In developing our billet rear differential brace for the Explorer, we got another camera in the front of the subframe and we were shocked to see the amount of movement that occurs during launches and even regular driving. We've already proven the effectiveness of subframe bushing supports on the S550 Mustang, so why not bring that knowledge to the Explorer market.

Thanks for the vid and torq specs and how to. I just got the Steeda Diff brace the Steeda Strut Brace the Steeda Intercooler and all going in this weekend with the AFE Cold air. Once this all goes in then I am going to look into your Front and rear sway and lowering springs. I will most likely add these into the basket as well. Thanks for all the nice Upgrades for the ST. You keep making them and I will keep buying them!!! 👍👍 Can not go wrong with the quality of Steeda parts!

I love that you are working on this platform. I'm a bit different than most, and actually want to use my explorer offroad (hunt, fish etc)... Not much available for me there. I'll add these, as it can only help my performace regardless. I just wish there was a good suspension kit for offroad. A raptor explorer would be the perfect vehicle for me. :)

What he didn't say is there are different sub frames and u have to call Ford to get the right subframe of your ST or atleast that's what it says on their webpage

Yeah these bushings always create noise on all Applications. You get a click clack from them. It's a shame they don't mention it...

Curious why didn’t you use the same camera angle for the before and after?

The before footage was filmed months ago in developing the differential brace so the focus was on the differential and not so much the subframe. Turns out the subframe was moving all over the place which led to the development of this part so therefore the after footage focused on the subframe.

@steedaautosports From looking, there is a support kit for police interceptor models and ST models. Is there a kit for all other models? It's still an issue all other models will have.

With the majority of our parts, especially suspension, a lot of the parts are not just for the ST. That being said, turns out the Explorer has a lot of different rear subframes that require you to check your part number to confirm fitment for this specific part. We actually used an XLT and an ST to develop this kit, so we can't say for certain as we haven't had every Explorer out there available to test fit.

@steedaautosports ok, that's understandable. I was curious about it, owning an xlt myself but finding fitment specific to only those two models. I like what y'all have come up with to solve this issue. When I'm ready to buy, i will be making a phone call to try to get what will fit mine. Thank you for responding.

Anybody with a RWD have a thud sound by the rear differential after installing these?

I just got these installed today by my dealer. I also have the thud from slow crawl speeds when accelerating - i have an AWD explorer ST. Not sure what the noise is or where its coming from - but it def sounds like it s coming form the rear subframe or differential.

Can this be installed without a lift?

Yes, you would just raise the rear and have it on jack stands, with the subframe unsupported (or with a jack underneath that allows you to drop one side of the subframe at a time)
