Thanks for you thoughts on this issue. I got it to upgrade my webcam, so long form content is my game! No recording, just HDMI out (no streaming) in standby doing its tricks like AF, auto framing and show case. I’ll try that 1080p25, I guess, to see whether it can last longer. Thanks for the video! :-)

Definitely enjoy the video and I opted to get the FX series of Sony cameras just to eliminate the overheating issues.

I never expected to love ZVE1 as much as I do. For short clips when hiking, it serves my needs the low light performance delights me.

Heads up, the 1080p is one of the only cameras on the market that Oversamples from 4k making it very sharp and excellent when going through the RU-vid compression or if outputting as 4k even. Only older Canon cinema cameras have done oversampled 1080 so that is a low key amazing ability.

Just found your channel - dope content man. Advice on a camera for occasional pictures but mainly vlogging and my workouts? I’ve rented the a74 s5 ii and fx30 and liked them all but couldn’t determine which I liked best
@KeepingThisTech
@KeepingThisTech Год назад
Thanks for watching the video! Appreciated it… as for my take on which camera you may want to consider.. I’d say Sony gives you more options and advantage with the lens available to them. Not knocking the S5ii but the autofocus isn’t on Sony’s or Canon’s level yet. So my recommendation would be A74! However, If you’re not dead set on full frame, I say check out the A6700 when it’s available to pick up.. just seen Dan Watson’s video and he had a dope breakdown of its strengths and weaknesses! On paper, you’re getting the menu, software updates/improvements of the ZV-E1, APSC photo specs of the A7R5 with a few exceptions, video updates from the FX30! That’s sounds like a sick combo!! End of the day, you can’t go wrong with any of them but it’s ultimately going to be what’s best for you.

Appreciate your honest opinion. Btw what's the wait time after it has overheated and shut down?
@KeepingThisTech
@KeepingThisTech Год назад
thanks for watching the video! if you want to continue recording after a shut down the wait can vary depending on the frame rate and other conditions but typically cool down time is about 10-15mins to squeeze another 30mins out of the camera runtime.. those are my numbers anyways..

I haven’t had it overheating at all in my use case and love the camera. But I keep getting white ‘hot’ pixels in low light shooting, have you ever seen that? Remapping seems to work and get rid of them for a while.

This was such a pure and genuine video about the camera. I just bought it and I love it. I’ve only shot on it indoors for one day. I live in Orlando and will be going to Disney later today. We’ll see how it performs. I’m mainly going to use it for vlogging and short form content in 4k/24. I should be fine- I hope.

I’d be filming outside about 45min-1hr a day. I’ll probably just film in 1080p since I’m just uploading to RU-vid. Do you think I’ll have any overheating issues in just 1080p for my use case? I’ve already pre ordered the A7C ii but since my main use is video I’m considering this instead.
@KeepingThisTech
@KeepingThisTech 11 месяцев назад
Hey thanks for checking out the video! 1080p 24p shouldn't give you a problem. Unless your in a really hot climate like Texas, Florida continuously recording directly under the sun for 45mins to an hr straight, the ZV-E1 should be fine. Another way to keep it from overheating is to drop the quality from 10Bit 4.2.2 to 8 Bit 4.2.0. That setting doesn't tax the processor as much.. and the 8bits generates the internal heat much slower. I'm preordering the A7C II also! Looking forward to the end of Sept!

Thanks for the review. My suspicion is that Sony cameras overheat sooner if the AF-C and /or IBIS is working hard. Wonder if using something like a dummy battery / battery grip would help. Sony should make one of those optional external fans that screw on the back the way Fuji has done.
@KeepingThisTech
@KeepingThisTech Год назад
I've tried a dummy battery no improvement, unfortunately. I'll also add to have to disengage the IBIS and AF-C to get it to work correctly would be unacceptable - thankfully that's not the case. There really is no remedy to the overheating except to keep the camera cool.. If the internal temp hits a set threshold, its a wrap for the zv-e1. Totally agree Sony should make a fan for the cameras. Ulanzi has a fan for the ZV-E1.. i think they start shipping at the end of august.. appreciate you checking out the video!
@marinrealestatephotography
@marinrealestatephotography Год назад
@@KeepingThisTech Thanks for the reply and for the update on the Ulanzi fan. Thinking out loud here: Maybe for a lot of people shopping in the $2,500 prece range, a used a7S III MIGHT be the better play???
@KeepingThisTech
@KeepingThisTech Год назад
@@marinrealestatephotography if you’re planning on putting your camera to work and it’s not going to be used casually than - 1000%…a used A7siii over the ZV-E1 any day of the week. The A7siii will also be much better for interior photography!

Are you shooting hs 265 or a s 264? 264 probably overheats less Mine doesn’t even show a heat warning at 4k30 in 80F for over an hour
@KeepingThisTech
@KeepingThisTech Год назад
Yes, I’m setting the camera to 264, 265 doesn’t allow for 30p. Unfortunately, I not getting your results at 4K/30 on the ZV-E1.. appreciate you watching the video!!

I think people forget easily that there was a camera called the canon r5 that overheated all the time and people made videos just to get views kinda like this video. Marketed as an 8k video camera. 3 years, I see no complaints.

Are you shooting this video on ZV-E1? For videocasting, which do you think matters more, F-stop or Fullframe? e.g. APS-C f1.4 vs Full-frame f2.0
@KeepingThisTech
@KeepingThisTech 9 месяцев назад
In terms of light gathering, the 1.4 technically win out of an f2. Note bokeh effect will be the really similar but that “win” (if you want to call it that) will be cancelled out by the full frame’s sensor in broader situations. But in a real world application like you’re asking about, If you’re scene is well it you won’t really notice a difference. Thanks for checking out the video!!

Yeah, I seen your video a few weeks back… no lie, I tried everything you say you did in the video and I didn’t get the same outcome, not even close. But I guess that’s the way it goes.. Maybe some cameras run longer then others. Idk but More than that, I found the long run times, if achieved, aren’t always repeatable at least in my experience.
