Kurikara has been so good for me in testing. Really like the Lancea+kurikara combo instead of nib and eclipse. Big fan of cards that always do their job.
@@adrianmoral8634 been great against kash regardless of what board they make, but also outs things like dragoon and baronne if you can force them with an eclipse or something first. also lets you steal a monster you kill in the end phase so you can just take them for yourself if you cant get lethal that turn. havent tested this enough yet but ive been thinking about options against traptrix going second and this feels pretty nice to have in that matchup too since their stuff all stay on the board and usually have destruction protection, and pairs well with evenly. I was trying lava golems in different decks a lot but the normal summon restriction always seems to come up at the worst times for me, so this has been a very nice replacement. lancea is always good to have against evenly even if its less effective in other matchups.
@jack I really like it too. I’m playing Kurikara in decks with heavy fairy counts like generaider (slipped in an orange light bc loptr, Vara, several other fairies. Kurikara is pure insanity, thoroughly agree. 👍🦉💎
It honestly comes up in most of my matchups outside of kash. Greedy players never expect it and they don’t even care to read what she does in end phase… smh
I have been waiting for a video like this. I really enjoyed the deck pre Ishizu Tear and stopped playing for a bit. Branded and Kash just feel so mid. Thanks for the inspiration.
If your branded opponent goes for the puppet lock just banish the Albion with your bystial. One big adventage of the puppet play in comparison to the deciple play is that it needs just 3 summons. They usually end with just an used mirrorjade on the Board to stop any bystial interrupts. If you banish the Albion you only lose against hard draw trap. If you want a even more consistent Option for this Matchup just side belle going scnd against branded on top of ash to negate the trap. If the branded Player try to end on an additional fusion monster to negate a belle or bystial with the bord they need to play into nibiru.

@@DKODA97 lava Golem or kurikara alone wont do cause they most likely have the revive spell. So you only have a Chance game 2 and only if you draw both. You also have to invest 3 off your 6 cards just to out the nat beast.
Wouldn't Fusion Substitute be better in the Metalfoes Fusion slot? I think 1) Recycling Hugin 2) Not shuffling the deck as to not redraw Runick spells that you bottom 3) Not putting itself in the deck like MF Fusion so as not to draw it again and 4) Not being a hard once per turn like MF Fusion would heavily weigh in favor of Fusion Substitute.
I've been a Double Cross truther since it released. Even last format you could use it to give yourself a third Toad negate, yoink an important monster, interrupt a Tear fusion, etc. Even used it to steal a Pankratops out of my opponent's grave last night lol. Was pretty much always my Jet search going first.

On another topic: I don't know if you're going to read this and sorry in advance if its a noob question but what are the benefits behind running Donner instead of Knightmare Cerb?. The ones I see are that Donner doesn't need to discard and also that It can just pop any monster unlike Cerb which can only pop special summoned ones in the main monster zone, but Donner having to pop himself isn't kind of a really big drawback?
@@JoshuaSchmidtYGO Oh yeah!, I forgot that all the Runick cards can only special in the EMZ!, so now it makes a ton of sense that sometimes you would want to clear it, while also destroying something along the way. Thanks for the explanation!.
i tried my list and managed to get to 3rd place lost only to kashtira but the huge diff here is was playing 40cards with 3evenly on main and 1 Scissor ( the lvl 2 monster ) but gonna check on ur list Josh and maybe play 43 with some diffrences or 42 cuz evenly in the main deck was so good for me that i dont wanna change it
hey josh you mention siding your non engine instead of maining it, but since the runick engine is so big, what are your usual siding patterns for the deck? Also are you not scared of decks like labrynth that have virus + dbarrier to stop your plays?
Going 2nd I think its ok to side out some amount of engine because you draw 6 cards instead of 5, so going lower on Runicks and Sprights by 1-2 each is fine
Tried the deck today on locals. No kashtiras yet, but deck functioned quite well. Really needed second Geri at one point and I think someone can cut Metalfoes to 1. Edit: forgot to mention score, 4-1 with 3/5 lost die rolls and only loss was against expulsion branded

For Those Who like Spright but aren't a fan of the runick engine or just want a more budget option, Live Twin spright has legs, a number of really powerful boards it can end on to play around hand traps, and ways to both play into and around nibiru. Have fun 😊
Joshua could you please tell us how to beat Branded Despia? It is absolutely amazing this format with the new stuff and tear gone. They dont do only mirrorjade pass! They do the lock you mentioned. They do Dragoons. They have infinite resources in grave and hand to remake their field and if you cant otk (that you cannot with some decks like traptrix) you are in trouble. For real. Please help! I think this video will help your community as well dealing with the best or the 2nd best deck this format
i've tried this deck a lot , it feels way worse than the naturia version for me . Can't wait to see you playing some games because i want to understand if i did something wrong while using this list
Would you consider a foolish burial goods to pair with the metalfoes fusions? Worst comes to worst, it’s essentially another quick play runick spell to fuel the field spell. 🤷♂️
What u think about to lose the battle, i try pretty hard to use spright Runick, but i see like a big issue to fight against the time instead playing again the opponent.
Is Sprind + Merrli package too weak or worth trying? You make IP and on the opponent's turn you use IP to make Sprind, send Merrli. Activate Merrli, use Hugin + Merrli to make Dragostapelia.
I think its „okay“, most of the lines with Merrli play into Nibiru because you have to do it before Gigantic, going into it via IP doesnt seem worth it compared to Unicorn or Link 4‘s
So many of these cards are 2 only limit on master duel Dx trying so hard to make the best spright runic deck lol can’t really find a proper deck profile anywhere
I do think both spright and runick are not seeing the representation in this format they deserve. Not just in spright runick but in other hybrids running spright or runick as well.
Joshua Schmidt I got a Runick hybrid I am playing that sounds absolutely ridiculous but it works surprisingly well. As long as you can pilot both runick and crystal beasts I mean. Its called crystal runick. It’s actually amazing what runick does for archetypes that can fully utilise it and the right pilot playing them.
I havent really been making Sprind in testing, you dont really have an easy way to trigger the bounce effect either since your best interactive XYZ needs both materials
Ive been playing a lot of runick decks on db but it feels really ass into the sheer number of board breakers people are playing, whilst not actually being that strong going 2nd. Into kash you really need a large number of board breakers, especially with them playing lance.
Not in runick sprite as most of the time you don't get a battle phase outside of specifically turn 2. Other variants should be fine if your opponent doesn't end on trap negates
What do you think of Silvervine Senri? I think it's a great normal summon for spright. It's amazing in the grind game to fetch you a blue from grave. Can also get you a red or carrot back from the grave that you used as material and give you another summon from your hand
its an interesting idea, but the fact that it doesnt really work on turn 1 is a bit weird, but maybe you can do something with it in a version that has more room than Runick
@@JoshuaSchmidtYGO i found it works better in when you have more normal summons in your hand that you can use when you draw too many aka the nimble package.
