A slower evolving Metagame is actually a benefit in my opinion. I've been saying for years that 3 Sets a year is the perfect cad3nce for both Collectors and Players.
@@beardedcat9744 well there are set to release the fourth set in May which is 6 months after the release of the 1st set and they have issued release dates for the sixth set in September, so that seems to me like 6 set.
@@anthonybalestreri3553 That isn’t a year though? Half of 2023 has 2 sets, 2024 has 4 sets. Same logic would apply to Starwars then since there’s supposedly 3 sets this year then 2 more before their 1 year.
Final season of Bad Batch has been awesome IMO....There was a small amount of Mandalorian and Sequel trilogy representation in set 1. Kylo Ren is on the Agression card, an Mando is on the Snapshot Reflexes card. I like that they teased those characters like that. I think bringing in characters from those shows will widen the player base. Great videos! Keep up the good work
WATCH BAD BADTCH!!!!! DO IT NOW!!! It's season three, the final season. Cram season 1-2, 3-4 ep a day and you can get through it and ride along with the show during this final stop.
Set 1 had all the primary and secondary characters from the Rebels animated series, except Ahsoka Tano and Darth Maul. I would have bet money that they'd be the feature characters from set 2, and I'm quite disappointed that they're not. Still, I'll be very excited to get cards from The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch (you should watch it)! But episodes 7-9 are not Star Wars movies, so I'll probably just buy singles for set 2, instead of boxes, so I can skip the stuff I don't care about.
Recently bought the starter set for this game and considered buying some singles to make decks around characters I like. Will definitely be buying in on anything Mandalorian-related in this set, as that's the thing that literally, after nigh on 30 years of "eh, I don't really care about Star Wars", finally got me into Star Wars. The starter set being Mando vs. Gideon is SO GOOD for me because Mando is one of my favorite characters and Gideon is one of my favorite villains, so that's gonna be something I keep sleeved and boxed as a two player "board game" style duel deck.
Hey Wossy I really appreciate that you continue to cover other games than One Piece on this channel. I know One Piece is the only thing that really brings in the views, but it’s good to have variety and get your take on a variety of games out there.
I just got back from "Source Comics and Games" in Roseville Minnesota and they still have booster boxes, but aren't selling them. And they've limited the number of booster packs you can buy to 6. They still host weekly constructed match play (with a booster per win,) unsure if they do weekly draft or not. I used to play limited draft at Dreamer's Vault in Champlin MN on mondays but they put that on hold since they're running really low in boosters.
I wish Gamegenic would produce a SWU desk mat. (Way oversized mouse pads.) They have room to put all kinds of artwork on it. They could combine all the artwork from all their playmats. I know I'd buy that in a heartbeat. The playmats are already kinda oversized mousepads as it is.
Do any of you guys know if they will make more spark of rebellion product? I've been a long time PTCG player and I know TPCI does print more from older sets and releases them out into the wild. I really hope they do this with SOR because it's going to cost a fortune to build decks if not.
My concern right now is not being able to get enough from set 1 before set 2 drops due to the fact that smaller game stores will never be sent product because of reps catering to the bigger stores. I want to support my LGS, and I don't care for the idea of a game being driven so intently on FOMO. Like my experience with Lorcana, I'm not going to keep interest in a game that I can't possibly keep up with, watching set after set release while I struggle to even get in. I feel July is too soon for release of set two.
I think releasing three sets a year instead of 4 is good for those of us on a limited budget who want to collect at least a base set or maybe get their hands on enough of the cards in a set to build some different decks. Hopefully FFG will have a larger print run on set 2 so that the supply doesn't start running out two weeks after release and causing 30% -40% price spikes on booster boxes like happened with Spark of Rebellion. Oh, and BTW Fantasy Flight, WHERE ARE MY TUSKEN RAIDERS?!🤨
idk why but i have a feeling this game is going to explode.... if the gameplay is fun, there are wayyyyyyy too many star wars die hards in this world for it to fail
Loving the game - I’ve always been a kitchen table TCG player and this is my first foray into organized play. It’s been a blast - we ran out of table space at my go-to shop this week!
I'd rather have 2 sets per game or less cards per set. It's not like everyone wants to catch up the meta constantly and spend tons of money on new legendary cards.
Super excited about the next set!! Enjoying playing and collecting, haven’t played any TCG’s so still getting used to it. Also the bad batch is definitely worth the watch!
The Mando playmat is kinda a joke. Why isn't Grogu on it, and why is the dark saber? Grogu is what sells, and they smashed the dark saber relagating it to an after thought. That playmat is a joke.
I much prefer a slower release. I'm completely burnt out on the pace that mtg saturates the market with product. I'm still new to pokemon so I can't really comment on their release schedule.
