I love how everybody says DC continuity was a mess before Crisis on Infinite Earths, but it's been far more confusing since DC started doing all these different crises. And I've been reading DC for 50 years.
@@TBATB yeah me too but considering how many events marvel does and how bad/underwhelming they’ve been, I would say DC has done a better job. Then again events don’t mean as much when you literally do them almost once a month
Well, there have been some great Marvel events, such as Infinity Gauntlet, House of M, and 2015 Secret Wars. But yeah, DC does tend to make the better events (usually, looking at you Final Crisis and Zero Hour).
@The Brave and the Boys you're doing an amazing job! I feel the best videos come from the heart and just embracing the fun of sharing! Out if curiosity, do you consider "Doomsday Clock" a Crisis story, as it does re-establish continuity? We had "Doomsday Clock", "Dark Nights: Death Metal", and "Dark Crisis" all re-establish the multiverse within such a short amount of time. It's like they wanted us to know they love the multiverse concept, too. Lol
I just wish that they included "World War III" in any of the printings! Especially since they increased the cost to $150 for the latest printing! I get that inflation is a thing, but it would have been appreciated since it is an event within the event.
I had the fat trades and was happy with it but I upgraded to the omnibus since it was like the 2nd book I ever read and did a give away for them. Including WW111 would have made to much sense
@The Brave and the Boys ah, so you see the "logic" of DC, too! Lol "It affects the events of the event? Leave it out!" I'm hoping we see growth and change. They did after all reprint some of the collected editions that sold out due to James Gunn's announcements and rather quickly. Maybe it will help them realize that there are collected editions that sell and that people want more!
@@DBZALLSTAR isn’t it included in the omnibus? I rember reading it and seeing the effects of that, then I went to read WW3 and it was all things just retold with clunky writing and art, I never understand what people mean when they say it NEEDED, because everything that happens in WW3 is told better in 52...
Great video bro ! Seems like you had fun making this yo ! I’m glad you even included titles that act like a crisis. Flashpoint & Infinite Crisis are my favorites ever.
I only own the HC of Metal, Laughs and Death Metal, I haven't read them yet but I get the feeling that I should sell those and get the omnis instead ^^'
Great choices here. The only one I don't own and have never read is Injustice. Always been on the fence about it but I'm leaning toward getting it now. Damn you.
I didn’t even add it in to the video but injustice just became crazy relevant with what’s going on with John Kent in the comics rn!!!! But injustice is amazing! Buy both hahaha! Plus you can save $2 on Organic price books with my code Braveboys!! Jkjkjk but for real it’s amazing
My favorite Crisis is Final Crisis. Its incredibly high stakes, surprising in its shift in tones and how it handles the characters. Just absolutely epic. However, as an editorial event, its poorly planned out. Most tie ins and series, aside from being quite mediocre do not add much to the main event. An Absolute or Hardcover with the Morrison penned issues is more than enougth. My favorite Crisis Omnibus is Infinite Crisis. Editorially speaking, its brillantly mapped out and planned, with tie ins and minis leading into each other in almost perfect fashion. Just brillantly planned event. You could see that every creator involved was on the same page, and the result was stunning. So, favorite Crisis - Final Crisis Favorite Crisis event and omni - Infinite Crisis.
is reading Crisis on infnite earths and inifiite crisis omnibus enough to read /understand FINAL crisis? asking because i dont want to read all those long arcs
@@TBATB I think this book suffered from higher up meddling 100%. The ending feels so odd and makes me think it was not even close to what was intended originally
@@yaddasmelkins when you hear Tom King talk about with a Book originally was going to be versus what it became. It’s really really really sad and disappointing.
@@TBATB I'll have to look up his original plan. I just know it got changed, but not to what extent. Same with his Batman run that was supposed to be 100 issues
Pssh, says it's every DC Crisis but doesn't even talk about Crisis on Multiple Earths, Identity Crisis, Crisis of Conscience, Heroes of Crisis, etc. Where's my 2 and a half long video of every comic with the word Crisis?!
