I remember seeing my brother playing this game when i was little and how amazed I was by it. I sometimes stole his game disk and just put it in and didnt even know how to play it properly because of how young I was. 12 Years later I rediscovered the game and it makes me so happy that it still has quite a huge community and even a huge modding community. One of my favorite games of all time period.
Im so happy you rediscovered this! I remember getting the goldpack disc for christmas back in 2006 along with a laptop to play it on its been my favorite game ever since!
I play this mod myself but I’ve never seen the small map, I always played it on the largest map and seeing the planets locations and connection that are added and taken away is giving me a sense of vertigo
You should make that plug in an option for the final game if possible. I’d love to be abled to tell what ships have been with me the entire game. Keep up the good work Corey
I love how hard Corey tried to get those anti-vehicle mines to actually do something. I love seeing them for the flavor and lore, but I never bother with them. They don't seem to really ever be worth it.
I've been wanting a fighter hero command staff slot for ages, and given how broken independent fighter heroes often are in this game, I am very satisfied with what I see here. Edit: I just wonder if this'll include characters that aren't part of the core command staff system. Like, once Wedge gets Lusankya, will you be able to assign Tycho to him?
Broken? If you mean that they just die randomly even though they were alive when a battle ended, then yes. But I like this new system better regardless.
@heavyarms55 I meant I've sold entire fleets as bossk or rogue squadron before, unless you have a mass of fighters or corvettes, most hero ships in a lot of mods can do crazy stuff with good micro
@@JJJBunney001 In a lot of mods, sure. In Republic at War, you can solidly wipe out every CIS fighter with half-decent micro on a couple Jedi Starfighter characters. But in the EaWX series, I've never been that impressed with the durability of non-capital ship characters. The only Fighter Characters I'll feel comfortable using are the spawning ones that are essentially immortal so long as their capital spawner character survives the battle.
@@natesiress1057 Yeah, I can never bring myself to use any Jedi starfighter heroes for that reason. Even with the Skywatcher buff, Anakin is more likely to get insta-focused down by a barrage of fighter concs or corvette fire than to actually do anything or survive a battle. Though it doesn't seem like this address that, unless Jedi in space just automatically attach to the largest ship as a fighter spawn.
One thing id love in the future if possible Corey is to have different coloured hero icons based on type their level. For example Tier 1. white Tier 2. Yellow 3. Orange 4 red and so on. I think it makes managing fleets and which heroes to put into which armies and fleets easier to get the best benefits from them. Possibly doing this for different ship types too like anti fighters red, Capital Ships White Super Capitals yellow and so forth that would be super useful and cool for managing your own armies and fleets but also recognising and learning the classes the army and fleets of other factions too so you know how to counter them or challenge them easier.
Random though, I always thought main fighter heroes died very quickly in most situations. Is there a thought that for like Jedi heroes to have Jedi cruisers with a fighter hero spawning from them like the grievous mechanic? Looking forward to 1.4!
Dooku should get a -15% cost reduction with administrative ability. To have that in the “northeast” corner and with Gunray in the “southwest” would be a good boon for CIS. If you mean combat ability bonus for “command stats” for heroes. Yoda should be lvl 4, anakin and kenobi lvl 3, mace lvl 2. Give us the ability to increase “council” maximum 3x instead of once. To have Ki-Adi and Plo-Koon on the field at the same time as era 2 start of large map Jedi. Perhaps era 4 unlock? Make it take up a build slot instead of a researchable tech? Dunno. It would be great to see an additional Mandalorian ship class, heavy frigate or something. Depending on which branch you choose? Trade off, instead of commandos you get extra ship class? Just for flavor really. Providence should get a base cost reduction, and increased build time.
have to say, having played some .4 for a while now, i LOVE the fighter hero change, i hadnt realized how much i would like that change, but it feels very power positive and is very fun. whereas before id almost exclusively ignore fighter Heros because they died so easily now i actually see and use them in combat. i really hope the system continues to receive work from your team but even if it stops here its a fantastic addition!

Man, some of these changes are rad! I'm loving the option to attach fighter heroes to fleet commanders, that sounds super fun for RP purposes. Automating patron units is slick too. As for possible pushback to faction colors, don't let the haters get you down. Anyone who's that pissed about a change should learn to mod their own faction colors themselves, if it means that much to them.
So in-universe since Korda 6 is just independant and/or neutral, does that make the Republic invasion of Korda 6 the same kind of attack as the invasion of Mandalore?
Would it be possible to expand the fighter staff system of attaching a unit to spawn from another one to other things? The obvious example would be having a padawan or a clone commander spawn from their related command staff option. While I like having Ahsoka around I'm definitely not going to fire Mace Windu or something just to have her in battles. By way of balance maybe if they're attached to a superior in this way, they spawn in a nerfed form rather than their command staff version. So say you get one-saber Ahsoka instead of two, with lower stats. Or if you assign Fordo to Obi-Wan he doesn't come with the LAAT, etc.
Hello, during your passage of the game, I noticed that this game has two new campaigns in historical conflict. I would be interested in what is there about what, in general, what tasks are involved in these two new campaigns, which heroes are involved on the part of the Republic and the Confederation. Well, I think you understand what I'm hinting at. I would appreciate it if you would show me how these two campaigns are going, first I would like to see for the Republic, then for the Confederation, or vice versa, I don't care. Thank you in advance
Am I wrong or could the game music do with raising a smidgen so that it isn't so much of a faint tease? Really good gameplay 👌 👍 Wishing for more arty and one flyer unit (for easy scouting for arty) deployed for ground battles.
I'm pretty sure that if a single member is lost, that member doesn't respawn. So if you lose Sev for example, you then have a three-man Delta, and so on until they're wiped out.
I don't think they last. The largest the Repub COULD have is ISD-1's and Mandators, whereas TR factions all have larger and stronger SSD's, capital ships, etc
I got huge problems to play the game. it crashes so often or my saves are going to get corrupted. is there a list of things to do to play this game (with mods) without some technical problems along the road? it feels like evryone had watched some video to change there settings but i cant find it. any help would be a dream. (sorry for my english)
@@ogamer9250 does it give you any error or just doesn't load up? It could be a long shot but if your system has any issues using DX9 try installing DXVK 64bit version for empire at war. It forces the game to use Vulcan instead. Usually boosts fps and can make the game more stable. Its literally just drag and drop 4 files into the folder where the main game exe is located. If it doesn't work delete the DXVK files.
Hey Corey :) I just wanted to ask if there is a chance that the EotH will get some help/ love in the next patch? Because with their eceptionally bad eco and also no room for expansions (with Pentastar north, 250-500 starting pop stacks on all the idenpendents south), they are currently really struggeling and tend to just get stomped very early.
Do you have any tips on getting good at the game? Cause I keep trying to play Empire but I early on recieve an attack on one of my planets where the New Republic has a lot more forces, but I don't want to retreat because I have a Golan 3 station there, but I also don't have much to defend with other than a Victory and 2 Dreadnoughts and some super small ships, but I don't know super well what I'm doing in the game yet, so I don't really know what the best strategies for defending is and I'm also really bad at ground assaults and I usually tend to just have all my forces just parade throughout destroying the enemy when attacking and when defending my badly outnumbered forces get demolished. So I have just adopted a thing of taking as many enemies as possible with me Edit: I'm kinda in disbelief that I asked this 6 months ago because now it feels too easy, I must have learned/remembered a lot from when I played in years past and learned new things cause it does not feel so difficult now
Keep all of your warships even or slightly behind the Golan 3. Send your fighters & bombers to knock out the engines of mid to light warships, can also target the fighter bays. This slows the enemy so you're not having to fight everything at once. Let that Golan be the tank it's designed to be, don't get in front of it.
@@stubenatorm3370 yeah, I've relearned a lot and learned some new stuff too so it's quite a lot easier now, but I do always appreciate advice like this. I usually now send my bombers and fighters to knock out the engines of the strongest enemy ships so that my ships can take care of the weaker ones first and then focus on the bigger stronger ones when they show up. But knocking out the engines of the mid to light warships might not be a bad idea
Martz was in the previous versions. They just added Stinnet as his first name because in the German version of Republic Commando, that was how Martz was translated.
@@nemesis1st Yeah, I saw the conversation in the discord. But in the mod it's still "they" and canonically Martz' sex is unknown. And frankly from the icon it could go either way, should really have gone with one of the alternatives if you preferred that direction.
one thing that is very stupid and disappointing is that you have to do Order 66 in order to get the Imperator, when in lore the Republic had the Imperator class Star Destroyer even before Order 66 and there even were very likely Jedi that had Imperators as their flagships, though it was in the final days of the Republic that it was made, it still saw action in the Republic
Every ship in this era of Star Wars has about 7 introduction dates and the Republic roster has a trillion overlapping units, so we have to make choices which make thematic sense and allow us to organize their roster in a way that makes sense for gameplay as well.
The named ships are just newly-coded versions of the ship with a text string, nothing particularly special. The plugin doesn't create the ships, it just swaps them with the named ones when built. The new EaW patch however has a much better implementation of EaW's in-built naming system.
@@CoreyLoses I’ll have to get back into it. I’ve been playing the EAW REMAKE clone wars holdout submod. I’ve had a few various results between no changes in the name, empty names/ descriptions and every individual battle the name changes to one of the multiple names I’ve placed in the code. I’m pretty inexperienced so I think I just need to experiment. Thank you for the reply!

Am I the only one having issues with the mods after the update. My FPS have dropped significantly since the update, and I know it's not my computer so I'm not sure what the issue is
nah bad idea if he just says we do x thing diferent some people go around saying corey talked smack about the other mods, which is annoying to everyone so he kinda sticks to the stuffthe team makes
