I was hoping to finally be done with cannon rushes 😂. Props to Percival on the hedgehog drops. I wouldn't miss cloaked units either, but it already looks like vanguard has a tier 3 unit with active camouflage
Awesome game. From my time playing Frigate, most people used Celestials like this every game, but eased off over time. While they have the flexibility to easily proxy, their units aren't strong enough to provide a big power spike at the start of a game, and the inherent weaknesses of not having any base defenses were still there. The faction definitely had some weird balance due to their unique design, but hopefully it hits a nice equilibrium.
Great hold. not sure how I feel about loading sieged up units into transports though. I recall that being patched out in sc2 because it was too strong.
SUPERB match! This totally looks like so many early games against Celestials. I'm so surprised it wasn't a blowout by either side as that's almost always the way it ends.
Even if it turns out to be balanced at pro level, I'm not sure this ability of Celestials to build "in your face" right at the start is healthy for the game. It's going to be an absolute noob killer and completely dominate the lower leagues in which people don't "study" much how to parry cheese. Canon rushes in SC2 have induced many ragequits away from multiplayer and this is that all over again (arguably even worse, as celestials can build their whole base in your face, whereas Protoss can only start the cannon rush with a pylon, a much weaker structure)
Yeh very much agree, I think there are cheeses and then there is in your face annoying cheeses that are crazy suffocating lol. Maybe they'll find a way to reduce the suffocation
That was weak af.... Like the dude literally only built teir 1 units and then lost.... full map control for over 10 minutes tons of money and yet only the most basic unit you can build.
First Video I've seen from you, great casting! Insta subscribed and hoping to see a lot more Stormgate on your channel in the future, especially when early access opens their gates for everyone.

I'm an established aoe4 caster and content creator but made this channel for stormgate and am really unsure how the crowd would find my casting with stormgate. Yeh don't blame ya the game was really in a bad state on release, it's a gazillion times better now though thankfully! Sad because I imagine they burned a lot of bridges with a poor launch
12:15 how did my ass burn when the player went to defend the base for the armada, I had to go in exchange and demolish the enemy's base because that army was divided, and you have towers just in case
