly when skating on ramps. Why didn't they add it yet in this game? Thanks in advance
Those tricks are called grab tricks and they're mostly used when skating vert (quarter pipes, half pipes, pools) but since street skating is way more popular, the focus isn't so much on grab tricks in this game. There are grab tricks in this game though I believe, we definitely used to be able to enable them under Experimental options, and then use the shoulder buttons to grab the board. Not sure if that option is still there, haven't looked in a while... but I wouldn't see the point in the devs removing it so surely it's still possible.
wow. you people sure do get high as the sun when updates come out huh? modded xl destroys any skating game you can find lol. and its not even close. best thing about session is that it has devs that are working on it. just wish they'd make the game actually fun if they aren't going to do proper physics for this "sim".

@@themadman6667 I fw XL too, but I mean the difference in how the devs are handling it should tell you a lot. XL will remain how it is, unless the modding community makes something new, while Session is getting mostly everything asked for added to the game. Calling this update basically the same as before shows me how close minded you are.
New update is looking really good. I played the demo thing on Xbox when it first came out but compared to this im thinking I’ll have to buy it when it’s full release happens. Love your vids nightspeeds
@@Sumunuhriginal no, what I meant is a pin dropper where you can spawn your skater where ever you want in the map, not having to skate or walk to the spot before putting down a session marker
