repetition, consistency, and I can't stress this enough - write EVERYTHING down! get yourself a notebook, or better yet, lots of notebooks to separate categories of information. I have like 5+ notebooks. You simply never know when a random tidbit or piece of information is going to be needed in the future, and if you've been writing things down, than you may already have the info you need in one of your handy notebooks. There's no easy-button, but you can do it!
@@yummyfunnybunny5167 thank you for you advice. I recently started doing flash cards. I have been trying to make games for a long time now. I can make some stuff with tutorials but I haven't been able to move forward much without additional help. I am actually currently reading the manual of gms2.3 lol! Wish me luck, I know I will eventually get there.
@@indiepunch3443 I remember when I started out, it took me a long time to get over the crutch of needing tutorials. At some point, however, it was literally like a light went on in my head and everything just sort of came together to a point where I could suddenly code without the tutorials. Obviously I was limited in my capabilities, but it was a huge milestone. I'm sure you'll hit your eureka moment at some point. The learning never stops 🙂 good luck !!
@@yummyfunnybunny5167 Damn, you are really at this! Great energy! I've heard some additional theories that humans have been writing for long enough that a special connection between writing and memory occurs. Who knows though... Maybe in a few years we will have evolved to have the same connection with a keyboard, if that's a thing, although I doubt it, since I speculate that there is more typing happening on smartphones these days than with keyboards.
