I have intermittently watched your channel for a long time, Seems as though we have our dogs chasing the same type of rabbit, We ceased row crops 6 years ago, when we were talked into taking over the leas on 90 acres of established Hay land, After the first year, we discovered where the Real Money was..... We are located in (Horse Country) To make a long story, short, one thing lead to another and now we currently operate a rebaler/Bale Baron to furnish small squares by the 53ft trailer-loads to 6 TSC stores and individgual, We offer Singles,. 21-bale bundles and 4x5 rounds to livestock owners...... My Son has a belief that every time you manually handle a bale you lose money!!! Good Fortune to you in the Future!

Hey there, thanks for following along, and glad we can relate! Sounds like you guys have quite the setup. Mechanization definitely helps if you have the capital and the right infrastructure to handle it. None of my barns would accommodate an accumulator/grapple set-up, and at my scale I personally like being able to say I handled every bale at least once. My customers appreciate the attention to detail and knowing I have different compositions from different fields to choose from, but that’s part of the direct marketing rather than commodity game - which definitely gets harder at scale. But in the end I appreciate the physical work too - and the bale thrower at least splits that difference nicely (and actually allows me to get hay under cover faster as a one-person show). Anyway, always appreciate comparing notes! Thanks!
