@@hyperbolekid There is sooo much nu metal influence in STP dude. If you knew the members you would know what they grew up on. The drums take heavy inspiration from nu metal as well bluddd.
@@ghost_to_a_ghostIt's so metallic and just sings like a demon... I think the producer has done some sidechain compression to make it pop through the kicks and 808 bass, real nice production on this.
Was hyped to finally see Nik’s reaction pop up on constant refreshing. Seen some wild comments across reactions channels to this song complaining it was no Viking or demolisher. Not every song can be Demolisher. There is simplicity and greatness in tracks like this as well. And best part…it’s one song from an ENTIRE UPCOMING ALBUM. Let’s just enjoy it for what it is!
I was watching Tank's video on Viking and he said that Alex mentioned before he's getting tired of the deathcore sound and will try to move away from it. So of course this won't be like Demolisher or Viking. I'm just happy this is heavy and dumb.
This is also just seems like a song the whole band enjoyed doing? Even the video, it just seems like it fits the entire team and I love it. Yeah, be different every now and then. I agree w you 100%
@@Tmoney445 Brother, people compare bands all the time it's not new. Plus, the way Slaughter is writing their songs recently is very much like ST or Iowa Slipknot, they are also a huge inspiration to them as well. In the end, it's kinda hard not to compare them to Slipknot with those factors.
@@Tmoney445 The fact you have to bring in the "overrated and overplayed" comment says quite a bit. The only "overplayed" stuff about Slipknot is their tracks "Psychosocial", "Duality", and "Custer" (thank TikTok for that). Those are the only tracks I can see being overrated and overplayed. I don't care if others don't like the band, I like them and that's it. Anyways onto my real argument... I listen to both bands, huge fan of both, I can say whatever I want about them. So, as I said in my original comment, it's basically like "Get This" or "Eeyore", as in the way it's structured is similar to those songs, they are fast and aggressive while also having chunky and groovy parts to them. Even the breakdown in this song is sounding more like a Slipknot breakdown, specifically the breakdowns from Self-Titled and Iowa (Iowa more specifically). In the end, I see the early Slipknot influence on this track. If you don't like me comparing it, all I can say is shut up and go bitch about something else that's actually worth whining about. I'm here to enjoy some metal music, whether it be this, classic Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, or the "overrated and overplayed" Slipknot.
On the reel posted on IG by Alex, someone in the comments said for 4:05 'I FARTED UOOOOooOooooOoOoOoOoOoOooOoOoOoOoOoOoOo'. Good job on making that what I hear every time I listen now.
The Metal Gods smiled upon us this past week. New STP, Knocked Loose, brand new album from Job for a Cowboy. Any chance of you reviewing JFAC’s new stuff? I think it’s incredible
@@martiijn I know. I really haven’t heard much from the metal guys that I watch and I’m over here telling everyone that will listen how fucking great “Moon Healer” is.
The drum work on this is so FK'n amazing. This band is so percussion driven and I love it... I love that his drumset he doesn't have to be airlifted into it. It is just a basic setup and all that craziness is awesome...
VIKING was at the top of my everyXcore playlist with Knocked Loose's Deep In The Etc. but i just topped the list off with new tracks from both bands. both of these bands (and Darko) are really shaking things up and i am here for it. 🤘
I don't know why I've slept on this band for so long 🤦🏻 but the last 24 hours I've listened to a lot of slaughter to prevail and Alex terrible covers and every bit of it is f****** awesome
They're mixing a really cool blend of an oldschool and newschool vibe. The more thrashy sound fits them perfectly. Idk why, but I've been expecting some Slayer style solo 😁 I hope they're going to move in that direction
Hey Nik! Love your stuff, been a huge fan for a while now. You should definitely do a series where you listen to small bands with almost no fans and give criticism and honest reviews
Actually he did have a series like that, where he went on Spotify and gave a smash or pass to low viewed bands. You might have to search back a bit but I think he has at least 3 or 4 videos of him doing that.
LFGOOOO this is a great quick and dirty yet excellent beat your fuckin' azz song from the metal GOATs at the moment. Fuck yes. I'm going to play this in the background when I call the IRS next time lol.
Solid gym track I hope they keep going this direction in the future… didn’t Alex mention a while ago that they want to do more hardcore related stuff and not the typical deathcore stuff 🤔
Lots of cool fun metal things dropping recently Darkest Hour full length album, New Born of Osiris (smacks), Divisive "umbra" crazy song, Upon a Burning Body bringing the bulldozer bass, Cabal remixes in the style of electronic and yes the new Knocked Loose will blow ur mind. Still waiting for Oceano to drop something tho....
Not your usual metal but you should definitely check out Utsu-P. Japanese metal producer that uses vocaloids (yes, Hatsune Miku for example) for singing and screaming. Good starting points are "Vulgar", "Ga" and "Bizarre Food". I think they will surprise you.
