This is one of the prettiest sections of the whole picture. The many colourful yarns in the needlework box, the pretty fireplace. Stitching „A Stitching shelf“ SSMC it will be a few years before I get to this section. Y felicidades por la venta de la casa. Hace más de 20 años, también dejamos el cálido país para volver a Alemania…fría ☺️.

Gracias martina, Por fin lo hicimos desde Escocia.... no sin muchos problemas con los bancos que lo complican todo!! Disfruta tu fin de semana ! :)

@@TheStitchyWitch Nos pareció que España ya tenía más burocracia que Alemania, que es conocida por ello. Que tengas también un buen fin de semana. 😉

Beautiful stitching. I love 22 count, it's all I ever use. Can't wait to see your progress on this one

Love the new start. I roll my fabric horizontally and stitch in hand after watching Stitching Mommy's tutorials. I can bring the stitching closer to my old eyes this way. I am working on a large HAED, Cool Cool Water with lots of sky. I like to stitch the boring sky area similar to the way you are doing but in heavy confetti I find it easier to use the cross country diagonal method. I've tried other methods but keep coming back to this.

How about gridding..it would make a huge difference to your confidence in counting. I take a Frixion pen and grid as I go, meaning that I will do a few squares, while I’m on my scroll frame. Then, I don’t have the hassle of gridding the whole thing at the beginning, which I don’t like anymore than you do!!! Just try an small area where you are now working, and see how you feel! Cheers!

I saw the same video and wanted to give the method a try too! Love trying new methods. I've been a cross country stitcher (mostly). I have two new starts trying parking again. (Thanks to your videos!) Here is one tip I can give when "counting" to travel cross country. I call it "triangulating". If I have to travel/count a little out of my comfort zone (more than 5 stitches), I check my position against 3 other stitches already stitched on the fabric. (I call those "road markers".) If there are not enough road markers in the area . . . I park the thread in the spot before the big count. Then pick it up again to finish off the thread when there are more "road markers" in the area.

What a surprise to see your new start. I bought and started this chart on impulse this week. Too much stress, in desperate need of some distraction…. Normally I am stitching cross country. For this project I decided to try the working in blocks and parking method you do. Looking forward to see your experience. I am only 300 xx in, it is fun to do, though it is much slower for me.

Yes I agree, I don't know why but this chart made me think .. de-stress mode!! Love to know how you get on with the blocks and parking, keep in touch! Enjoy your weekend :)

This is a beautiful section of the larger chart. Think if you do this method within a set boundary you'll get used to it soon. I do this with several of my wips. I tend to change my method daily... sometimes multiple times a day lol

Love the new start. The picture looks stunning. I have just started a new project and I’m doing it diagonally started doing the parking method but it drove me insane. I just don’t like the hanging threads. So I’m now doing it cross country on the diagonal. Really enjoying this method. Hope everything goes ok with the house sale.

Love your new start Carla. Curious how you like that method. And have you ever tried cross country within the diagonal?? I am doing that now and really liking it. Hope things work out with your house sale. Sending happy thoughts for you😍🤗

Oh, I can't wait to see this one progress! I've been thinking about getting a couple of the Stitch in Time scenes as quick stitches. I've never done a big full coverage and those seem doable. That being said, I recently bought a couple Scarlet Quince charts. Really want to do them, but didn't realize that they mostly use blended threads. How in the world do I keep a fairly decent backside for a Scarlet Quince pattern? Do you know how you would tackle it? I bought 18ct gridded aida, but would love some advice. What fabric would you use?
@TheStitchyWitch
@TheStitchyWitch 2 года назад
Are you able to ask someone whose doing that pattern ? I don't think I would use a small count for blended threads, probably 20 count as I'd worry the blend effect would disappear in tiny stitches. Just my two cents. Hope it works out well for you 🙂

Love this new start! Wondering how you kit up your WIPs. Do you purchase full set of floss for each? Or do you work from a centralized collection of flosses?
@TheStitchyWitch

I have a few boxes which I purchased called Lunar Box on amazon. I kit up each project with them, I also have a double-sided box where I keep the extra flosses.

this is gorgeous I really want to work on a HEAD but I don't know if I'll stick to it, also glad I'm not the only one that has issues with the thread wanting to obey me and go into the eye of the needle they like to fight me most days I stitch and I use the biggest one too cause my eye aren't great. It wont stop me from doing a hobbie I love
