High amps is the opposite of what you want, depending on how the speed for amps compares with other motors of course, so in my opinion so far it’s not looking the best and having to heat it to change the bearings especially running in salt water like I do, I won’t be rushing to spend all that money on the Tenshock evo So glad you do these tests. It sure helps us spend money wisely. The HET was a super fast motor but it had the epoxied end bells as well such a pain. You GPS and the speed run spot might tell the speed for amps story better.
Gotta remember I was pushing it with prop selection and battery weight for this test. Boat also needs a better tune. Turn fin was pulling the right sponson down in a straight so I'm sure that added to the amp pull. As you mentioned, that's why I do my test for everyone to make their own minds up. BG4L
Great video big b. So basically on any motor, going up and down with the throttle is going to generate more heat than if you can run wide open. That's good info for tuning and being a better driver. Thanks big b . Bg4l
I bought a miss budweiser 1/12 nitro I sorted the motor got it running my problem is finding a servo that fits to replace the throttle servo nothing quite fits so the wood can screw down
From my understanding a brushless motor tries to pull whatever you throw at it. I think pushing this (heavy) boat and big props is quite impressive for a motor half the size from that tp... Lets see how it holds up in future and maybe in some off the other boats...
Great job as usual, Love the jam foam, where do you get that stuff. Ran my UL the other day second time out, (81 MPH no flips, used all your settings), next run flipped it, split it apart. I am so impressed with your carbon fiber inlay, much needed, don’t know how you got down into the sponson’s, NICE WORK THANKS
I currently run an outboard tunnel in 4s with an Neu 1515 1y 2200kv and also a neu1512 1y 2650kv depending on the day. I am able to run this boat at full throttle for the whole race lenght pulling 220amp in the turns and 165amps in the strights. Im looking to get one of these motors for testing but every time i have gone away from the neu i end up with motors that are paper weights. Really need to see one of these motors pushed to full race distance at full throttle and with constant amps to tell how good they are.
question about flex shafts. Is there a brand or place to get good ones from? I have had two from aliexpress twist off and break at about the same spot on my hydroplane (about two inches from the prop). I left about a quarter inch spacing infront of the drive dog. any suggestions would be appreciated.
