I stumbled upon a historical video yesterday talking about the Surcouf, a French cruiser submarine armed with a twin 203mm gun and planes…. Then I went down the rabbit hole of M Class British submarines….and I’m just terrified on the path WG is on regarding subs… I was aware of I-400 Japanese subs before reading all of this and basically all of this info together makes me so alarmed for the premium subs we could perhaps get in the future and I just don’t know if I can handle being double cit’d from a submarine emerging on my broadside, sinking beneath after firing his shots, and then crying as his torps finish me off.
@@Choukai_Chan at least you have a couple hundred meters to outspot them and start your turn. Z42 spots you just as you're reacting to even spotting them, and your smoke is now useless, PLUS you can't outrun them before you melt. As currently specced, this thing is a cap contesting monster on par with Ragnar, Småland and Daring.
The armor scheme is fine for what the ship is meant to do, which is basically be an unkillable brick (unless there's carriers around in which case go fuck yourself). And it has Kremlin's abysmal guns for 75% of the time until it can use its F key, so I think the ship is fine as far as superships go.

For example ships like the Bismarcks, Scharnhorst, Hippers were state of the art, same with the Panther and early Tigers, FW190s, Bf109s until the later G series, their MP40 and MP43 smgs, MG42s etc etc. It’s all gone to crap when the americans and british bombed the crap out of german facilities in 43 and 44. Until that point i would say their production quality was top notch especially comparing to the USSR during the whole war or early war american production quality. Also didn’t help that people doing forced labor in germany were happy sabotaging the goods when they could.

nah before they nerfed it Weimar had Minotaur AP dpm at t7, Agir was a monster(thanks for the nerf Flamu), and Odin was really strong. Then they got hit with nerf hammer. They always make the german ships OP to start.

As someone who has grinned all the way to kitakaze and is almost at harugomo, I am pretty pissed it’s just gonna get powercrept by a pretty much completely made up ship that’s a clone but better
harugumo is already a bit powercrept and actually pretty hard to play. i like to think it's a more of a smolensk with bad ballistics because its so clumsy and big. kitakaze is the gem.
This is still Wargaming, the last time I saw a WG employee ingame, he stood still in his vallejo and got farmed by a kita from 3km away, didnt notice it until he was on 700hp. They will add it anyway, they never care if something is balanced or not, aslong as they can shove it into the armory for $100 .
On Z-42, I was actually wondering when this would happen. For a long time I was expecting a random german destroyer premium to get battleship secondaries as it's main guns. They could probably balance it by just giving Z-42 regular 1/6th pen and some scuffed Italian torps.
@@elmateo77 If they nerf the pen than it will be like old Harugumo or Daring which needed IFHE to pen other destroyers. Thus stealing captain points for a designated build and ruining the performance against other ships. There's a reason why they gave Haru/Daring increased pen to function without it. But Z-42 would function alright like that as a meme ship because it has the hydro range. As long as they don't give it those stupidly strong torpedoes that other german DDs wish they had.

I think the devs were drunk for a change and they thought the page they were looking at in the reference book "Hardware of WW2" was titled "Z-42". It was in fact "MG-42". Explains everything. 🤣
Not going to lie, of all the things Wargaming has done, the Z-42 is the closest to bringing me back to the game, because I really love the german DDs... and miss when they were new. So much fun back then.
That's it, I've reached a tipping point. It happened in WoTs with the super TDs and the Formula 1 light tanks. I can't take it anymore. I have been playing since alpha, never let my premium laps, bought a couple gold ships every year, plus doubloons. I suspect they see the game as dying and there is an all out rush to milk it for every cent possible before they turn off the servers in a couple years. Sad.
Dupleix is pretty much La Gallisoniere with Algerie guns and more HP. Strong but I don't think it's anywhere close to being OP. Z-42 though, oh boy. As if Harugumo is not toxic enough

Dupleix has a 89k HE dpm, that's litteraly the 2nd lowest at tier VI behind Graf spee. Just as a comparison, La galissoniere, the tech tree french cruiser at the same tier has 132k HE dpm and she also comes with both a speed boost and a main battery reload booster. This ship doesnt look OP tbh, maybe the range or the hp are a bit overtuned but you gotta give her something to compensate this dreadful DPM.
"Stealth radar isn't okay" - WG devs who had their Nevsky and Petro concealment nerfed: what about stealth hydro? The less counterplay, the better, right?
When the Dev Blog says that the stats are taking the best Modules in consideration, doesn't that mean that the concealment module is already calculated? Or how does that work?
Z-42 is part of a new WG initiative to add more alternative ways to interact with submarines - shit on as many ships as possible before the submarine player can find the buttons to shotgun you back to port
Because of the low caliber, the Z-42 AP will arm on 19mm as well, like Daring and Harugumo. Z-42 is gonna clap DDs for 5-7k a salvo if they show broadside at close range. Hahaha.
While I hope German Z-42 will be better balanced but it following the trend the devs seem to have for high tier (10/11) of just power creeping everything else with each premium/new ship released. They know this ship will make money and bring back players. If anyone wants to be "meta" they will need to get this for ranked/clan battles.
Looks like Z was made on some pot smoking session in their office xD Mix of Haru, Daring and Z-52. Tbh it is not the worst thing we would have in game so and yes I would like to helm it. And 90 percent of durex players won't cross more then 2 lines from spawn like Makarovs or things like that. Just being pain in the rear end and you will not be able to get rid of them. Worse then hemorrhoids.
I play mostly dd in this game nowadays! So I can get away from subs , cvs I play mostly kleber - Groningen - kitakaze! Z42 will be my first steel ship and I also wait for the super kleber t11! Somehow we must deal the old broken dds, like Smaland

89k HE dpm is definitely not a tier 8 stat. It's not even a tier 6 stat but more a tier 5 or 4. La galissoniere has litteraly the exact same toolkit (MBRB+hydro+15% speed bbost) at tier 6 except she has 132k HE DPM Would be great if people looked at the greater picture before overreacting.
@@j.n.572 just because she has comparable DPM to one of the worse damage output at tier VIII doesnt mean she has "Tier VIII stats". You're nitpicking. I can also do that: Exeter at tier V has 68k HE DPM, thats as much as Cherbourg, so Exeter has tier VIII Stats! Please WG nerf! See? again, you have to look at ther greater picture. Sure Eugen has 92k HE DPM.... Except she has a backed in IFHE which allows her to pen up to 51mm of plating and her AP DPM isnt bad. She also has a heal which is huge for a tier VIII cruiser.
La Glass has 152mm guns, so not really a great compare as light cruisers generally have higher DPM than heavy cruisers. For example, Cleveland has 243k HE DPM vs 126-151K for all the American tier 8 heavy cruisers. San Diego, with its 127mm guns, has 274k SAP DPM. Dupliex would be a bad tier 8 as she exists, but only really needs about 4k HP and a 2-2.5 sec reload buff to be a viable tier 8. She needs a lot of balancing to be a not massively overpowered tier 6. Compare Dupliex to Pensa, Devonshire, London, or Aoba and watch them all cry. Dupiex vs Martel is really not all that far off. Martel has .7 km better range and much better dpm (137.5k HE), but 1.2 km worse detectability. Martel is .5 knots faster. Martel only has 38k HP vs 34.9k for Dupliex. Martel has .3 sec worse rudder shift but 10m better turning radius. Torps are identical for range, reload, damage, and compliment. So really not significant differences that could not easily be made up by tweaking a few stats.

Hmm ... since the model is final and they cannot delete a turret, I bet the Z-42 will end with 6.2km concealment and something like 4sec gun reload ...
That is literally an asset recycling though. So minimal effort for WG to make a Tier 10 premium. It is Z35/Z 44 hull with some high tier 105mm AA turrets.
They do this deliberately, especially with german ships. They put them in with hilarious stats, so more people buy them and then they nerf the crap out of them.
Consider this my goodbye-message to the game (I assume it's pointless to post one on the forums). I've previously uninstalled it, but in those previous cases I've always had the intention to check in back later. Not this time. Last year I already made the decision to stop spending money on the game and lately I've basically been logging in only for the reward and back out again. At some point I had to ask myself the question, what exactly it is that I'm waiting for. The things that I don't like are never going to go away, so what's the point in waiting for it. Probably going to still watch it from time to time, to enjoy the suffering of others, but I'm not going to subject myself to it anymore.
Why the heck is it sooo bad to get a really good Tier X german DD again? Even if it doesn't go live with these stats, and it probably shouldn't, even if it gets nerfed a bit, maybe reducing speed by 3 knots and increase conceal by 300m or something like that. Why not? Oh yea, I forgot - it's dev-blog ranting time.
People who actually still spend money on new premium ships pretty much deserve to get ripped off at this point. WG releases them OP/good then over nerfs, never goes back to it and repeats
