Agreed. The refined k12 petrol engine of the older swift was the exact point that differentiated from other 1.2 motors in the segment. Hyundai was close, but Honda didn't have as much midrange grunt, Tata's is underpowered, and VW group outright phased it out.
Suzuki has/had always had some magic tune for refinement in their engine. Remember Suzuki's diesel were same fiat sourced engine found in many other manufacturer yet they were.significantly more refined tham others. Lets hope if they can bring that magic on 3 cylinders as well(which is never gonna be on level of 4 cyclinder, but maybe they can come close). Toyota did make really good 3 cylinder of GR Yaris, i can hope their Japanese brother can do the same, add some torque from Hydrid tech and this can be fun and efficient. Lets see, how it pans out though.
@@vishnupillai300 If Suzuki skimps on refinement to save weight (which is becoming their mantra to save fuel), then they would lose a lot. I hope that Suzuki remembers that.
The Z series 1.2 litre engine in question has a very big shoes to fill. The K series K12 engine which debuted on Ritz and still continues to power the other models is a gem of an engine.
Swift sold outside India especially made in Japan swift has 5 stars in their crash tests but that swift cost 10-15 lakhs , does people in India will buy swift for that price? If not then don't expect safety
Hello, a very serious question. I'm looking to buy a 2nd hand petrol swift of 2010-12 model year in goa. Looking at current motor laws in India, is it a good decision to buy it? Especially concerned about the RC renewal after the 1st 15 years.
Maruti Suzuki's 1.2L 4 Cylinder engine was a differentiator to TATA Motor's 3 Cylinder Engine. If they go ahead with this then what is the differentiator ?
Yeah the same 4 cylinder engine that you suzuki fans had fake pride on🤷 overrated engine which had to pull 250 kgs less to give fuel economy and performance, while tata's 3 cylinder pulled more weight yet gave good fuel economy and decent performance especially since RDE 2 norms update it can extremely refined and performance was improved as well, yet suzuki fans used to troll it, good to see karma hitting you people 🌝
Big concerns-- 1. How safe is it? 2. Is the 3 cylinder as refined as the outgoing 4 cylinder? 3. What structural changes are made to make it safer than the outgoing model (it'd better be safer) 4. Why such tacky and flimsy interior (the current model interior feels remarkably cheap) 5. Assuming it would be expensive than the outgoing model, how do I justify the price? 6. What is the USP of this model? Is it the 3 cylinder engine, or the undisclosed safety rating, or the price, or rather the cartoony looks......?????? The competition has moved on ever since, and the cheap trick of making the car light to bump the mileage is not gonna work. Let's see what this car brings to the table.
This is a Japanese model and sold for Japanese market only. Indian model will be different from this Japanese model. In india it will get new grill, new bumper and slightly changes in interior with a rear ac vent compared to this Japanese model. And this new engine won't come to India soon at least 3 to 4 years. It will come when new emission norms will take place(BS 8 or 9).then talking about safety it's a completely new generation so safety will be better than current model as it's body structure has changed. So it'll get a good score in crash test likely get 4 star and in top variant it'll get 5 star as it comes with 6 airbags.
3 cylinder should be for full hybrid. These days, Vitara full hybrid and fronx booster jet has only 3 cylinder. Currently they provide 4 cylinder only for base variant. May be they will do the same for Swift when they launch in India.
No car can match its sexy looks as always , it’s beautiful from outside but Suzuki should emphasise on its inner space and interior quality. India 🇮🇳 is not a market where people like cheap products anymore. Suzuki has given this dashboard in baleno , fronx , grant Vitara and now same in this Swift with cheap plastics .
Lots of fellow enthusiasts are upset about the 3 cylinder. But y⁉️😅 The reporter also said hybrid. Which means four. 3 ICE cylinders + an electric motor ‼️This is good news‼️😍
I think they should stick to the smoother 4-cylinder K12 engine. Other than that the design harks back to the 1st generation Swift which is great. Also I hope they sharpen up the handling and the go-cart like feedback from the first-gen machine.
The color is literally the most beautiful thing about this car. It's almost two-tone, with the illuminated things looking blue, and the angular / shadowed parts looking violet. Gorgeous. But will India's model truly be safe? The old swift scored 2/5 on the crash test, with it's tin can build.
Looks similar and tastefully updated the design though. The interior looks interesting as well. I feel the rear look(tail lamp and tailgate) looks similar to first gen Swift. I hope the new 1.2 ltr 3 cylinder engine is sporty and not tuned for fuel economy. Although it doesnt look like the E parking brake will make it to India spec model due to cost concerns
Bharat NCAP safety rating should be 5 stars. That means this car is allowed in India if all 7 colours of a rainbow are available in the the paint option and money is taken to buy the car. So, only if a prospective buyers wants to buy the car,he or she should pay m.r.p. maximum retail price of car,i.e. only top model is allowed and no base model. Base model buyer can buy a tvs bike or tvs scooty.
How about Maruti keeping the three cylinder engine for the base variant and retaining the K12 for middle range and offering the 1.4 Turbo or even the 1.0 Turbo for the top spec. This new engine has to be nearly as good as the VW's TSI for it to be accepted, otherwise it would suffer from the same reputation as Tata's Revotron.
Head lamp tail lamp. Car colour and car design sleek and beautiful...... car looks way too delicate. And Maruti Suzuki is well known for its delicate approach over the built quality.
Swift plz increase the safety and build quality atleast like brezza!!.. I Wil wait for it!!! as m thinking to buy a car this Diwali!!... plz confirm about ur safety ?
This design is very good but one thing the rear side design is not good it's look like old swift and that side design is changed but not the future design So,my opinion back side design will change try to other concept Thank you for uploaded the video of upcoming swift❤❤
Looks: 8.5/10 Interiors: 6/10 features: 8/10 Mileage: 9/10 Seats: 7/10 Interior Fit and Finish: 3/10 Panel Gap on the Bonet side doesn't look good. Overall the car is okayish.... If it is around 9-10 lakhs(Top variant), then I can say the car is worth buying. otherwise not at all.
