I don’t enjoy when products cause warmth on my skin, I’d discontinue use. Even my tretinoin has only caused warmth once when I was too drunk and use glycolic acid, moisturizer then tret. Lesson learned lol! Side note I got the Isintree Yam Milk cleanser and agree with you! It melts into skin like no other milk cleanser, love sharing our skin type. I appreciate all of your reviews! 😊

Eeeh one of my favs 🤩 that cleanser is so wonderful for dry skin Yuuup, it’s never happened without eventual irritation before so…I’m erring on the side of caution (especially since realizing I definitely have heard of the brand before, and not in a good way)

Ah I can’t wait to read it! I understand the idea with Botox comparisons when talking about argireline, but as someone who uses it pretty frequently, i still feel it’s not identical in terms of results. “Less intense botox alternative” might be a better description imo (I do think it does something…or I’m just less angry with the world these days 🤣😂)

Good scientists do not use "prove" or "proven" Whenever I see this I am immediately suspicious, scientists can gather evidence that supports or refutes. FYI, I really appreciate your honest reactions/reviews. Discussing pros and cons is very helpful, I like the way you point out that some may or may not like the texture/feel, or scent of something. I can't understand why people take your reviews and experiences as a personal attack. I have had reactions to several products that other people "love". I think it is important to remember that we are all different.

I’m actually really happy that Stratia used this peptide complex. There are only 2 brands that I know of who use the exact same peptide complex and that is Sacheu Skin “we occlusive” and Drunk elephant protini-mind you there is one or two more added peptides in drunk elephant along with other good things but hella $$$ so it’s very nice to see a moisturizing cream using that complex under 28$

Wow, I forgot about that Lab Muffin video. If the brand was being completely transparent, they would say the product could induce a warm feeling and warn people to stop use. In theory combining things like retinol and vitamin c and others can work but you're relying on the cosmetic chemists/formulators tweaking it to the proper pH and ideally, clinical tests. There are some brands that combine this duo and AHAs that derms recommend like the skinbetter alpharet but that contains a retinyl ester and THD and is expensive. I think strivectin and kate somerville have a ascorbic acid and retinol serums (also expensive), paula's choice has one with THD and even neutrogena has a couple (one that has SPF which seems really weird to me).

@dayzdnconfuz3d Год назад
Probably the Azelaic acid re the warm flushed sensation… which is pretty standard and one of the few cases where that feeling doesn’t warrant stopping treatment… either way - it’s nice to have these ingredients formulated into one formula- since theoretically the delivery system/form of ingredients they are using are compatible with one another - so you don’t have to worry about ingredients conflicting/irritating/etc.
@juhnetmickerdy
@juhnetmickerdy Год назад
Hi Alice! While I generally agree that you should apply retinol to dry skin. I have to confess that I do not do that I apply mines to damp skin and I’ll explain why. I currently use a very low percentage of retinol because my skin can’t handle high percentages, now with that being said the formula that I use does not budge on dry skin. It is so weird but I’ve tried it and it does not spread but when I applied it to slightly damp skin made damp by the azelaic acid serum that I apply first and let dry 70% of the way it sinks in instantly so I definitely don’t recommend doing what I do but this is what works for me and I don’t get any irritation or sensitivity! also checked with my Derm and she says it’s fine 👍 Yeah, gel cleansers are not my preference but I do enjoy them occasionally! especially when they’re formulated with amino acids. They don’t strip my skin at all! Great video as usual! Entertaining and informative.
@AliceintheRabbitHole
@AliceintheRabbitHole Год назад
Interesting! I feel it can make sense, as a lower percentage would be less irritating, thus offering more flexibility in how you apply? This reminds me of my own internal debate with slugging over my retinoid lol. I saw conflicting opinions from derms, but in the end it works…for me. Not sure I would recommend it to others, but it’s great on my skin, or maybe I should even emphasize: great on my skin NOW lol 😄

Fun fact: my face became less sensitive on spironolactone. It also was a godsend for my breakouts. I used to just get mild acne all over my face, even with tretinoin. Spiro booped all my remaining breakouts and I have clear skin for the first time in my entire life. I’m now using moisturizers I swore irritated me prior to. Or maybe it was because all the topicals irritated my skin and made it more prone to breaking out from any changes. 🤷‍♀️ Have you considered using topical spiro? It seriously changed my life regarding my acne. I went from obsessive about my acne to finding even more joy in my skincare again.

Nice to have a more affordable option in the mix too 😁 And yeah, the thing I never understand about the Botox in a bottle claims is that if it was true, nobody would be forking over a couple hundred every few months for the real thing.
