I saw an ad for this game on RU-vid once before, and I thought it looked interesting. With the demo now out, this game is unironically sick and it's definitely going on my "to-play" list when it comes out. The only thing I'd say is that when the player gets hit there doesn't seem much of a like, flinch or reaction you just kinda take damage.

I really hope you make a series of this game, it's so fun to watch

Locksmith Serrated Saw is 100% Kingdom Hearts The old man it's referring to is Xehanort I believe, and I think that's Terra's keyblade. Also, literally no other game has you swinging around giant keys lol But that's so fun, that a majority of the weapons are going to be references. Reminds me of Terraria

Myth, I'd highly recommend you play the game Shadows of the Damned. It's a really fun 3rd person action horror game I think you'd really get a kick out of. It's wicked fun and really funny, it'd make for a great series. Either way, keep up the great work!

Some menu's don't feel responsive purely as a result of the devs not spending enough time refining them. Some people just aren't good at doing it, which is why UI designer is an actual job in the game industry and still requires you to be able to program it all in.

Gotta say I am a little baffled by the stick figure model choice if it's for any other reason than ease of modeling/animating.

to answer Mythy's question about why some games have menu interfaces that perform like crap. It's generally because the game or tool developers, or game artists are expected to create them, and none of these folk are menu development experts. Game developers specialize in implementation of game rule using the pre-existing game engine, tool provided to them by the tool developers, and assets provided by the game artists. Tool developers specialize in the development of the "offline" tools or software used by game developers and artists to produce the game itself, none of these are expected to used by gamers. Game artists are talented muthafokers, but they're usually not software developers and have no means to optimize the performance and/or behavior of game systems beyond the optimization of the assets (models, animations, textures, etc.) they produce. TLDR: game development companies do not hire experts in menu (i.e. user-experience) development. Instead, they ask their other developers to do the work and hope for the best. background: I am and have been a software engineer for over 20 years. I have no worked on games professionally, but have worked on pretty much everything else professionally. I have made small games (none for publication, none anyone but me would want to actually play) using UE, Unity, and older game engines as a hobby.

You should play Fight Knight. Its a punchout dungeon crawler where you climb a tower because you can.

The backstory seems clear from the context, the names of the character classes, the narrator's dialog, etc. Clearly the game world is dying and the player is either a program or programmer trying to save it. I'm definitely here for it, though. Super interested to see the narrator come around and the world be restored as you progress.
