The Associated Press has captured footage of a new species of arachnid on camera for the first time. Biologists in southern Spain discovered the new species - the first of its kind to be found in the country in 200 years. Gluvia brunnea belongs to the order solifugae and, although they are sometimes called camel spiders, they're actually a different creature altogether. #arachnid #insects #science #news #spain

This is a wind scorpion. Found in N. California at my home. Very, very fast, with huge incisors. I captured one and placed it in a jar capped with a clear plastic bag and rubber band only to discover the next day that the jar was empty and there was a hole in the plastic. 😬😱 The next one I caught had a mason jar with metal lid. We caught a fly for it, and it instantly jumped and attacked it. It was one of the scariest spiders I'd ever seen, but it turns out they are beneficial (preying on insects we don't want around and other spiders) and they are not true spiders. It was many years later that I found this info in a library book in a completely different region.
@gingermcgingin4106
@gingermcgingin4106 3 месяца назад
So these aren't actually spiders nor scorpions, they're their own group of arachnids know as solifuges, also they don't have incisors, they have chelicerae (which means 'claw lip'), like all other chelicerates.

Not nearly as bad as some videos but when you're showing a new species of spider. Don't show video of any other spiders. It really ruins the authenticity.

This is like real life Pokemon except they discovered a new species! Makes sense if the creature is super fast and flees before anyone can see it!

No, they are super aggressive and not that fast.I had one crawling up my leg in bed. Grabbed it with my blanket, threw it all on the floor,crushed it then microwaved it. I've seen them eat a scorpion,as it pulled it closer the scorpion stung it, as that thing was pulling it in and eating it. Lots of crawling critters out in the desert

Don't tell me there are more kinds of spiders. Why can't you tell me all spiders in the world have died? Or at least moved to a remote island with no people?

So what he's saying is instead of being paralyzed and liquefied the bugs are horribly ripped to shreds while still alive….
