I was obsessed with bears as a kid. My parents took me to a drive-through park that was full of bears where I grew up in South Dakota. A grizzly bear laid on top of dad's car and roared into the windshield, scaring the shit out of everyone. I didn't really like bears anymore after that.

I'm happy with that last comment about zoos. "zoos are cool". People still act like zoos nowadays are how they were in the 20's or some shit, or the circus, abusing animals and bullshit when that's not at all how that is now. Zoos are fantastic places to teach and rehabilitate animals for release.
LOTS of them do not have the correct shelter or enough employees to take care of them enough. Even my zoo in my town I noticed that lots of the water was not clean for the animal’s. And especially the temperature of the environment for lots of animals isn’t that good either.

I got attacked by a Wombat (and yes I know how stupid that sounds) when I camped near Port Welshpool and bitten by a Possum because it wanted my Fries in some Park in Melbourne when I was Down Under for a month, so I completely agree with you that the wildlife there is ridiculously angry and capable. I still think that his comparison is weird tho, mainly because of one thing. Imagine a Raptor jumping around like a Kangaroo. At least that's the image that popped into my head when he said it.

Keep in mind that, if you were to hug a sloth in the wild, you'd be overwhelmed with all the moths, insects, moss, fungi that live in the sloth's fur. They're so slow moving that they become literal non-harmful ecosystems for tiny organisms. So, if a person hates any of the above, they might hate a sloth as a result.
This segment makes me want to bring up something kind of funny, there's a superhero co-op card game with an immortal Māori warrior called Haka, that does haka and one of his enemies is The Hippo.

My favorite animals are Cassowaries, they're giant six foot tall birds that are vegetarians but they're super aggressive. I used to work for my local zoo in their summer camp and there was always a small pile of random shit that kids threw in the enclosure during the day that would only get cleaned after she fell asleep and her cage was locked up because cassowaries just disembowel humans for funsies.
I don't think an animal gives someone a disease and the disease kills i don't think the animal should get credit for the kill, Mosquito's kills are invalid
CyberShinobiX that's bullshit. I just like saying if someone uses a gun to kill someone then kill should go to the gun. Komodo dragons are fucking beast and they know what they're doing. That's like saying if someone poisoned someone the kill should go to the poison, not the animal. Thus eliminating venomous snakes and scorpions.
the Komodo dragon is an exception to the rule given that their method is an adaptation and if the animal naturally produces the poison or venom it also counts but seeing as Mosquito's simply act as carriers of diseases and the disease is neither naturally produced by them nor an adaptation they do not deserve credit for it
Hippos are not hyper killers, they are just really territorial. If you don't go into their territory they will leave you alone. You can stand right next to a hippo pond and they wont even look at you. But if you touch that fucking pond, prepare to die. There's a reason why the majority of their victims are fishermen.
My family has always had a special nest and little hippo toy as a House Hippo. We brought it with us to the US and both my sister and I have our own House Hippo nests in our homes to this day.
Side note there's a manga about animals in a zoo becoming active killing machines and while I don't remember seeing hippos I can only imagine they're just walking nukes.
Prey animals are more aggressive than predators animals because they assume you're trying to eat them. Deer attacks are way more vicious than bear attacks. The bear might not be hungry or maybe just wants to scare you off, but deer, mouse, bison, and hippos assume it's to the death.

Nature will buff hippos just cause fuck it. Give it a 2 frame light attack, a 7 frame command grab that has three hits of armor and can be roll cancelled into, and a Dodge roll with increased and lingering I-frames. Linger lasts for 2 frames so roll catching is impossible unless you have hax.
I assume that deer are on the list not because they DIRECTLY kill humans a lot, although they're certainly capable. Most likely, they kill more people via car crashes.
