Its already far far too late. We eat drink and breathe micropalstics. When you drive your car, tires wear on the road and release micro and nanoplastics into the environment, credit card swiping, etc, not just water bottles and other plastic containers. I believe on avg half pound of plastic is in your body every year. We need would need nano tech to remove these debris but thats far from practical technology to work on considering the sheer amount of it in the environment. We need to stop using plastic. Thats it. Replace packaging materials etc. With biodegradeable materials that last very long amd have little to pretty much no toxic chemicals at all. Thats what we need to work towards. Along side climate change, these arw the important pressing issues we as humanity need to face as one, but wed much rather fight over land, religion, and race/culture. We dont learn to work on these worldwide important issues until its too late. Every time.

When I see stuff like this nowadays I automatically think- who wants us to stop drinking bottled water and why. The canned water companies maybe? Or has my trust in the media been destroyed that much to where even when they are honest I don't believe them.

The thing that causes hormone effects, they're called xenohormones, and I have breast cancer, which got me to read up on this stuff. These may contribute to HR+ cancers like my cancer. I'm ER+ (estrogen receptor positive), so hard plastics may not be the best eating/drinking tools for me since a lot of my treatment involves starving my body of estrogen. My dietician said to never heat food in plastic even if it says "microwave safe" or "oven safe" because tiny bits of that plastic leeches into the food while it heats.

I drink 6 bottles of water every single day. Who do i sue? What brands are affected? I need better investigative journalism here.

How come every soft-drink imaginable (including sparkling water) is commonly packaged in 12-oz aluminum cans, but still-water is almost impossible to find in aluminum cans?

Microplastics and nanoplastics are unavoidable these days theyre in everything from fruit and veggies to water to meat. You even breath them in in the form of microscopic oarticles created by car tires hitting pavement

I’ve noticed people are getting nanoplastics confused with microplastics. Nanoplastic particles are MUCH smaller than microplastics.

Yeah, factories with underpaid workers bottling drinks in plastic bottles are amazing at keeping up standards and cleanliness...

This is so troubling to hear. My blue sanctuary city is struggling with clean water issues too after they found high levels of fecal matter in the water supply due to our expanding outdoor tent community.

If one is going to buy/consume water from a plastic bottle, then, at minimum, make sure the bottle is BPA-free.

This “new” study repeats findings from several other studies these news channels seem to have forgotten they have covered several times in the past.

Plastic bottles should have been outlawed 50 years ago because of their effect on the environment. But making $ has always been the priority. Nothing changes.

Last year, researchers even found it in the Sierra snow. Probably a thousand times higher in manmade snow.

Plastic is EVERYWWHERE and you can't avoid it. That tooth brush you use is plastic. Condiments ketchup, mustards etc. All Juice container's. The inside of my dishwasher is plastic. Ziploc bags for sandwiches. Filters in all your faucets are plastic. Milk jug containers. When you vacuum your carpet. PET (polyethylene terephthalate) contain content made of recycled plastics such as water bottles.

They knew it but didn't say nothing this isn't first time this subject came over last couple decades to the 80's! Now they act like it's surprising new finding.

Drink water in a glass container. The ancients drank water from a copper, silver, or gold vessel and would always bless their water and food before consuming them. Water has memory and should be treated with respect. Society today has moved away from being connected with God and what God has provided us with. We must reconnect with nature if we want to become healthy again and for the Earth too!

I’ve been drinking Dr Pepper in plastic bottles my whole life. And plastic pipe runs from my well to the rubber bladder inside the water tank in my basement. Too late to start worrying about plastic particles now.

She completely dodged the question of if plastic bottles are safe. They also aren’t drawing a clear connection between drinking from plastic bottles and negative health effects, just that it might be bad. Seems like premature reporting to me. If you’re really worried, buy bigger bottles because the ratio of plastic to water is less.

I feel this is being said because of the problems America is having with Americans deposing of plastic bottles, and how this is polluting our oceans causing global pollution and killing marine life. We should create jobs to monitor pollution more closely. I’ve seen how uncaring and unconcerned Americans are about their recycling, by throwing trash out their car window, and leaving trash for others to clean up.

I have always said drinks in glass bottles taste 100% better. It’s hard to find ones in glass bottles though
