Putting the un-gloved lightning hands on White Storm would actually make her X-Men: TAS accurate. So, that's still a nice option to have. Thanks for the review!
The newly design legs are nice, they actually have some definition and don't look like tubes. I hope we see those legs on all new female figures and rereleases when they are wearing bikini style costumes.
Toying Around, I’m with you on Thunderbird, I really like John Proudstar as a character, but looks like he’s getting snubbed as a toy just like he did in the comics smdh
Thank you for an excellent review! Storm does not wear white glove in the animated series so you could present the classic ( white) costume with the new electric and other hands. I am curious how the skin tones would compare. Cheers !
Great video, thanks! I managed to pick this up at TRU this morning, it was the last one they had. The paint on the lightning hands sucks on mine. I'm usually not too picky but there's a lot of green peeking through. Hopefully I can find another before the return window ends!
In fact, using the lightning hands in the white Storm would make her specifically the 90's animted series version. If you pay attention, Storm's gloves do not cover her hands in this show. So, this would give the white Storm a really nice touch! Regarding Thunderbird, I wouldn't say he actually needed any accessory, I mean... you could easily use another matching skin color male character's fists or any of the Deadpool's or Warpath's knifes.
They should have this Storm figure again also in the retro wave and then threepeat in a special edition two pack with Black Panther T'challa and a thrown that can be assembled.
Liked and subbed and commenting. Personally I dig Thunderbird and have to say it looks done very well. A few What if... stories showed he grew in size in the stories he lived in lol I would have given him an 8 out of 10 considering he is being released with Storm who is absolutely amazing eye candy. Can't wait to get ahold of my own 2 pack. Thanks for your honest point of view buddy. Happy you got yours early. Good on you. Have a great week.
@@ToyingAround I almost got my Giant Sized team complete and will once I get my greasy Canadian maple mitts on em lol and Warpath More First Nations or Native American characters are getting alot of representations now. All DC had was Apache Chief as a CnC lol very happy collector.
@@ToyingAround agreed. they have went Omega Red buck for Tbird and MCU Hulk or Thanos body buck for Warpath. Maybe next year or 2022 they will give proper updates once the movies start getting closer.
I like the Palpatine hands. I'm hoping to entangle some other fruit rollup lightning effects to achieve a crazier overall effect... if that makes sense.
Great review! I watched the unboxing live too. I have little to know faith I’ll get this figure when it hits the states. Target is the worst with this stuff. On a side note, Dwight’s self-imposed catch 22 is stupid. That figure is outdated and doesn’t fit in with a modern display. No one cares if it was your first figure Dwight.
Great review! Storm is magnificent. Thunderbird could have gotten an extra "Angry" head with bared teeth and flowing hair. Also could have gotten plug in translucent animal spirits like a bear, or a hawk, or eagle. The giant hexagon in his back could have been used for something. Thanks for the video!
That Strom is amazing! I feel like Hasbro made it a 2 pack to justify the price and give Storm all the extra parts. I always thought the thing she wore on her head was a tiara.
I was originally upset I did not get in on the pre-order. Now I am glad I didn't, that is not the Thunderbird I expected. I will wait till it is priced right on clearance. $22.99 for a deluxe Storm set that includes a fodder character to be electrocuted.
At first I wasn't all impressed with this Storm figure, but the second head sculpt has sold me on it. I'll try to pick her up at some point (well, not as in ask her out, but yall know what I mean).
Storm looks like a great figure. I’ll be passing because it’s not the costume when I connected with the character. Too bad about the Thunderbird figure. If he’d been good, it might’ve nudged me into getting this pack.
Storm looks great! It would have been nice to have also put Shaman in when you posed/scaled the two brothers just to show off that there are now three Native American characters of Marvel. Moonstone would be a fourth in Legends form.
Sadly, I had to pay almost double the retail price to get this set (in the USA), but this is one of Dave Cockrum's greatest designs -- and i had to have it. The character design is about the only thing that saves Thunderbird. Oh, and I do want a better Banshee -- the last one sucked!
Toying Around oh ya that one and the 90’s Storm are my favorite costumes But the 1st appearance Storm is where I fell in love with from reading the X-Men series
I was so onboard with this until I saw the side by side of Thunderbird and Warpath. Now I'll probably only pick this up if I can get it at like 20% off.
Few things to point out here: The fact that her costume is actually sculpted on is next level for Hasbro marvel legends figures. Usually it's just a naked body with costumes painted to it.. here we can see raised pieces along her abdomen and even on her thighs with the boots. I thought that was very cool and I am not sure if you mentioned it, if you did sorry. Second, I can't wait to rebuy all of my 1.0 marvel legends with 2.0 pinless tech and better plastic -.- fml.
I feel like from a business standpoint Hasbro’s move to include Thunderbird in the pack makes sense he Isn’t well known as opposed to storm And for inventory purposes they wouldn’t be overstocked on thunderbirds
@Toying Around I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada and I finally got the 2 pack of Marvel Legends Storm and Thunderbird from Toys"R"Us Canada, and where are you from?
I am disappointed that Storm wasn’t a single carded exclusive. This is my favorite design of Storm (second being the 90s design). I might have to pick up the black variant of the 90s version instead of this two pack.
I cannot wait for the Storm to hit the US next month and the Thunderbird was such a waste. In my opinion they should’ve paired Pyro with Storm and that would’ve been awesome cuz both Rogue & Thunderbird are basic AF toys.
The fall 'anniversary' lines (Marvel Studios 10th, Marvel 80th, and now 20th of Fox X-Men) are always more expensive than regular releases, that's why the 2 pack costs more than two individual regular releases.
I was gonna say Storm’s legs should become the new default but then I realized the end of the boots is sculpted. That sucks. Also, Thunderbird’s just an articulated accessory.
"POLITE" about Thunderbird...?!! Nah, bro... THAT was NITPICKY AS HELL!! I mean, come on! He's a basic figure, and Storm got all the budget. What the hell do you expect? 😅😅😅 That said... Congrats on getting these guys and aside from bagging so HARD on Thunderbird, pretty good review. COULD Hasbro have put MORE effort into his figure for this 2pk, OVER priced EXCLUSIVE, (AGAIN WITH THE DAMNED EXCLUSIVES HASBLO...?!! 😑), to make him more on par with what an exclusive figure SHOULD BE...?🤔 HELL YES!! Hasbro dropped the ball, picked it back up and then ran to the WRONG end zone with this guy. Thunderbird deserved better... BUT at least we HAVE a Thunderbird. He was a pretty basic character, so no power effects to contend with, BUT they COULD have at least included alternate fists and a set of "DBZ hands" for grappling, tracking, or whatever, since he's super strong and Native American... I may give mine (assuming I can FIND a Thunderbird/Storm 2pk...) an extra bow from an extra Dani Moonstar figure, just so those hands serve a purpose. I may also track down an extra set of fists for him too... I might be able to spare a set of hands from each of my 2 extras, if they'll fit properly. The basic figure, has possibilities for optional add-ons, and is STILL pretty spot ON to the character's comic depiction, so he's worth at least a 7 or 7.5 on accuracy and collection/team completion value alone. I've seen Toy Biz versions of characters that people still swear are awesome, but I'd rate at a 2 or 3 tops compared to the basic bucky/cap mold, so relax a little bit, lol. I mean, just because he doesn't have boobs, an ass or sexy little costume and pretty face, doesn't reduce his value to a 4 or 5, LOL!😅😅😅😅😅
What could have made the thunderbird figure better if he was in the Hercules body from armored Thanos wave and had only fisted hands and not gripping hands
Toying Around I know like what is thunderbird gonna grip if he doesn’t come with anything. The thunderbird figure will be my least favorite as hasbro failed it for me.
They seriously need to step their game up on femal figures. The elbow, the hands, lack of ab crunch. They really havent improved them at all in a very long time
