I think the Mega Mushroom storage is an ironic result of something to stop glitches. If you get a Mega Mushroom from a Toad house, using it in too small a space will cause it to go back into your inventory, but doing that in just the right way seems to make the game think you were using the one you found from your inventory.
The Mega Mushroom bouncing back and forth is actually not a glitch. It's programmed to move in the opposite direction of the player when it's on the ground. If it is between Mario and an obstacle, it will act like it's colliding with two blockades in each direction, as it is trying to move away from the player while being unable to proceed any farther, which results in the bouncing back and forth behavior.
@@CoolModderJaydonX Invincible doesn't imply that he can't attack Mario either, though, so itd make less sense to use that. If you just tell someone, without context, that the koopa becomes invincible, they would think that you can't hurt the koopa - but it can hurt you. /rp
Hey guys, Andy here with a brand new Son of a Glitch episode, on one will be out this time next week too. Hope you enjoy it. As always, thank you for the support, you guys are always amazing. Andy (A+Start)
I found a small glitch which I call the body-less dry bone glitch: here's how you do it, go to any level with a dry bones (like 1-mid castle) with a blue shell. When you see the dry bones stomp on its head. Once you do this slide with blue shell onto its body. If you do it correctly the body will be gone and the head will stay on the level for a few seconds then it will disappear. Its super easy to do.
5:36 I got that glitch by total accident once. I was super mad, Especially since the blue shell is the best power up to use in the water levels (you swim faster)
When this game came out I played it non stop, I've actually done quite a bunch of these glitches before, beaten the game about 5 times and 100 percent completed it This game brings me such great memories
This game was my childhood man. I played this game like practically everyday when I first got my ds for christmas then some "friend" of mine stole this game from behind my back....
Donut GFX Tried it. If theres enough room in the stage then you will just be swimming as Mega Mario. If not, then the power up will fail and just go back in the inventory slot.
I know another glitch. A long time ago, I got Bowser Jr. to jump into the water in the World 3 tower. When this happens, he doesn't come back up, so you're just stuck on the platform with no way of completing the level.
Not a glitch, but I thought I'd share something interesting: Remember the opening cutscene where Peach's Castle gets struck by lighting and then loads of people run outside? It turns out that the people running out of the castle are actually multiple copies of Toadsworth moving around with no animations.
Intresting, what's strange is that the Mario Book Enciclopedia 2017, incorrectly says that those peoples in the background are normal Toads, instead of Toadsworths. These details are hard to see, due of low resolution of the DS screen.
@Kanashimi Super Mario has a very different hitbox from small Mario for the mechanics of "crush damage". In NSMB'DS Mario can either die outright or just lose a power because sometimes, small Mario can get out of the crush attempt that Super Mario would otherwise die to. The reason why this matters is that the game doesn't want to cause cheap damage to the player for getting a powerup. The Mega Mushroom also has a growth cutscene because it checks if the area has enough space for Mega Mario but if small Mario grabs the Mega Mushroom the game treats him as small Mario until Mario grows bigger than Super Mario and small Mario can't break brick blocks so the game thinks that the open space can't support Mega Mario and reverts Mario to how he was before he got the Mega Mushroom to not punish the player.
When it comes to the mega mushroom at 7:20 it's because it's actually *trying* to get away from you. It's not a simple one direction mushroom, it actively tries to gtfo. Luckily it's not fast enough.
LOL, I already know there's an challenge mode since 2010 or something... I can't remember what year I took to figure out the input combination to unlock the secret mode.
I remember watching these videos about 6 years ago, in middle school. They helped relieve the boredom, and the troubles of my house issues. I never even owned most of the games he covered. I hope he comes back soon. Thank you for all the childhood memories.
2 months late to the comment, but thanks for this bit of info! i believe an ice level from the mario vs. luigi mode also uses this mechanic, there’s two lines of blocks placed a block’s width above and below each other, the bottom line is ice so when you run and crouch at just the right speed, you get stuck - so it uses the mechanic to push you all the way through the two lines my brother and i used to always mess with it, we always thought it was a glitch
This was some good nostalgia! I remember that this was the first game I tried to glitch when I was younger! The Mega mushroom one I figured out on my own but almost all the other ones you showed I found from glitch forums. This was a great episode!
Fazed_Mario_ 94 I got this game in Christmas 2008 and it was the first DS game that I loved. I got Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team but I hated it
My first game was _Shrek 2_ for the GameCube (I'm not kidding; this was back in 2004, *way* before Shrek became an ironic meme), but NSMB DS was my first _Mario_ game and the game that got me into Nintendo.
