I want this book so much. I have a bunch of the original comics but because I was raised in a very religious household my sister would cross out where anyone said Oh my God or damn. She also drew bras on the topless models in a Donna Troy photo shoot. She was 11 and I was 8 at the time.
This is when the ntt were dc's answer to marvel x-men. It was one of those titles that people scrambled for and the story and art worked well. I do hope we will see a reissue of vol 2 & 3. George Preze is sadly represented and even after his passing, neither company are really releasing on of his work.
As a huge fan of the Titans (I bought and devoured the original floppies back in the '80s) THIS was the omnibus I wanted but couldn't find anywhere until this new printing, which I snapped up on release day! Glad to see they updated George Perez' bio like they did for the Wonder Woman omni reprint. Great overview as always, Omar!
Looking forward to when they hopefully reprint volumes 2 and 3. I got into my omni collecting too late and missed out on the volumes. I really would love to be able to have them in the collection. Nightwing/Dick Grayson is one of my all time favorite characters and I just want to get every great story I can collected with the character.
I got the original printing back in 2010 or thereabouts and I have to say I prefer the white cover to the blue cover. I also got Omni's 2 and 3 so I'm hoping that they reprint Omni 4 because I think that had a low print run or something, it was impossible to find at a good price. Issues 1 to 45 or so of NTT and issues 1-6 of New Titans are some of the best superhero comics printed bar none, I did a reread of Omni's 1 to 3 earlier this year and they were fantastic.
I know you have said that your DC continuity is mainly Post-Crisis on Infinite Earths and that Teen Titans is kind of a rare exception, starting with this volume. I know you mentioned the Silver Age Teen Titans wasn't really your thing... Do you have any thoughts on the Bronze Age Teen Titans (omnibus), since it *appears* to lead directly into this run? Thanks.
I originally read these stories all the way back in the ‘80s, though I did not begin my regular purchase of the book until the Omega Men storyline. Being primarily a DC guy, I consider this run up to the Judas Contract as possibly the best comic run of all time. IMHO, one of the greatest single-issue comics ever was the “Who is Donna Troy” story in issue 38(?). I will not be picking this up as I have the Archive additions and cannot justify double-dipping. I do, however have Omnibus Volumes 4 & 5. We need volume 6.
13:30. I wouldn't blame her, many people would have the same reaction. You have to see it from the other point of view. Sometimes you just need to rip off the band-aid quickly.
I so nearly brought this one but got the WW omni instead. Still if I see it for a decent price I'll probably pick it up. Fantastic comparison and review as usual Omar.😁
So George Perez main work is: New Teen Titans (Omnibus 1 to 4) Crisis on Infinite Earths (1 to 12) Wonder Woman (Omnibus 1 to 3) Avengers (Busiek run with Omnibus 1 and future 2) Am I missing other?? I know he did a TON of other comics, but they are just a few random issues, is there any other long run or important mini series?
Alright so... I have volume 1 paperback of the new teen titans, idk what year this was printed, basically I want to get the rest of these until I've gotten the whole 1st volume omnibus, then I just buy volume 2 and 3 and so on of the omnibus, I'm having trouble figuring out what I jeed to buy up to XD
I have read the Judas contract which was great of course. But how does the rest of the teen Titans run compared to that story? In other words, is the rest of the run nearly as good as Judas contract or is Judas Contract far and above superior to every other teen Titans story?
Considering that the omnibuses are out of print, they might be expensive to get your hands on and if you don't like Teen Titans for whatever reason, you might regret the purchase. Buy a month of the D/C online comic service or get a couple of second hand comics from a local business and see if you like it first. I got it as a gift from my husband and I enjoy it personally.
Hey, Omar. Thank you for your good reviews! Do you think DC will continue to publish the New Teen Titans TPBs after the number 14? Saudações do Brasil!
Obviously, I'm not Omar, but I'm sure the answer is yes, there's not really any backstory you need to jump right into this. Just accept that some of these characters are already established and dive in.
