@@ulissesjunior5280yo.... you Friday expecting too. Me too. And I never thought id be down with the me too crew. But hey here im am waiting. I got the 512 oled. I got like $200 of accessories for it. Copper heatsink upgrade for the stock 512 ssd nvme. Not updating to a TB yet. And a bumch of other things. What do you know about dual booting windows? Should it be done?
You notice the difference when you keep it side by side. I dont think its gonna make any huge difference when you’re not looking side by side and only focusing on the game
Me saliste en inglés de repente y flipas jajaja de escucharte en español me has dejado loco jajaja suerte con el canal en ingles, seguro que lo haces tan bien como en el de español
It’s a nice upgrade but not worth the price to upgrade unless you really don’t care about the money 😢😢. I want one but will just wait till the steam deck 2
@@goestheboom5211 Probably 2025.... i'll still wait. Not worth selling a steam deck I got half year ago, and upgraded to 1TB. All LCD steam decks just plummeted in resale value for obvious reasons, and the OLED steam deck no longer has a cheap low storage version to upgrade.
There is a lot of other changes not mentioned in the video, but yeah if you are tight on money and already have the first one then you are probably alr
I had to put a matte screen protector on my base lcd model…that thing was literally a mirror. As a father of 4 who plays around the house and occasionally outside while smoking a blunt…that glossy screen was crappy even under normal house config…I purchased the 1tb OLED model which was $703 after tax…also the iPhone 14 model that I paid in full a couple months ago at $930…the screen is too glossy and reflects a lot it’s also OLED but who cares at that point.
On the one hand, the OLED model is a pretty big improvement. On the other, I only have 2 hands and the OG deck is still great. Since my computer died I've been docking the Deck and using it as a psuedo desktop. In those cases the screen matters only half the time.
Good luck to build in a big battery without make the steam deck 5kg. It has to be handy and lightweight, that’s why handhelds has so „limited“ performance.
@@wrightcarl1181 phones arent there to play PC Games in 120 fps. you need more power for that because of more CPU und GPU usage. You wont get 120 fps with 15 watts. Also more watts means better cooling means bigger cooler means more weight. And you will need a bigger battery because the gpu will need a lot more energy. There is a reason why there isn't a handheld with a 4080 in it.
good for me i didnt get the steam deck when it was 1st released...knowing that theres going to be improvements needed...now im happy i have the oled worth the wait...same with the ps portal...gonna wait till they fix the issues...
Since the oled screen itself always causes eye fatigue (for those who are used to it or not), I personally prefer an IPS screen for myself, because I think eye health is more important than screen clarity tho 💁 oh and comfort of use can also extend the use of the device, so a win win solution for me
Hear me out... the only major difference is the screen and the storage space. And honestly, I think the cheapest would be enough for gaming. It's better not to blow your cash for something you already have.
@mbr41 I'm not about to go through the hassle of selling my old one for the oled one, but oled makes a huge difference. Made me want to actually play my switch
@@MrTophatreaper Understandable, its just it'd be a waste if you bought the same thing just for a slight difference though. How I see it is the same, idk about the difference between the oled screen and the normal lcd screen, I only buy it for its use. If it has a cheaper option, buy that one because at the end of the day it fulfills your true intention with the device and at least save money.
I traded my unused series X for the original one, can’t say I’m disappointed or even jealous a new one was released. I traded my series X a few days ago even after knowing the new deck released.
I traded my steamdeck for a rog ally performance upgrade is definitely appreciated and with a 90w battery mod I now can game far longer even longer with an anker 737 powerbank and a pretty good room for games with a 2TB weatern digital ssd
@@New3scT3ch I don’t know at least highlight some of the changes and do some research before putting out the first video that came out. Quality and conciseness are important in a video you know?
You are right @@antoniocastrojimenez8366 , the thing is in short videos, is hard to point out all of it in a "fun" way. But no worries, I'm already preparing my review and I will mention all of those improvements :D
Yah side by side comparison the colors are difference it’s extremely minimal. Either they got a high quality ips in there or a really low quality oled screen
You should’ve done a vertical split for the comparison shot. It was hard to see a difference the way you split it horizontally. I see not difference in brightness
i compared them side by side with a friend. Our Personal opinion: we could barely see the difference in picture quality. The oled screen looks like it is 0,5cm bigger which is nice. Increased battery life is an advantage to oled. It becomes relevant for graphically intense games and it is more convenient than taking an extra battery. If you have the led version and are happy with battery life just keep it. If battery life is annoying you sell the led version and buy oled OR buy an external battery.
My original Steam Deck died. It will not power on and if I try to charge it the screen remains black but it gets horribly hot. I thought it was it failed battery but even a new battery didn't solve the problem. It must be the main board. The OLED really isn't in my budget but I ordered one.
As someone who has seen both, Its literaly the same diffrence than the switch vs switch oled. Good upgrade but not needed at all. The old screen works well in most conditions to begin with, the refresh just makes it even more comfortable!
I bought the orignal one, before 1 year, i didn't know about the oled, hh what now should i throw my steam deck and bought the oled? The problem oled version much expensive
Would love to upgrade from my LCD but really don't feel like starting over and setting it all up again. I spent a long time setting up my LCD model not to mention all the emulator game saves I wouldn't be able to transfer over. Unless there's a way to do it that I don't know about but I haven't been able to find a way to transfer everything from the LCD to the OLED
