New Shop and Autopilot Servo Installation

After a long break moving from Utah to Texas and settling into a new house, I first needed to build a new shop, before I could continue with the build. But before I could cover the fuselage with fabric, I needed to install the autopilot servos. This episode covers configuring the new garage/shop and fabricating the autopilot servo mounts under the co-pilot’s seat.

I just found this channel. What a great video series! Thank you for taking the time to post these. I am excited to see all of the technical behind the scenes stuff - slack in the electrical, mounting points and rationale, etc. Great stuff.

Your roll servo looks good and good catch on the seat pull pin. How is the servo/seat clearance with someone sitting in the seat? The Rans seats tend to flex and give up a little bit with moderate use. I have seen zipties used to support passenger weight, laces and probably the best solution, an actual aluminum seat pan. Your plane is really coming together!

Mjbrennan. Thanks for your comment. The roll cable runs to the outside edge of the seat pan, so the sag would be more towards the center of the seat. And there is still plenty of vertical clearance for the bridle clamp from the seat pan. So I don't need to worry about seat clearance. It's that pull pin that's causing all the trouble. Hopefully my fix will take care of that problem.
